If you don't have a wifi provider you are going to want a sim card that you have in your phone that is active so it can use data like a phone and then install them were you get a phone signal

If they own pets, that's the in. Dog tracking collars are important to owners. These hot spots can help send location of where they run off to if near you

If the network is using my personal internet and in essence retransmitting it, does that mean the IOT device data is being sent/received through my network? If so, does this introduce security concerns from malicious actors entering my personal network? Thanks again, keep the videos coming.
I plan to put it into it's own VLAN because yeah that IOT traffic will be going over your internet connection. In theory if someone were able to hack the miners, if it's on your home network someone could get access to whatever is on your home net. So yep firewalls / VLANs etc.
I live in a small town in Hungary. No miners in my 65 miles area. I'm planning to buy two miners, put one to my grandmother's house (like 400m from my home) and another one at my home's roof.

In Mar 2021 when this was made, there were maybe 15k miners. Today, 31 July, there are over 100k miners. The first "halving" happens tomorrow. So that's 7x the number of eaters, and a pie half-sized. Do you suppose your mined "earnings" will therefore increase or decrease?
earnings increase and decrease. Individualized earning are worth more (more demand, less availability) and worth less (you get less pie for the same effort) but in general less pie for the effort but the pie you get is worth more trends to be more valuable but crypto values are always fluctuating and that has the biggest effect as you typically need to either find a store that accepts the crypto or you have to convert it and that is where its actual intrinsic value will be.

Great video. In terms of performance do you think certain brands are better than others. I have 5 miners and the Rak wireless seem to be doing better. What’s your opinion? I thought brands wouldn’t matter but idk now.
As of today, I have a bobcat miner scheduled to arrive near the end of September and end of November. I'm not in a high populated area, so getting an additional miner would be helpful from what you're saying. How good of friends were you with your neighbor? How did you go about asking your neighbor? And would you still recommend getting a second helium miner (probably a bobcat)?

@@davidayer2168 if it takes too long to make back the initial investment it won't be worth it... the price of HNT could drop or there could be too many miners
If you order now, it'll come in at a good time. Also price will go up as their network keeps expanding and especially after halving. Halves every 2 years. If you're familiar with bitcoin, then you know what happens with them every 4 years. If you regret not getting into bitcoin years ago, you'll regret HNT as it will grow past $25, then past $50 and easily be at and above $100 coin

Hello Jymmy. I am really interested on this option of mining but I am in Brazil and as I checked on the map, there is only 1 place here, its Brazilia with 1 miner, doing very very badly. So watching your videos I thought that if I buy at once 3 miners and install it in a range 300 m just as you mentioned on your videos, would I have a good result in terms of Helium production? What do you think? Or where do you think I should starting to looking for more answers? (I believe that in Brazil when it starts it may become a big fever based on the way I experienced people here, adopting new technologies, specially when it brings money opportunities). Ordered a rak and a nebra. I'm sure mining will be much more difficult by the time I receive them but the price of hnt is growing so its kind of a push. I mined btc back in 2012 so I understand the potential.

Sorry I should have clarified. I already spoke with my in-laws so it's going there. They have not arrived yet :( I have a friend that has a few set up but in an area that already has 5 others and he is absolutely killing it. I've looked at the map a lot and found similar setups as mine will be and I can't quite make out the reward structure. Mine will be about 500m apart. Some I've found get horrible rewards, some get rewards like in this video. I can only imagine it has something to do with the stability of their connection considering when they drop it can take a long time to get back in the network. I'll update this comment with numbers soon as they arrive.

How close to the window do I have to set up the antenna? Do I have to glue it directly on the window or can it be on the wall a few feet from the window?
I have two possible locations for my first miner. One has two hotspots in the green zone but also one in the red zone. The second spot has no hotspots in the green zone but also none in the red zone. Which would be a better site?

Is there a misconception on reward ratio? Plz do a video on hexagon mapping. I think if there is more distance connection is better than dense connection coz the rewards gets distributed with that hexagon mapping n how many hotspot is in that map.
