I think the thing is to not make the actual pop so big, think smaller.
I would suggest making them smaller and using more force when forming them into a ball before freezing them. Cake is mostly air so you want the consistency to be more like cookie dough so it holds its shape when it starts to thaw. If you like the size and using the ice cream scoop, I’d recommend just extending your freeze time to about 30-45 minutes before putting the sticks in and about an additional 10 minutes after to make sure it freezes the chocolate coating and it won’t be able to fall off the stick
100% this, also using a cup was not the best way to get the chocolate coating on, a bowl is more ideal
Do it again and make them smaller, put them in the fridge to set at every step and you’re there 😭 You can also use cream cheese bc it’s firmer than frosting when cool
Cake pops are normally about 1/3 of the size of these.
Also, I’d start with only a couple of tablespoons of icing versus half of the container. 😃
Thank you Lisa for showing how real the struggle can be for us regular cooks/bakers. Also thank you for my first laugh of the days and tears running down my face.
Please try candy melts as the outer coating. You can melt them by double boiling on the stove and dip the cake pop directly into the pot you melt them in while still at total melt temp. Put each pop directly in the fridge to harden them quickly after dipping. Maybe also make the pop itself just a little smaller. Closer to golf ball size. Peace and love always. ❤
Candy melts and chocolate bark are essentially the same thing-both are forms of compound chocolate. What she had could have been melted in a double boiler-she chose a glass method for easier dipping, which could have worked if the balls were smaller and more well refrigerated (so the frosting stayed firm).
Cake pops can be fussy. They're always labor intensive. My suggestions:
Make the balls smaller and let them sit in the freezer for 1 hour.
After placing the sticks onto the balls, stick them into the fridge or freezer for 5 minutes before dipping into melted chocolate.
Constantly make sure the cake pops are cold and the melted chocolate is warm and not thickening up
Lisa, maybe try using a larger bowl to dip the pops. It will be easier to dip and spin off the excess. Love this series!
Hey Lisa, I made some the same way you did. The only difference is that I froze them in between every step and when you dip them in the chocolate or candy melt you need ice cold pops to harden the coating right away that goes on to it then place on the cookie sheet upside-down to cool... hope that helps 😊
Making them smaller would help a ton, using choclate bark I personally think it makes the choclate to thick. I'd use candy melts or Ghirardelli makes some awesome melts that you can use in the microwave. Using less frosting helps a ton. Try a couple tablespoon at first and when it becomes like a playdo texture is when you start rolling. Making them so big you're gunna have alot of trouble im coating them but getting them to stick to a stick. However if Making them big is your intention than I'd get 2 forks and coat them with chocolate that way leave the stick out.
🍰 Next try covering the cake with plastic wrap while hot…. It will sweat and hold in that moisture you will need to roll them. Then you need to use a stand mixer to make the cakepop (dough) if it doesn’t hold a ball well add like a tablespoon of frosting….roll them and chill them. Dip the Sticks in chocolate then let the cake pops chill again then cover with chocolate. ❤
3 tips....
1. Candy melts instead. They firm up and keep the ball on the stick.
2. Less frosting in the cake.
3. Smaller balls.
❤Your Voice Is So Calm And Satisfying❤❤❤
I’m pretty sure if you have it very hot(cake mix after bake) and you put it in a mixer you don’t even have to have frosting
Hey Lisa! I commented on ur last attempt on making cake pops and I thought I might try and help u out again :)
(still not a pro baker buutt…I try-)
1.) I would recommend to use a cookie scoop instead of an icecream one. Even a tablespoon might work!! The weight comes from the size and with the added weight from the chocolate, it just causes the ball to collapse.
2.) Good job letting the chocolate set! I would just suggest u pop them in the freezer so the chocolate and cake ensured to harden. This also helps them not fall down when dipping.
3.) Maybe try using melting a bit of coconut oil along with the chocolate to help thin it. This helps with making the chocolate less thick and in turn, less heavy. It also makes it smoother and even shinier.
This was a way better attempt than last time!! The pops for the most part stayed on the stick, so bravo :) I would honestly just suggest you watch some videos on them, there’s a lot of great CZcamsrs with rlly helpful techniques. You could also try the variation where you lay the pops on parchment, rather than prop them up. It has the same taste either way :)
And if these tips still don’t help- drown them in sprinkles and just enjoy. Cake pops are delicious regardless of them looking pretty :) good job!
great job Lisa!! you are my favorite!! sometimes it's the journey not the destination and sometimes it's the destination not the journey. Either way time with you is priceless. ❤
Make the balls, cover in chocolate, add sprinkles. Then refrigerate. The last think you do is add the cookie sticks.
And after sticking the stick in chocolate so the cake has something to stick to, make sure it hardens completely.
Personally, I've never done that and it's been fine. Unless you mean letting it harden with the cake pop on it and not just the chocolate on the stick lol
@@abigaylegeiselyeah that's what I meant
Omg it was fun and funny so funny to see you and your expression, love you Lisa😝
I am in LOVE with this woman 😮💨
When I was in 8th grade we had a project to make a physical representation of the solar system so I made a bunch of cake pops in different sizes and tried to make each one a planet. But I didn’t know what I was doing and they basically did the same thing yours did. My mom and I were laughing so hard over that one
I think you’re supposed to freeze the cake pops after inserting the sticks in. That way it can hold itself when you start dunking them in the chocolate.
Smaller cake pops, and absolutely keep them cold-keep putting them back into the freezer any time you’re remelting chocolate or to let the stick set inside the ball.
Lisa at the end😂😂😂
Maybe you should melt the chocolate with coconut oil. The chocolate becomes smooth and will stick better.
Then when you dip the balls in the chocolate, dont let them stand in the box.
Just put it back upside down onto the tray and into the freezer.
They will hardened and will not fall off the stick.
Still a good try tho.
Would like to see part 2 for this❤
i love this! go lisa!
Lisa, your voice is adorable; it suits you lol 😄
Not only should you try to make the cake pops much smaller, but also it seems you're weighing them down with chocolate too much. Try making the chocolate layer much thinner, for example, by thinning down the completely melted chocolate with some alcohol or milk (water would seperate the chocolate and make a mess), just a touch so it's runnier. Then, dipping the cake pop in it would produce a much thinner layer of chocolate which wouldn't make the pop collapse or slide off the stick.
when you dip the stick in chocolate, stick it inside the cake pop and let it chill for a bit until the chocolate is hard. then dip.
Nice Efforts Lisa❤
Thank you Liza for the entertainment 😂
Smaller cake pops, your cake pop mix is too moist and freeze the cake pops with sticks to set before dipping!
I love your voice. It’s top tier. Your narration is great. Funny thing I thought to post this comment watching an old video without hearing your comment about your voice. I’m from KC and saw some of your videos there.
NOOOOO IM SO SORRY LISA
"Why do my 3 pound balls of cake keep falling off?"
Vegan fish and chips🍟🐟
I suggest a cake pop mold where they have a hole already Built in and let them sit longer in the freezer so the chocolate Will shell up haha😂
I LAUGH REALLY HARD YOUR A COMEDIAN
Freeze them longer, make them smaller, and use a double boiler for the chocolate. You need to be using a bakers chocolate.
Awesome video! 😎✌
When you take out the cake put it in the fridge and wait like 1h and put 1 spoon of frosting each time unit it looks like a cake pop mixture and then put the cake pop in the freezer and then the balls should be a bit stiff then you can melt the chocolate and you can add some water to it so it can be smoother hope this tip helps.
i think you should make the cake balls smaller and after you put the stick in the choco you should put it in the freezer for it to set.
I am sooo extremely happy that your making the cake pops again also I’m glad it went better than last time (Edit).
9:01 fr 😅needs less cake
i remember trying Starbucks one for the first time and omg 😲❤🤤😋
Way to work clean.😊❤😊
Dude, i hate hearing my voice too but i love hearing you talk. I could listen to you all day... Please give yourself a break! I think you judge yourself on a level no one else does+ theres nothing wrong/awkward with your voice!......
Make it smaller and after you make the balls freeze them, then stick the stick with the chocolate in and freeze it again. Then dip.
😊 I love cake pops
My stomach is speaking now thanks
Make these in a walk in freezer.❤
you need to make the cake balls smaller and also let them harden then if the dipping method doesn't work try pouring the chocolate or just take the melted chocolates in a bowl so you have more room to move it around
You should make them smaller so the dont kinda just fall right of the stick
Not tempting i am perfect Jesus 😂😂😂🎉🎉❤❤❤
Yo !!! I was just making cake pops 😂😂❤
I can’t blame for not wanting to listen to yourself. I sound like a 5 year with cold. My friend said yeah you sound like a kid on the phone or when you record yourself. It really sucks when your trying to get a job and everyone want you to do those one sided video interviews.
You should make them smaller.
They were a bit to big and its better to melt the chocolate in a bowl and slowly turn it while just barely dipping it in. Also use candy melts
you should buy the machine makes really nice cake pops
Wagyu was included just so it could be in the name.
Very nice video 👍👍

Put it in the freezer
*Is she in the Lbgt community?*
Love from India
your chocolate was a too thick, it needed to be thinned out abit
You made the balls too big for the stick to hold I think you should make smaller cake pops and also the melted chocolate shouldn't be so thick..it should be a little bit runny....a little bit runny not too much..I think and btw I'm no chef😂😂😂 I'm just a science student😂😂.
Heyyy
I think yours balls were too big. I also always use a bowl for dipping so i have more control
Additionally, my MIL is a trained pastry chef and cant make cake pops for her life, so dont feel bad.
