Grilled cheese is such a homey item that's easy to make and always nice to have. Especially with some tomato soup.
I've always used room temp butter on my bread and start in a cold pan to make sure I get that long cheese pull. But I load my grilled cheeses a lot more than 1 slice lol (I grate my cheese).

My favorite way to make grilled cheese is to add some garlic powder (as much as your heart desires), some parsley flakes and some shredded cheese to butter and spread that on the outside and then use two different kinds of cheese inside (I prefer Swiss and Colby Jack) and I personally add a pinch more garlic powder to the inside but that’s just me and then cook it like normal til the outside is crispy and the inside is melted. Oh and one time I made it but also added a fried egg inside and it was heavenly.
I'm disappointed that none of your friends add any cheese to the outside, crispy cheese on the outside takes it to another level

My grilled cheese is sour dough with compound butter made from garlic and cayenne on the outside. Then inside a super thin swipe of Miracle whip, Munster cheese and American cheese. Voila

How I like to make my grilled cheese is with Gouda and some Cheddar. I like to add some (pre-smoked or cooked) chicken pieces or pulled chicken, coated in shawarma/shoarma herbs. I always cover both sides of the bread with butter and put it in the grilled cheese press or, if I'm feeling fancy, I grill the sandwich in a pan with a bunch of butter. For extra deliciousness: I add a slice of gouda on the outside of the bread, so that it crisps up.

Grilled cheese sandwiches are WEAKNESS! Love them so much. Mine is super basic, two slices of Texas toast, butter in the pan, one slice of havarti and one slice of pepper jack. Toast till golden. The cheese pull is ridiculous with the Havarti!

For the "apple" recipe, I use Brie, and pre-cooked green apple. Sourdough works, and save the cayenne for the tomato soup.

My favorite grilled cheese is using both mayo and butter, American cheese [2 slices minimum] and super thinly sliced tomato.. The cheese will envelope the tomato... Low-ish and slow, so juicy and delicious.

I use muenster and cheddar, as well as the toast of both sides. My grandmother showed me that when I was little and has always been my fav with the extra crunch. I like the meunster in there for the flavor and stringy qualities it provides lol sharp cheddar or American depending on mood
I find that the best grilled cheese involves shredded cheese, habanero Monterey Jack to be exact, because I find that shredded cheese melts a lot better than slices

Ever since watching this vid I’ve been using the butter/mayo on both sides method
I make mine like Noah's, but I use Kewpie mayo. The apple one looks interesting to try.
I usually use american type toast, hard goat cheese, cheddar and gouda inside and shredded gouda outside, for others sometimes prosciutto, I like mine fried in garlicky oil and hard pressed into pan.
I always toast the inside bread😂 surprised other people never thought to.
If you did Noah’s with sourdough bread it would have an amazing crunch

Next time I make a grilled cheese I’m ded toasting both side of each slice of bread. Idk HOW I never thought of that it’s BRILLIANT 😭
Personally I'm a just butter person unless I'm using a crusted bread like sourdough then mayo seems to give more consistent browning also higher heat on these crusted breads than on presliced sandwich loaves.

I make my sandwich with american cheese,a slice of tomato and some ketchup and butter outside of the bread and if your want to be on the edge add bacon pieces optional 🫠🫡
