Been looking at this drill for a year or so..finally bought it..fantastic!!!..perfect for plumbing..use it all day on 2 6ah batteries...
It's awesome!
Hey bill great Video I’m fourteen and want to be an electrician, learn a lot from you thanks
Great to hear. Electrician is a great trade!
Good luck man! I hope you’re eventually able to get into the trade! Get in young and stick with it, you’ll definitely be setting yourself up for success! 👍
piece of advice for you: get comfortable with math. there are a dozen formulas you will need to be able to work with, and while there are cheat sheets and apps available, understanding the formula makes the calculations a whole lot easier.
@@kenbrown2808 thanks man, it’s a benefit that I love math lol
@@nathancortez3118 truth is, I actually understand algebra better after learning the formulas. my brother is the mathematician in my family.
Thanks, Bill! Nice demo.
Thanks Tim!
Very Nice Tool Sparky 😉👍🏽⚡️
Thanks Bigmo!
Man been needed this 😂😂
I hear that. Thanks Skip!
I remember the old Milwaukee jobs that if they got bound up, their went a wrist an arm or a knee cap.
I had a wrist that was sore for about 6 months from an old high torque Bosch drill when the 2 1/8" bit got caught on something so I do understand.
I have also learned this lesson 😂
@@strangerofthe2067 It's a tough lesson to learn.
my absolute worst was a dewalt pistol grip. the shape of the trigger kept my finger from sliding off when it bound up, and it took my arm nearly 360 degrees before I got loose.
I got into the trade 4 years ago and I've only ever used the Milwaukee hole hawg. Call me spoiled i guess. I just barely missed the days of the old corded hawgs. I'm pretty sure the Milwaukee has the clutch built in. Unfortunately my current one tends to bind up more than it should and get stuck in wood (as my apprentice did today.) As one person said, continuous use does cause them to overheat. But for light use such as a remodel, they're great.
Guy comes back from break and wonders how so many holes got put in that stud he was about to put up.....
Great tool review!
LOL! Thanks!
Hi Bill - I’ve got an off topic question for you. I just picked up the new Dewalt Xtreme SDS hammer drill. I noticed that there was some oil that leaked out of the drill after using. I didn’t know if you saw that with yours…
Nice tool for the money ... Thx ...
Yeah, that was my impression. Thanks Eddy!
Good video Bill.
Thanks Aaron!
I bought it. It's awesome
Great to hear, thanks!
Sometimes one speed drills and impact that just focus on one thing, instead of them having modes, do things faster for some reason than multiple modes.
Less to go wrong as well.
Hey sparky, for a minute I thought that was a Nextel phone on your belt 😮
Nice looking drill. With the drill bit, does it fit between joists spaced 12" apart?
Depends on the length of your drill bit. You might have trouble with the auger bit length but not the self-feed bits.
I bought one and thought I need a 7/16 arbor because that’s what the package has as the size. But a standard 1/2” is what it takes
They sell both.
Needed that battery info, because the drill is crap without big battery
Looks like a drilling machine. Good video Sparky.
It pretty much is. Thanks Gary!
Can you do a 20v bs 60v comparison please
yes please!
I think I'll still stick to my old dewalt for drillout. one thing I've found about battery tools; they aren't intended for continuous use. if you burn through a battery, all in one go, you need to stop and let it cool off; while a corded tool, as long as you have it on a properly sized cord, can go all day without overheating.
Great point, batteries are best used for short bursts of power.
@@SparkyChannel great for pick up work, but corded tools are still best for main production.
compare the DCB208 8Ah battery and the flex volt on that tool?
That would be an interesting comparison. I should think the 2 batteries would give quite similar power.
If you’re drilling into a pre-existing wall studs does this product worked well? are you able to get in between the studs to drill holes?
Oh yes. Since it's a right angle drill it's perfect for pre-existing wall studs.
@@SparkyChannel It seems like by the size of the drillbit and the tool itself it might be a tight fit if the studs are 16 on center.
It is the same size as a regular drill. A short drill bit could help. Unless you have 24 on center. This is just stronger for larger holes. I bought 1 thinking it was superman. But gonna need 250$ battery
Great vid
Thanks Dave!
How big a hole saw/self feed bit is it rated for?
2 3/8" for self-feed bits, about 4" hole saw.
I want to se the Milwaukee vs DeWalt, I think could be awesome 😎
I tell you what, those are both powerful tools!
You say 199.00 for the bare tool? I would have been bought that beast . I have been waiting on it to drop under 250.00 for a year but cant get that lucky break I need to score it great review. Dewalt owes you one .
They have an earlier stud and joist drill: DEWALT DCD470B 60V MAX In-Line Stud & Joist Drill with E-Clutch System (Tool Only): Amazon: amzn.to/2YRH2Sg
Are you thinking of that one? It's a two speed and a much better drill, but bigger, heavier and more costly.
Ya I seen that one as well, the 20v you have in your review is the one I want really, its sitting firm at 279.00 with no nothing except tax and a receipt.
What is power difference between this and 60v flexvolt version
The 60v Flexvolt version is considerably stronger. It's a two speed and a much better drill, but bigger, heavier and more costly. I own both.
Flexvolt advantage or power detect that is the question
How about both?
I’ve had a very dependable, very reliable one of these that I’ve been using regularly for a couple years now and it works GREAT!!! But mine is red and black though… 😉
Milwaukee trash 😂
Hole Hawg?
Ok, How bout a drill for planting flowers without damaging wrist and giving much better safety factor?
Well, this one does have a better safety factor.
@@SparkyChannel is there a long neck auger bit for planting that you'd recommend?
@@dannyw777 Power planter. they have many diameters and lengths.
Will probably twist off shaft. Those things are not that strong
How many holes for charge bateria
It depends on what size holes and how thick the wood is, but around 70.
How do these compare to the milwaukee holehawg and super hawg? Dewalt has come a long way.
Hmmm. Not sure. I might have to make a video about that.
I'm not a fan of Milwaukee anything power tools but the holehawg corded drill motor mops the floor with dewalt holehawg drill. Also Milwaukee sawzall mops the floor with dewalt sawzall.
@@bryanblood7063 not really they are pretty much close . I do plumbing and I’ve used both . I’ll take the dewalt with the clutch any day though
👍
Thanks Theo!
GOOD FOR PLIMBING?
Yes. It's best use is plumbing. It's especially good at drilling large (perhaps 2 3/8" for 2" PVC) through double top or double bottom plate.
@@SparkyChannel THANKU SIR SPARKY.THANKU...LOVE YOUR CHANNEL.
