Hey Jimmy :-) Just subscribed and liked, been following the whole series. I REALLY would like your feedback on something you said in the video. I went and looked closer at Sunny Sangria Hedgehog, and of the 4 witnesses in the green sweet spot that you pointed out, 2 are being scaled back to 0.71, while 2 are not. Additionally, several other witnesses well outside the supposed sweet spot remain at a reward scaling of 1.0. What gives? I just ordered 16 hotspots, and obviously would like to deploy them as optimally as possible. However the reduced reward scaling of some of the devices in Sunny Sangria Hedgehogs sweet spot has me a little confused. Can we have your thoughts on this please?
Can you make a video about how are your miners are setup the antenna, height and the cable management do you have the miner inside and the antenna outside or do you just have the miners inside with the stock antenna

Great videos. You're probably one of the most if not the most informative on this topic. I have two quick questions. The first one being, I imagine the hot spots will still connect to one another if they're outside of the sweet spots? There's no one in my area with a hot spot and there isn't really anyone's home I could use it in, outside of a relative that's a few miles away. Second question which might sound dumb but is there a way to make my dot anonymous, or I have to show my location on the map?

When you assert your location at the beginning, you can move it a little so it's not directly over your place (as I did) and its fine if Hotspot isn't in the sweet spot. Itll still speak to it further away

Must be bc you live in the midwest and it's flat. I live in the North East and there's all hills and valleys. Miners are scarce around here (Seymour, Ct) and making 3-500 a month on average. Well done, Jimmy!

All brand new to me. It appears from the explorer there are zero other miners in my rural location. With 10-15 miles. Do I get it that it would be possible to set up your own 'network' by buying 2 or more units with proper placement? Second Q is this true line of sight placement only?

Great video! I have been following HNT for a while now and I now want to install a few hot spots. I live in Korea now and at the moment there are no hotspots in Korea. I see a few in Japan, China, HK but zero in Korea. Also, HNT is not listed yet in any of the exchanges in Korea. I am very curious if it will work in Korea?
Quick question, if you have a 2nd miner outside the green area, and you buy an upgraded antenna to extend range, does it extend the green area or just so they can see each other?

He might have 'hacked' it. Means he put them next to each other but simulates distance by putting objects or walls inbetween them...

I just ordered a Nebra unit and checked my area - I live in a condo and there is 1 other hotspot within the 30m "bad-zone" - how much will this impact what I am able to earn? If I have a better location (eg. higher up) will I be able to "take over" some of the action?
Between this video and the previous one, you’ve presented a lot of good info and answered a number of questions. I still have a few more. 1. I assume you may need to have an Ethernet hub to connect to the hotspot? 2. I assume if you need to mount an antenna for on top of your house, you would need to run a wire down to a Nebra hotspot? 3. My suburban neighborhood is relatively flat, but there are a number of trees around. The closest hotspot is 2 Km away. Looking at the map, there are a number of others connected to it that are further away. So maybe I need the 8db antenna? Or would the rewards be negligible without a possible second hotspot to bridge the gap? 4. If I wanted to buy a second hotspot and place it outside my "sweet spot", like say an extra 5 blocks as the crow flies, would it still be worth it? I’m just about ready to pull the trigger- that closest existing hotspot is pulling down about $5000 a month! Too bad I missed today's deadline for getting it before July. :(

So I am trying to get a good understanding of the distancing vs pay out. Is it more of an average, meaning if I have one close by and one in the sweet spot, my average goes down vs if I just had one in the sweet spot? I hope I was able to make myself clear.

I live on the 6th floor of the southern most building in a complex. I have a location on the 6th floor of the north side of the northern most building as well. The buildings are less than 300 meters apart but they would have walls between them. The location is great, but would I end up with degradation of signal

Super useful! The Kerlink one you ordered, it says it lacks ability to form a consensus group. Will this majorly effect HNT rewards? Only I’d look to buy 2 and am only one in my area. Thanks again!
if somebody sets up a hotspot within my redzone, will it negatively affect my rewards? or just marginally add some
As I understand, different dB antennas propogate a different style of signal. If you place two miners near under that 300m limit, with 90* intersecting antennas would that affect the rewards mined?
hey jimmy greetings from germany i live in germany frankfurt there is such a low rate of these hotspots that i thought about 1 or 2 about to buy, but im living in a apartment with a balcony. the next hotspot would be 6kms away from me so is it worth? we have alot of skyscrapers around my place ? are these hotspot autonomous - without electricity connection with a battery? can i use the first one inroom and the next one laying on the rooftop autonomous spreeding the signal of the first one?
In other words when getting a host for the mining unit, it requires internet!! what happens if the house does not have wifi !!, I thought that it just needs to be connected to an electric plug point. What happens during load shedding and power outages!! Would the unit blow up or stop working!!!

jimmy, if i were to place a hotspot at a neighbor house, would it use his internet or anything that i need to tell him/her about what this hotspot is doing? im sure it use some of his electricity too.
So I've checked the map and saw that in city where I'm located there isn't any miners and then I noticed that there isn't even one of those in the entire country where I live. Will I make money if I bought one?

If I were to own 2 hotspots that were within the sweet spots of each other. would I get the rewards from both of them communicating with each other? for example, if you only own 1 of the hotspots in a chain of 2 you would make 150 HNT per month, but If u were to own both of the hotspots in the chain you would earn 150 HNT per month x2 because you own both hotspots meaning you would earn 300 HNT per month? if this is true would it also apply for a triangle of hotspots communicating with each other, each hotspot being able to send and receive with the other 2 hotspots inside the sweet spot? Please ask me to clarify if this is confusing, I don't think I explained very well

The red spot only means that ur hotspot won’t interact with any hotspot within the red

I got a fiberglass antenna, 8dbi, the miner is connected to the blockchain I have 2 nearby hotspots and many at a relatively fine distance and it hasn't connected to any other or receive witnesses, not even once.
What kind of range (miles?) do you get with rak antenna?

Does the Helium explorer reflecting 30 days earning match what you actually got?I see most of them on map earning USD 3 TO 4 max in 30 days but folks on CZcams have a different view.
Is the coverage map immediate? Meaning, can I place my second one somewhere a mile away, set it up and then immediately see if it's in a good spot by pulling up the app? Or is there some amount of time you have to wait to get results?
It takes a good 24-48 hours to get deep in the blockchain. As long as you're not directly near another and there is others within a couple miles of you, you're good.
Great job, is it possible to go around with your phone?..after setting up the two miners in your home and your friends home?

Two in one house makes it less efficient, you’ll still earn more with two I believe, but it’ll be lower earning per dollar spent

There is no point if asking, there's alot of factors that influence youre earnings. Do research on Helium's website. Its all about trial and error. After a month of the hotspot installed is when you will know about youre earnings.
20-25 meters is too close. Go to helium.place and search your address or tap the "use my location" button. It will show you the area that is too close (red) and the "sweet spot" (green).

Hi, if you place all of them within the same place, which is actually the same hexagon, your reward will be scaled down because you’re gonna get low score for your hotspots. If you decide to buy 10-15 items, you should be really friendly to spread all of them properly in your neighbors’ houses. Also, don’t forget that there may be other people placing their hotspots close to yours, which can result in low rewards as well. Sounds a bit risky. I would go with a smaller number
Hi, how to change the currency price of my wallet on helium app? I’ve been in settings. But I wasn’t able to change the language even the currency to ex: US, GBP or even EUR it’s in a currency outside of my country.
Are you only witnessing and connecting with the one within the green or can you connect with the ones that are a little farther? I can put one about two miles away from me and that would put it outside the green zone.
Green is just the sweet spot. It can connect to one's outside of it. As far as line of sight can go. 2 miles, 5 miles, 10 miles... depending on terrain.
