    Russo is by far the superior boxer and won without a doubt, but alot of wilders jabs were overlooked.

    Outstanding performance by the Italian against a awkward and tall fighter who went on to win the Heavyweight Title, defend it ten times and is a sure bet for the Hall of Fame. Well Done Clemente Russo! Bravo.

      @@Skinjob Nobody, although Wilder did have the wbc title his best wins are against a 40 year old non-champion Ortiz who's highest rating was 4th as a contender. There's many more deserving former champions who beat better fighters and won more titles that couldn't enter the hall of fame, if they couldn't make it, neither can Wilder.

    I'm Italian and I don't like Wilder, but amateur boxing has a completely different approach. Everything is bet on 3Round and the judges' decisions reward the style that the effectiveness of the punches ... Unfortunately Russo never turned pro I would have liked to see him for 12 rounds ... Wilder arrived at the Olympics after two years of starting boxing, he is not a technical giant but with a terrifying punch, and in professionalism this with much more weight ...

    I commentatori britannici avevano il culo che rodeva perché la loro cazzo di isoletta non ha portato manco un pugile in finale, e nel 2012 sì che hanno fatto le magagne per fare vincere quel deficiente di Joshua contro Cammarelle. Quello sì che era uno scandalo. Wilder-Russo sarà stato pure una piaga, e in effetti non sono stati 8min esaltanti, ma Russo penso girasse al largo di Wilder perché già allora si sapeva che il buon Deontay era uno scarso tecnicamente, ma con un imprevedibile colpo potente che, caschetto e tutto, poteva mandarti al creatore.
    Per il resto, spiace che Russo nelle finali si caghi sempre un po'... Ma resta cmq un bel pugile

    Terribili i commentatori inglesi, si permettono di chiamare Russo, Ballerina, invece Russo come dilettante era veramente un fenomeno che ha condotto un match perfetto surclassando Wilder. Secondo i simpatici commentatori inglesi Russo per non essere una ballerina avrebbe dovuto piazzarsi a centro ring a scambiare con Wilder che era il triplo di lui 🤦?

    All these negative comments about Wilder don't seem to understand he had literally just taken up the sport a little over a year earlier. Ten title defenses later, highlight legendary knockouts and millions of dollars later, who's laughing now lol.

      15 years, 10 Title defenses and tens of millions of dollars later, Wilder is still not a pinch more skilled than his olympic bronze medalist self. For someone who boxes for a living, that itself is an achievement.

      ​@@laraywilliams6627 the only generational thing about Wilder is his right cross. I have personally met randoes that box recreationally who have:
      - a better defense
      - a larger offensive arsenal
      - a larger gas tank
      than Wilder.
      good thing he's fighting in the weakest heavyweight division of boxing history. 90s heavyweight boxers would use him as a heavy bag. even today, he wouldn't even be in top 20 in super middleweight or below.

The Hawk Jackson is the only fighter in the last 25yrs that has the knockout highlights of Wilder. Not to mention him constantly being outweighed 30 -40lbs.

      @@laraywilliams6627 talents of this generation are not fighting in the HW division. Mayweather, Pacquiao, Canelo, Terrence Crawford, Gervonta Davis... they all fight supermid or below.
      Long gone are the days of Heavyweight being the top boxing division. Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Riddick Bowe and Lennox Lewis all retired.
      If we're looking for an active boxer to carry Hawk's torch, I vote Gervonta Davis over Wilder.

      @@RoonVonBismarckhe’s 5’11 1/2 and would be a cruiserweight as a pro I don’t think that very small for a cruiserweight. The average cruiserweight is like 6’1 a little less a little more. You got freaks like this in the division who are 200lb at 6’7 but as you can see he knows how to fight people who are a lot taller then him.

    Tyson Fury clearly watched this fight. Wilder never learned how to box and can't fight when he's forced backwards and off balance. He can't throw his right when crowded or off his back foot. He got by and made a fortune with pure athleticism and his right against very, very carefully cherry-picked opponents. Fury was the first pro he fought who could box and wasn't 700 years old.

Helenius is a 38 year old journeyman, and that's being generous, who was Wilder's sparring partner for years. Wilder knew exactly what he was going to do. Start across the ring and walk into him with his hands down.

      @@ImbetterthanDWade his pro resume was cherry picked. Any literate person can read the names. It's also pretty much common knowledge. The amateurs are not the pros, he got as far as he did by being an elite athlete and punching. However, he got exposed in the Russo. Watch the Clemente Russo fight in the 2008 Olympics and then read the names and rankings on his resume. If you take out Fury, he fought ONE universally ranked pro in his whole pro career, middle aged Luis Ortiz was ranked 6. That's it. 43 or however many fights, 11 title defenses, two universally ranked opponents, one was 40 years old, the other beat him up three times. It's not excuses, it's facts readily available to anybody and commonly known within boxing.

    This should be a blue print fight for usyk. Wilder has not advanced at all in ability so if wilder and usyk do fight expect this over 12 rounds.

    Se questo si chiama box credo hagler tyson frezer ali quelli del passato che tenevano la gente incollata al televisore quello so che era pugilato, io credo che questi due stanno facendo un'altra disciplina cioè rissa da strada ma non certo lo box che ho visto di 30 o 40 anni fa. Quello si che valeva la pena di stare svegli fino a l'una di notte x vedere ali frezer tyson ecc..non questi pupazzi che ballano abbracciati in tutte le riprese mhaa

      Wilder has always had only one thing. Which is straight right. He can't box for shit. Hence why when it comes to points, he ain't even coming close at the Olympics. But in pro boxing, apart from maybe 2-3 boxers, all you really need for most of your career is a good right hand lol.

    Russo is shit. Points 3 and 4 never landed! I also saw a number of jabs from Wilder weren't counted. It's the same story in all of Russo's fights, he never lands and punches but gets points. There is definitely corruption in amateur boxing.

      It’s scored by 3 judges touching their paddles within a fraction of a second, so all three must have conspired within like .2seconds... that’s a pretty fast conspiracy to plan... and SEVEN!!!!

      @@pugilemoltobene3708 its easy, you just tell the judges to press the button whenever your man (Russo) swings and makes contact (evening it's not a scoring punch which his never really are) and not to press it as often for the opponent. It's no more unlikely than the opposite conclusion - that all the judges don't know how to score boxing and all of them think that slaps or punches to the shoulders and back of the head are scoring shots. The truth is its prob a mixture of both (incompetence and corruption) and that is how he's managed to get so far.
