Approximately 6 months ago, I was browsing CZcams without knowing absolutely anything about the world of Chess, so I got a video of you against Magnus Carlsen. I saw it and I was very surprised at how the person who made the video analyzed the plays and more than said that you 2 are the best in the world in the last decade. I was impressed by the way you Hikaru calculate the plays and more that they said that you are the king of the "blitz", I began to watch your blitz games and I was shocked when I saw that in 1 second you made the best possible decision, and I was more surprised when in a blitz or bullet tournament, I don't remember. I saw that you were champion against Magnus. At that moment my head exploded and I started playing chess all day, and currently all day I have in my head chess plays of games that I play.
I just have to tell you that you are my idol and you are the person who made me fall in love with chess.
I'm from Mexico and I speak Spanish and Middle English, but that doesn't stop me from missing any of your games, or yours, I'm at work but sideways watching your games live in the World Cup. I don't miss the analysis you do even with subtitles automatically generated by CZcams hahaha.
Good luck and lose or win this tournament you are my idol and for me you are the best in the world

Vidit truly is the kryponite for hikaru. beating hikaru 2 times, and losing a winning match against the top guy ,when everyone thought hikaru finally joined the no. 1 rankings.
đ vidit's purpose in this tournament is to torture hikaru
Play hikaru bum
LMAO Vidit genuinely has it in for Hikaru đ
To make matters worse, Vidit beats Hikaru twice and then proceeds to lose to Ian twice, possibly determining the whole event winner :|
Actually Vidit was never winning in the entire game. Each time I tried to play the supposed "winning line" for white, the eval corrected itself to a small edge for White. Chesscom was just too shortsighted.
If anything, vidit was fighting for the draw pretty much the entire game. He was close to clinching it. Props to Ian for sacking two pawns towards the end to prolong the struggle.
The one time we finally root for Vidit after what he's done to Hikaru, he blunders a winning position then is unable to hold Ian to a draw, then loses placing Ian +0.5 ahead of the tournament. Truly unfortunate...
It's not just that he blundered a winning position, he did it 2 times.
It's all part of Hikaru's master plan to smoke Ian and Gukesh in the last rounds and win the tournament

For those that do not know, the thumbnail picture is from an Oscar-winning Indian song named 'Natu-Natu' from the Indian move RRR. I'm not sure why Hikaru used this reference other than the fact that Prag is Indian. Cool to see, though. Did not expect it.
its just trolling prag, since natu natu song is indian and is known to foreigners too. nothing malicious, I bet, from Hikaru, just bantering.

Wow, that Vidit loss was baffling today! Two winning positions blundered and he avoided a clear drawing line at the end. I get it, heâs trying to up his points and the nerves are there, but he played way too gutsy at the end.
Obviously lost on purpose imo.
â@@ichatterbotnah, he had to win atleast 3 games to win the tournament that's why he risked the game especially since he had the white pieces. He must have felt like he was so close to winning the game that he tried to push his luck even more.

0:28 Rameshbabu pragnanadha ha ha đ
This is a great example of where not only can you miss the 'optimal' engine move, you can sometimes even see the optimal move and choose not to play it because of actual human reasons. In this game Hikaru chooses a theoretically weaker move because it keeps his moves simple and Pragg's moves complicated.
Remember the engine best move is determined in a vacuum of no time pressure, it is not necessarily the best move for a human to play if the reason that it's theoretically strong is that it leads to an extremely complicated strategy requiring lots of thinking time that you may not have.
Hikaru has the wife buff now

Vidit straight up ruining the candidates bro
Hikaru: I'm experienced now, professional. Fortress' been broke, been flagged down a couple of times, I'm bad! Been solving puzzles. I done something new for this match. I done checkmate while castling. That's right. I have checkmated while castling. I done en-passant checkmate. I done blindfold games, thrown stockfish in jail. That's bad! Only last week I jousted against a knight, sieged a rook, Excommunicated a bishop! I'm so mean I make openings close!
Bad, fast! Fast! Fast! Last night I found a checkmate in 40, hit the clock and was in the podium before the tournament started.
The game panned out well. I was watching for a while in bits and I couldnât really tell which way things would go, but I saw you had slight time advantage. One thing I will say is that I observed good patience from both of you. So that was one of my main takeaways. Well done for getting the win. You are now within the respectable range. If it works out in the end then the entire run was good is how I will see it. As the pressure and the excitement mount, I will say, remember your routine along the way so that you continue as you have begun.
