It took Martin a year to learn the accent and he absolutely nailed it many reasons why I adore Martin super talented actor❤️

Being from Liverpool I can tell you that we know its a bad accent, but in fairness it's probably not easy for an actor to get right so fair play for having a decent go.... There aren't many (or any?) actors from outside Liverpool who have ever done a great scouse accent if I'm honest.
Whoever did the casting deserves a pat on the back. All the actors were perfect. Best show I've seen in a while.d
I know Martin Freeman did a good job because my brother didn't know who he was and legitimately thought he was a scouse actor.
He didn't lay it on too thick to the point where different audiences around the world (especially in America) wouldn't be able to understand him.
Heart-breaking yet with heart-warmimg bits in it..All the actors in it were just superb. Casey and Marcus outstanding.
I have long respected our brothers across the sea for their ability tell stories with true emotions. The kind we actually all live with.

Maybe, but this series is nothing but another propaganda hit piece to reinforce a negative image of Liverpool. The BBC only deem this City fit to set gritty crime dramas. Nothing else.

Martin is a fine actor. He got the accent down to a t. At points I was watching it and the acting was so good it just felt like a documentary. What a TV series. The ending was a bit of an anticlimax but I can forgive that because the rest of the series was wrold class. I thought Martin's best work was Fargo, however he's topped that here. Well done to everyone involved in the show. It was amazing.

Been watching this its a great show with good dark humour and love the accents having stayed in Liverpool a few times. Acting is very convincing by all actors especially the lead but can't stop thinking the lead role was made for Stephen Graham.

I like British police shows but like American shows.. they have become a formula. Dysfunctional police, probably relationship issues a system that does not work. ya ya.. whatever. Sure I'll watch it because unlike the police in these shows, my life is pretty normal and it adds some excitement to my sane world. But are the realistic.. for most of us.. nope. The more they talk about being realistic.. the less real they are. He's a likable actor though.
Another programme where the sound is rubbish, what ever happened to competent sound recordist,s, mumbling doesn't cut it

I'd like to see another series of _Sherlock_ myself, but I don't expect the actors involved to be sitting in their homes doing nothing while waiting for a phone call from Steven Moffat or Mark Gatiss.
