I am so sorry. So sorry that you had to run for your life like that. I cried in the first 15 seconds. I am a Kashmiri muslim and I can't even imagine leaving Kashmir and leaving everything behind. The way they speak, the words they use, the tang of Kashmiri in their accent is so familiar. It's my language.These people feel like family even through the phone screen. I hope and pray this situation gets sorted out soon. And Kashmiri Pandits are not only used as an election votebank, and the government actually gives a damn about them. Arindam, the only reason nothing will ever change is because electorally the Kashmiri Pandit or for that matter the Kashmiri Muslim doesn’t matter. Being a Kashmiri Pandit,or say, Refugee in my own country, or say, Scape goat to my Govt. , I have always hoped that someday we would go back to our homeland, Kashmir. Infact each and every Kashmiri Pandit still have hopes to go back to their roots. My Grandfather who is in his 80’s still wants to live in his homeland. Tears flow down in his eyes whenever he thinks about his homeland. That pain, that sufferings which every KP feels in their hearts will never be understood by the Govt. of India. They will do nothing for us unless and until something worse happened in front of them, after then they come up with so called lollipops so that we can forget what happened to us. I am also an employee, working there for about 7 months, I think we KPs are fools who got trapped by UPA’s lollipop of Rehabilitation Package of 2010 and now NDA Govt. is playing with us. Are we not human beings? Are we not peaceful community? Are we not Nationalists? Are we not deserve to live in our homes like everyone does? People got to know about us in 2022 , after 32 years. This is so called 21st century. Murderers of our community are freely enjoying there and the sufferers are still suffering their killings. We were never a Coward community, Cowards are those who have not being informed or searched about our genocide, Cowards are those who did nothing at the time of our genocide, cowards are those who still believe that Kashmir is theirs only. Kashmir is the part of India, a part of every Kashmiri Pandit.

We are in the 21st century and unfortunately Caste system is still prevalent in India. I as a person do not believe in the caste system. I am very against of it. All what moderate Muslims can do is to pray. But Extremist Muslims know to speak up their stand, radicalise more and more Muslims and use violence to evict non-Muslims.
Why Moderate Muslims never have a significant say in their community? Why they failed to prevent hate speech from Mosques?

I studied in Kashmir Valley but am a Dogra from Jammu and also studied Kashmir and her people. All genuine Kashmiri Muslims are converts to Islam (a good Semitic religion) from Kashmiri Hindus, though of all castes. The genuine Pandits and genuine converts from Pandits to Islam have sharper features. Hence most Kashmiri Muslims have a very strong bond with their Pandit brethren; this is the solid path to peace. Kashmiris resemble most with the Tajik people. Francois Bernier (1625 - 1688 A.D.), French physician and traveler, when he arrived in Kashmir describes the Kashmiris thus,
”The people of Kachemire (Kashmir) are proverbial for their clear complexions and fine forms. They are, as well made as Europeans, and their faces have neither the Tartar flat nose nor the small pig-eyes that distinguish the natives of Kacheguer (Kashgar), and which generally mark those of Great Tibet.”

i am kashmiri muslim living in california. kashmiri pandits are the pride of kashmir period. i would give my blood for them without thinking twice. i live in mehjoor nagar srinagar and have been raised by pandits. kashmiris would go out of way to defend pandits at all cost, but stupid pakistan sending these brutal militants and some stupid locals joined them, it is very sad.I am praying to allah that all pandits should return to valley once and may god punish pakistan and rot them in hell for creating this mess. love my pandits and may god show you better days back in your orginal valley.
