The iPhone SE screen replacement is pretty much the exact same process as the iPhone 5s. (And the 5, and the 6, and 6+, and 6s, and 6s+... But whos keeping track?) The whole process should only take about 30 minutes, and the replacement parts are pretty cheap.
You attempt this project at your OWN risk.

Edit: Good to see the SE community is STRONG!
4/3/2020 my Se is now my Smart remote for my entire home... How many other people can stream Hulu on a TV from the remote, then watch CZcams videos and adjust the lighting/thermostat all from one device.

Excellent tutorial, and by far the most helpful on this task. A few specific suggestions after completing the replacement:
    1) A single-edge razor blade is a good pry bar, as long as you are careful. The plastic pick in the replacement kit ('Weelpower') was great to open cables, but not to lift the screen
    2) A sheet 8x11/A4 with double-sided Scotch tape helps organize your materials, and lets you add notes
    3) Buy a good toolkit with tweezers, similar to the pair used in the video
    4) Be patient when you put the front camera as sensors in - they are a pain in a** to line up right, and it is very easy to crack a new screen
    5) For some of the small cable couplings, wetting the end of my fingertip (sticks to the plastic) made it easier to click in. This is gave more precise feedback for me, but YMMV
    6) Work over a paper towel or white cloth - this screws wont bounce away if they fall off, and will be easier to see
In general, get an inexpensive pair of magnifying glasses and have a good light source overhead.

For me, getting the home button ribbon cable plugged back in and the metal clip on top of it was one of the easiest parts. I struggled with getting that metal bracket over the ear piece and everything to sit in there flat without sticking up. And the strong magnet kept grabbing the screws off the end of my screwdriver. This video was very helpful and I couldn't have figured it all out myself in one night. Very intense job, got it done and everything works, but I don't think I'll attempt another one.

JerryRigEverything, a great many THANKS for making this video!!! It helped TREMENDOUSLY today when I replaced the screen/digitizer on our old iPhone SE. We are now able to pass this phone along to our kids to have an extra device to play with, and it will hopefully help ‘keep the peace’ just a bit more around the house while we endure the isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic. I do have to say, you did a GREAT JOB pointing out the specifics, such as with the clip that retains the Home Button Cable Connector!!! You certainly have an EYE FOR DETAIL, and enjoy the fact that you do not use a single, static camera angle. The various camera angles helped phenomenaly! Overall, A VERY PROFESSIONAL JOB 👍👍
Just a quick side-note, I worked in IT for a very, very long time, and repaired many laptops over the years, but this was my first time inside an Apple device. That being said, I am amazed at how small the screws, parts, and connectors are compared to a laptop computer. This was definitely way more difficult than a typical screen repair (or just about any routine repair) on a laptop which took me 10 to 15 minutes last time on an Acer Aspire 3-series. I really could not have completed this repair in under an hour without such ATTENTION TO DETAIL!!! Thanks again, and best of luck on your future videos, and other endeavors! ✌️

Really detailed instructions and excellent video production. Fixed my kid’s SE inside of about 2hrs. The tools that came with my replacement screen kit were lousy. I recommend using the grade of tools shown in the video...especially the screen pry tool. Also, keep the whole job contained in a tray, box or some type of container that won’t let the screws fall on the floor. And bring lots of patience...the guy in the video is very skilled and makes the job look easy. It’s not super difficult, but it will take time if you’ve never changed a screen before.

Thank you for making me a fixer of technology for the first time in my life. Huge. I love the iPhone 5/SE form factor very much, and I've boldly carried my SE without a case (as Lord Jobs intended) and with screen fully intact and free of defect until a rash decision to climb a fire escape in pajama pants a few days ago. Completely shattered the screen after a fall of at least six feet on onto pavement. (The phone, not me...thankfully). I had a water-damaged (I think) SE at home, and your video gave me the confidence to attempt a screen assembly swap, and you saved me at least $80. One note; if you don't replace the home button in such a swap, the iPhone says "Unable to activate Touch ID on this iPhone". I don't care. I have a clean screen. BIG THANKS, JRE. Great production values, great instructions, nutritionally dense repair video!

Absolutely amazing guidance! Maybe 1st timer’s luck - my little metal doo-hikey behind the home button went straight in! Much smug. Honestly though, this has got to be one of the best ‘how to’s I have come across in a long time. Many thanks.

With your help, I was able to fix my phone without any issues! The screen (glass+LCD) and cheap tool kit with shipping cost me $36, and the repair took me about an hour (of rewinding and pausing the video). I had replaced the screen on my 3gs a long time ago, and this repair was comparable in difficulty (maybe a little easier, since this time I didn't have to worry about taking the glass apart from the LCD). Thank you very much for this tutorial!

Appreciate for the video. It helped me so much to fix the issue on the screen ( horizontally stripes + touch screen problem ! I removed these flex cables and brushed there gently and put them back again and it worked perfectly ) i believe I cudn’t succeed if you did not shared this detailed video . 100 % great video , shows all we need to know. Thank you so much.

Excellent tutorial! Showed every step. I'd suggest telling people to have a small electronics screwdriver kit. My replacement screen came with small tools but my kit has magnetic screwdriver which helps a ton as you set those tiny screws in place. Also, I have "mag-light" on my phone (magnifier with light) which helped a lot when fixing my son's phone.

Thank you 👍🏼....Having now completed the screen change, and the battery ( courtesy of your ‘other’ video) with no errors, I have to say you made it look too easy. Certainly not easy for the visually challenged and some aspects it felt like it was a race to get to the end. The screen suction cup was pretty useless, not helped a lot, by my screen looking like ‘crazy paving’. Refitting the camera probably took me the longest, very very fiddly, and needed slight adjust to make sure the camera lens was centralised in the front plate hole. We got there in the end though without any adjustments, which was a relief after nearly 3 hours..😂.

Thanks Jerry! I just did this! took me all day but the video really helped. What I would say to others is you need a good Torx screwdriver kit - my main issue was getting the metal panel off the old screen with terrible screwdrivers. I had to go into a shop and ask someone to get the final screw out!

I just replaced my screen. Everything went well until right at the end. The screen was basically not fitting back into the frame. I had read some comments of people breaking the screen in this last step. Thank goodness I came across @Kodi Thorn's suggestion to press one side at a time. I worked the screen in from top to bottom by pressing only on the left, then only on the right hand side. I was still very careful with this step, but everything went well.
    Happy Days!
    Thanks @JerryRigEverything!

This was the best video I found. It was the perfect length, and camera angles were perfect for all the tricky spots. The only issue I ran into was that if you have broken glass, the suction cup is not going to do anything. But you showed the "secret spot", so it just took a thin razor blade to pop up. I had one odd screw that the magnetic screwdriver wouldnt hold. Odd.
