The game of Basketball has been my passion since I was 5 years old. I grew up as a kid watching my dad's recorded VHS tapes of playoff games through the 70s and 80s, and collected all the Basketball cards. Something about the game and what it represents just hooked me from a very young age.
My love for the game only continues to grow as time goes on. I love studying and analyzing the game, with an unbiased perspective. Feel free to subscribe, follow me on social media, and celebrate this amazing game and it's rich history with me!
I post videos every week on NBA history, predictions, hypothetical scenarios and current NBA topics.

Joker way more valuable than MJ and isn't even a ball hog
@@rockysalvatore435 Do you think Joker is the GOAT? I personally think it's Bron, but I have MJ 2nd. Although Joker may be the GOAT once his career is all said and done
@@BBallGOATI think it's Wilt. But Wilt, Bill, MJ, LBJ are the top 4. Perhaps Jokic will join this group when he finishes his career.
@NamTran-xc2ip That's fair. LeBron, MJ, and Kareem are in my top 3. I don't have a set list outside of those players yet, though.
Absolutely phenomenal video, Jonny! The debate was already over, but this video absolutely closes the book!
Bobby Knight: "Take Jordan at #1"
Rockets: "We need a Centre, tho.."
Bobby Knight: "Play Jordan at Centre..."
That Bobby Knight interview from 1984 is crazy.
What kills me about the whole "debate" is that we have film on every single game. I know it's not HD but it's not degraded black & white film either, and we have every stat recorded. It's not like stories you hear about Jack Johnson, Babe Ruth or Bruce Lee where you just have a very limited amount of grainy footage to go off of and just have to either believe whoever is telling you all these unbelievable things or not but Jordan's career is 100% verifiable and his case for the goat is undeniable.
You cannot make a valid case for anyone against Jordan's resume, eye test, per game stats or clutch, maybe one category but blown away at the rest. So all the "kings" men have to claim that chips and mvp's, per game and season stats don't matter because it's the total body of work and that everyone in the league before 2000 was a plumber and discredit the players from the era because that's all they've got.
Eye test Jordan's the goat with the second greatest dynasty ever, he was the best player on the greatest team ever assembled, he was the best player on the greatest NBA team ever, he's the greatest scorer ever, the greatest defensive guard, the biggest bag, the best finisher, the best midrange game, the most clutch and the greatest competitor ever. Compared to other shooting guards he's top 3 in every major statistical category, per game AND total, except for assists but he's 6th all time in that! Per game and career! No other player comes anywhere close to that at any position.
He's not just the GOAT of basketball he's the GOAT of sports period.

Ever heard of Don Bradman? Bradman was statistically almost twice as good as anyone else who has played his sport before or after him. Your long winded comment IS false and all you did was expose your lack of sporting knowledge full stop.
@@user-hv2xt8xm2w You think that was long winded? Go get a snack and a drink for this one.
So what was false about it other than your claim that a cricketer is the greatest sportsman ever or at least better than Jordan???
No, I haven't heard of Don Bradman but I looked him up. Interesting career but not without his own controversy taking a "duck?" on his last outing to keep his career batting percentage among other things. I ain't going to front, I don't know 💩 about cricket but when I look up, best cricketer, he gets some #1's but usually 2nd or 3rd to some other guys I've never heard of so he's not even cut and dry the best in his own sport. Now the best batter ever, he's got it every time. Cool.
Sounds like a legendary guy but we're talking about the best EVER! I looked up plenty of top sportsman of all time lists and he made a few. #29 out of 50 and 80 something out of 100. No top 10 or 25 lists but you know who was on top of all of them except 1? You guessed it, Michael Jordan and he was #2 on the one list he wasn't 1st and I looked at the first 7 or 8 that came up on my search. He's mixed in with people like Babe Ruth, Jim Thorpe and Ali, you know, people we've all heard of. It's not like I'm making some wild claim or anything and the more I study on it, the more I'm convinced it's true. You're the one who's just pulling some random mf'r out the hat and acting like "Don Bradman" is really someone to take serious when talking about the best ever in sports and acting like if I haven't heard of him then I don't know anything about sports. Lmao!!!!
I will acknowledge that maybe these lists don't take sports like crickets into consideration enough when making these lists and give US sports the most consideration but come on, what am I supposed to do? Your guy isn't even top 25 on anything or anything eye opening to deserve a deeper look so maybe you might need to reevaluate how much you think you know about sports?
I agree with almost everything you said except one thing. I think we actually don’t have all of the video footage of especially 1980’s M.J., which makes me wonder how much longer his highlight reels would actually be if we had all that footage!?
@@user-hv2xt8xm2wnobody has heard of him because he played a hundred years ago against nobodies in a sport that nobody cared to watch or play.

First of all we're not talking about the game of cricket from the mid-20s we're talking about basketball NBA basketball pro basketball the gentleman who made this long-winded comment said nothing about Jordan B the best athlete of all time statistically so go back and reread the long comment. Jordan is top three in almost every statistical category there is concerning the NBA not Cricket not bowling not Billiards not stamp collecting or butterfly catching or synchronized swimming but in the NBA basketball genre of professional sports as it relates to stat, the play of his game, his movement on the court as well as his off court ambassador-esque image. The writer says GOAT of ALL SPORTS as it pertains to thise metrics. if you have if you have any empirical information that will refute Jordan being top three in almost every stat known to NBA basketball then provide your evidence here otherwise reread what this guy is saying and govern your comments accordingly

Let's start easy.
10 x Topscorer. (Record)
Most trophies.
Most MVP Awards (Finals + Season)
Most points per game in the finals.
Most points per game in the playoffs.
Most points per game alltime.
The only player in 60 years with more than 3,000 points in a season.
Most efficient player (27,9)in the history.
Plus 3x steal leader
The first and only one player with MVP, DPOY and top scorer in a season.
The only player (with Pippen as far as the pure 3-peats are concerned) ) with 2 x 3-peat + 6 Finals MVP.
Second 3-peat= 2 x MVP, 3 x Finals MVP, 3x Topscorer, 3 x All- Defense Team without missing a single game.
6:0 Finals win record
At the age of 35- NBA Champion, MVP, Finals MVP, Allstar Game MVP, All NBA First Team, All Defense First Team.
The only player (by a huge margin) who was top scorer 9 times and at the same time in the First All Defense Team.
All of this in 12 seasons with the Bulls (86'only a few games due to a serious injury + 95' very late comeback only a few games=which doesn't even add up to half a season)
When he played as pointguard in March-April 89' (test) = 7 triple doubles in a row, 10 triple doubles from 11 games ( 33,6 Points average, 10,8 Rebounds average, 11,4 Assists average), 15 triple doubles total, in a few weeks.
Now you can come with the state padder's 21 years, but don't forget...No. 1 in turnovers overall and on average( It's good that the referees don't whistle for his double-step errors...), one of the worst final win rates in history. 4 titles in 21 years, Run to other teams, pick out
These kids don't get it. When we who watched him say MJ is GOAT we don't mean GOAT in basketball, he's GOAT athlete across all sports. That's how superior this man was. It was insane. I don't care about we done with 90s or whatever lol it gives me great satisfaction they will never get to see him do his thing in real time, sure you can look it up on youtube but you can't go back in time to experience that hype again. He was the most popular person on the planet in a pre social media era for a reason. And you just weren't there to witness it. That's tough.
Forgot about Messi?
@@Renegade-kf8fpwe talking real sports over here

Jonny - thank you for posting this!!!!!! His skill and entertainment level is why people believe he's the GOAT. The whole "SiX riNgS" argument is nothing but a post-hoc argument created by uninformed fans long after he retired. Its not the argument people were making while he was active.
Skill and entertainment are subjective, six rings are objective. I prefer facts.
If you use skill and entertainment as your argument in a real debate, your opponent will just laugh at you lmao.
My point is that “six rings” is not what people were arguing when mj was active. His GOAT case was not built on stats or rings when he was playing. It was built on something completely different. Hell, even if he never won a single ring, there would still be some old heads arguing he is still the GOAT. I just think that the six rings argument is not what makes him the goat and created this weird “ringz” culture that completely misses the essence of what makes an all time great player
@@huuuubaah that's not all though, you literally insulted people who use six rings as an argument, when in fact it's a better argument than anything you could come up with.
@@huuuubaah there wouldn't be a single person arguing he's the goat with 0 rings, at least not any sane person.

The bad defense thing is incredible. How many all defense teams? A record 9. And how much load management did he take? Zero. 🐐
For those of you who didn’t get to see Michael Jordan play. His game was one of a kind. Once in a lifetime. He could score better than KD. He could defend like Kawhi. He could dunk like Greek Freak He had a motor like Russ. All in one body. He was the best offensive player and defensive player in the league in the same player.

if that Jordan's (left hand) complilation don't shut the haters up.. I literally don't know what will!
It's a common sense, how will you dominate your era if you don't have a left. How will you carry your team to a 6 peat if your move will always go to your right. This is the most funny thing I ever heard 🤣😂
This is one of the best CZcams videos I've ever watched, and I watch a lot of YT videos!!
I also love the Wilt criticism that he never played against other tall players. The facts show otherwise.
I don’t know how long has been I’m a subscriber in this channel and still I never think of unsubscribing it. I’m not always doing a lot of comments but hopefully being a subscriber of your channel only shows how good you are. Kudos to you another good video again.
The late great Chick Hearn said as a rookie Jordan was the most athletic and the most competitive basketball player he had ever seen.
Great work, Jonny! I especially like the first video. I think that a GOAT case can be made for several athletes - and the GOAT cases you made were all solid - but I agree that MJ is the GOAT. I had seen the Bobby Knight clip before, but not the clips with Isaiah or Magic. They're great. MJ is absolutely amazing - and it's incredible how he was called the greatest even before any getting any accolade. Will we see someone better than him in the future? Perhaps, but it'll be tough to surpass him.
Man, those who say they're "done with the 90s" and those who say MJ has no left hand annoy me too. The cherry picking is terrible. SMH. The compilation of mess-ups from today's NBA that you shared is hilarious - the music is perfect lol. Great way to show the ridiculousness of the cherry picking.
I love the video about MJ's last all-star game. It was incredible. Such an epic matchup - especially how MJ and Kobe gave it their all. I like the intensity that both brought - and how they both pushed their teams to play good defense. Truly a game to remember.
Last, but not least, I like what you said: "It takes a team to win in the NBA." I think that this is often forgotten - too often. I too dislike how it's used to argue that the 90s is a "weak era" - even though it's not. Each era has its strengths and weaknesses and there's much to enjoy in every era. Great job debunking the false narrative of the 90s being weak. Solid information about how each of the teams that the Bulls faced in the NBA Finals in the 90s were all solid.
Take care. Have a nice Sunday, Jonny! :]
We'll never see his like again. The closest thing we'll ever get to MJ was Kobe, and I'm grateful that I got to witness Kobe's entire career. But there's only one Jordan; he was the best and no one else is even in the discussion.
Love these compilations Johnny! Looking forward to 200 questions when you get there
mj is fundamentals with elegance.
We’re seeing how quickly people forget greatness and how good Jordan really was, all it takes is a generation or two.
I think the younger generations that never watched him look at Jordan’s accomplishments and they have to find a way to rationalise how good him and his career actually was by criticising the era and competition he played against, overrating his teammates ect. Kinda like what we do to Wilt and his records and stats.
Most of this generation actually copy his moves
I knew it was coming but damn…
THANK YOU!!

This all star game is incredible
I.T. had a lot of love for MJ
Used to. Sad how MJ's relationships have soured over time. Barkley, Isiah and Pippen, just to name a few.
@@jonnyarnettIsiah has always given Jordan his props.
He didn’t change his opinions on Jordan.
He’s always had the angst from the Dream Team.
But whenever Isiah talks about “basketball” he doesn’t change his opinion.
I wish Isiah wouldn’t have repeatedly addressed the “Dream Team “ issue. It has taken away from all the great things he’s ALWAYS said about MJ.
Unfortunately, it is the clips and hot takes about Isiah being left off the Dream Team, has fueled the narrative that Isiah hated Jordan.
Anyway.
Isiah called Jokic’s run to greatness, before any one else.
Honestly, at the time I thought he was off, but what I’ve realized about Isiah is that he has a great basketball mind. The players he drafted (T.Mac) the players he encouraged and mentored early (Kevin Garnett)
If you really look for it, you won’t find too many videos where Isiah was disrespectful of Jordan.
Isiah is just the guy who everyone focuses on his failures, and it marginalizes all the great things he’s done, or in this case ~ the great things he’s said …
Pippen and Barkley’s issues with Jordan is personal and much of it has nothing to do with basketball.
FTR I will continue to say, it was wrong to leave Isiah off the Dream Team… that was personal from Jordan to Isiah, and Jordan personally denied Isiah that part of his legacy. Isiah never got to win a Gold medal, because of the 1980 boycott.
Just my opinion.
I always supported Isiah, the first “small guy” to lead his team to multiple championships. Prior to Isiah Thomas, the best player in a championship team was never a small PG~
Even if you include the 70’s… Rick Barry, Dennis Johnson who were the best players on championship teams, they were bigger guards and forwards….
Something that is often missed when talking about basketball history.
Only Steph has matched that, and if not for KD, Steph probably doesn’t get more than the one championship.
Respect Isiah for being the greatest small guard to play in the NBA!
@jonnyarnett
in your opinion, but did those relationships turned sour bc of Mike?
@@cd2ogz1 While MJs personality works quite well in competitive sports, it's not in the real world. I like MJ a lot but he's the definition of "Never meet your heroes".
But for Pippen's case, not really MJs fault. The others, Jordan have a part.
@@jonnyarnett I think with Barkley his job totally forgot he had a friendship 1st with MJ. I think a call should've been made n letting him know how he felt about MJ ownership with Charlotte..... The best all around player The game has ever seen, no weaknesses, defensive or offensive
Another MJ video 🥹❤️
I really have to thank Jonny for this, but there is one burning question.
If one does not appreciate the legends who made basketball impactful and are done with previous decades, are they even fans of basketball?
I would argue that they’re not. They’re fans of their favorite players, almost as if they care about the actor more than the movie they play in. They view their favorite players like celebrities, and that’s what they’re passionate about, to the point that they’ll attempt to diminish basketball itself.
He's the best shot blocker and the greatest player of all time.
And Anthony Edwards, although great, is much more like Dwyane Wade. He’s no Jordan.
It’s INSANE how durable Michael was! 1 broken foot in his 2nd year and that was it! And I don’t wanna hear LeBron or any of this…. he was tackled on a nightly basis!
The Lebron FAN boys can’t watch this and in good faith be like “all right, #2 is ok”.
MJ 🐐
There have been other great athletes in the NBA, even better physically but they didn’t have it in between the ears to sustain and dominate like MJ. MJ worked out feverishly gaining muscle after Pistons beat him up in the postseason. Sacrificing some speed for strength and endurance. Haven’t seen anyone except maybe.the late Kobe that matches that intensity.
Elgin Baylor was 6 feet 5 inches. Elgin got rebounds, points, guard the paint. He could
play every position on the Court (shooting guard, point guard, small forward, strong forward & Center). Elgin was fast & Strong. He's a combo of Michael Jordan, Magic & Wilt Chamberlain and he was in the army at the same time! He was the GOAT or the Super Man then!
That was top tier Mario kart music for the low lights those dang on bananas 🍌 whoever did that man 😂
Dude was defensive player of the year in 88 and 9 times All-defensive first team so there's something to this. It's a big claim but it's true that for his position and for his height dude was one hell of a shot blocker. There weren't many who could challenge MJ in the air.
"Both of his sons" lmao! 😅😂
Mike, Sam and James! Go Heels
Klutch be butt hurt 😂
It's really tough to explain what it was like to actually watch Jordan play because it sounds like you're exaggerating, even though you aren't. He's the only player in any sport that I've ever seen where when you talk about two teams matching up, you knew who the best player was and there was really no debate about it. LeBron may be better than Durant, but Durant could easily outplay him on any given night. Shaq is the most dominant but Olajuwon could outplay him and no one would be surprised.
When Jordan played, you knew that he was going to dominate his matchup easily. You just wrote it down in pen and moved onto other matchups. There is a reason why excellence is described as someone being "The Michael Jordan of ______." and everyone knows exactly what you mean.
Im from Australia and i've watched the man who lives vertically since 1990.
I love the bulls, I love pip and MJ is just years ahead of LeBron.
Kobe is closer to the respect than LeBron, in my opinion.

Loved the lowlights. Trolls do this every time to the WNBA.
This may be a bit out of your alley but I want to see a video on your thoughts about Patrick Mahomes
MJ is too good
The problem with this younger generation is their inability to think objectively & critically, and lacking appreciation and respect. That's why they are unable to judge & make comparison without the need to downgrade something in order to uplift their own opinions/biases. They are quick to disregard and dismiss previous generations without taking the time to view previous generations objectively.
I don't like Bobby Knight. But you have to respect his basketball knowledge. I believe what he said about MJ. 👍🏽💯

the only way you rank anyone above Jordan is by never watching Jordan play. that man WAS basketball.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
all eras should be respected they are all atheltes and that gets respect by me, my favorites is MJ magic bird , but this era also has superstar player jokic reminds be of bird, edwards kinda like mj history repeats itself the games change
MJ is the goat, he played vs beast like Hakeem, young shaq, mailman, robinson hitting him hard every night, not soft players like Joke etc who play zero D
Pump the brakes on ANT. Slow down
I think I never saw that nasty dunk @4:28... Wow
I watched Jordan since 1988 89 season And I don't remember him being called the goat by most people until he won first 3 in a row. Magic didn't know jordan would retire after that he probably thought jordan would be going g for 4 or 5 in a row.
The 3-peat clinched it. There was a lot of the talk happening throughout the 92-93 season about Jordan being the best. Because bird, magic, or anyone in the modern nba 3-peat, that was a new bar.
He have to be the goat then he only had 1 hand and accomplished all that with just a right hand that solidified it hands down I mean hand down sorry
❤🐶
Before Jordan it was Elgin Baylor & David Thompson! Elgin was just as flashy as Jordan & he was just as strong as Wilt Chamberlain & he was in the army at the same time. David Thompson was about 6 feet 3 inches, but they called him Sky walker. Thompson would fly in the air just like Jordan, but Jordan was 6 feet 6 inches! Davis County was fiancée at the time that he played in the NBA!
Lebron Fan Girls: MJ's moves arent spectacular nowadays. Many Highschoolers doing it everyday.
Oh yeah were they doing it against NBA players? The level of hypothyroidism in Lebron Fan girls is sickening.

Listening to Isaiah Thomas who was slighted for the Olympics by Jordan... say that stuff just says it all.
Upvote on both sons comment
But people call Isaiah a hater!
Isiah gives props to MJ and people say he hated him
Quit being intentionally ignorant. Isaiah started hating MJ in the 80s, then when he became a analyst he started being honest, then Isaiah saw the last dance and just like herpes the hate came back with a vengeance.Got it?!
Are you saying Scal doesn't belong in the goat convo?
I wish the GOAT debate wasn't so divisive. Let's enjoy the greats of all eras and what made them what they were/are. Bron's freakish physique and longevity, MJ's killer instinct and scoring prowess, Magic's passing, Kobe's Mamba Mentality, Shaq's overwhelming dominance and nimbleness for his size, Dream's footwork and shot-blocking. It's all beautiful 💯...that being said, I do think MJ is the GOAT 😂. I'm not some basketball expert, though.

Damn.....bro only showed 1 to 2 dribbles at most and a left lay....I don't think that's what the peek dude was saying when he said go left after half court.....also the modern day blooper reel doesn't hit and refute like I thought it would....
DOES MJ HAVE MORE AND1'S THAN 3POINTERS MADE IN HIS CAREER JUST CURIOUS
