    for everyone wondering when you actually use titaniu. The main usage of titanium ALLOYS is in all places where you need high biocompatibility (ex. screen in bones etc) that means that it can't hurt the user (in opossition to other alloys like steel), it is also very light for it's strenght so titanium alloys were (or still are) used in planes (although mangesium and alluminium alloys are more popular at the moment), it is also highly resistant to corrosion so if you need light material with high corrosion resistance it will be much better than mangesium and alluminium alloys (you can also use titanium, or titanium compound as coating), and lastly TiO2 is known also as titanium white and is really good white dye, also safe to use in food

    Nice demo! Copper work-hardens so if you were to plot the force vs compression you'd see that the first mm or so of deformation took relatively little force but then the force per mm would go up quite a bit.

    Titanium and aluminum have excellent strength to weight ratios, but their density is quite low compared to steel so their actual volumetric strength isn't absurdly greater, from my understanding.

    This is probably my favorite hydraulic press video. Others are like "wHAT HapPEN whEn WAteRmelOn is SQUISh???" But this one actually seems interesting. I never learned about how metals compare to each other besides on the periodic table. This demonstration makes me curious about how different shapes/angles and sizes would compare to each other.

      @@Doggeslife MarazA is totally right. If you spent a single worthwhile minute to READ about the materials.... Shear strength of A36 Steel alloy: 46 GPa, Titanium: 44 GPa, Aluminum: 26 GPa. Ti is basically AS STRONG as the highest grades of Building Steels, and weighs around 50% less. You ignoramus.

      Yes IRON, (Fe) is pretty soft and weak..
      There are steels which are a lot stronger than Ti Alloys, but also heavier (but cheaper)

      Not even close to as strong as steel. Steel easily wins by almost double per unit volume. Of course, titanium is stronger when weight is important.
