Martin Freeman is phenomenal in this.
Totally agree
His best performance in my opinion
I wasn't really a Freeman fan after The Office until THIS.
It's brilliant, he's brilliant.
Talk about 'gritty' drama, good grief 😮
The stress and anxiety just oozes out of this character. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Best praise I can give Martin, is that I know people EXACTLY like the character he plays. And he does it very, very well
One of the best shows I've ever watched for sure
Binge watched in one day. Freeman is absolutely sensational. Can’t wait for series 2.
I love british series and films. They are so different and unique. Love the series
I'm from Liverpool born n bred Martin freeman what ever he done research get onto the character to do the accent is incredible not many many people can pull it off but he certainly nailed it
I literally binge watched this it was so good. It was really stressful to watch and it was like you were actually there with him and following him on his day to day problem's and issues. His accent is amazing. If you weren't from Liverpool you would probably think that's its like this all the time when its probably not just in the really rough areas like every other town or city.
You've nailed that comment there mate, I've just watched it again, and as an office fan and Tolkien fan, and ultimately a martin freeman fan, he nailed the accent like 90% well, its a very hard accent to do, ours, he could do with a little bit of staccato on the end of some syllables if we're being uber critical, but from tim getting a bit bullied by Lee in the Office, you'd back Chris 100% as this seasoned scouse copper against anyone - on the second watch i didn't realise how from Liverpool you have to be to even fully understand it, the txt messaging between marko at al - if ye not from Liverpool, you won't get it, its so succient and well acted its a triumph, and yes, if anything we haven't got it no where as bad as alot of working class towns across Britain, its excellent, in series 3 bring in Jolie comer and Stephen Graham and make it the most realistic crime drama since the sopranos, plus hats off to the BBC, this could of been watered down, but its BOSS la, immense, Martin F lad, this comment ever reaches you laddd, this city is one of remembrance and unity and justice, - everyone has cried and loved and talked in office references for over 20 years, I hope I see you round the city when you come, Tim, Bilbo, Chris, belter
Such a great drama. Short series, not over drawn out.
He absolutely killed this first season binged it, can’t wait for the 2nd season.
series ..... British
@@RosieHarp watched too many American shows 🤣 you are correct it’s a series.
@@FTW191 🙂
@@RosieHarpI'm English born and bred but I still say season, the whole series is a series and the individual seasons are called as such, can't help that our language has been americanised over the years, we consume so much of their media so it's inevitable
@@SgtByrd93 Yes you're right, it is an Americanism.
Whether one accepts being 'Americanised' or not is personal choice I suppose 🙂 I'll stick with series
They captured perfectly in the first moments that core-chilling sense of descending into hell.
they are recording season 2 in a street next to me - this is amazing, i am so glad they are doing a season 2 :)
I loved every character in this. Looks really real.
Loved every second of this.brilliant
I really like his female work partner. She seems very vulnerable and doesn't say much, a very sympathetic character
amazing series
Great show!
Série PERFEITA!!!!
Louca pra ver a próxima temporada. Elenco fortíssimo e Martin está surreal em um dos seus muitos melhores trabalhos.🌟👏👏👏👏
It's Whack a mole..except the moles wear trackies! 🤣
Quite the best police drama ever.
It's on a par with Line of Duty I think .... well getting close
Knocked it out of the park on the first season
SUUUUUUUCH a good show
The accent work in this is outstanding. Know alot of the Cast are Scouse but Freeman's accent is perfect to the ear.
Know during the filming of the first series he would go around Toxteth and Smithdown Road into shops with his facemask on to practice. He knew it worked when no one would question him about it. Putting the work into practice.
I live in liverpool, it’s very accurate 😊🤣
Nice to see Emily Fairn's ("Casey") WHITE of the eyes (instead of yellow or red).
I was an SA on series 2 in November
Lindo lindo ❤️
This show was so good! ❤️
Amazing series. Ignore the idiots who have posted here so far.
They are filming S2 in the next street to me tonight - fucking amazing :)
Doctor John Watson.. Is that you?
Its something else💀
Was literally like in the top ten likes
Scally scouse cops we in Liverpool have seen these types of drama before remember Merseybeat/Good cop/Liverpool 1 still given Liverpool a bad image
Shut up lad. It's based off the experience of a real life bizzie. He's literally in this video ffs. What? They should get a scouse bizzie to talk about his experience and set it in Detriot because you can't handle a bit banter from mancs at the footy? Have a minute lad.
Liverpool gives itself a bad name 😂
YO im so early

Actors not from liverpool can not do a scouse accent 100%. There’s always a pitch or a twang on certain words that isn’t quite right. However what is interesting if you hear actors in peakey blinders they try and talk in a brummy accent and sound scouse.
I thought his Scouse accent was spot on.
Peaky's Brummie accents were very impressive too.
You can't have every role played by a native of that city, very blinkered view.
@@RosieHarp why not ?
It's not practical, you need the right person for the right role based on their acting. Accent is secondary
@@RosieHarp ahhh right. So if a role was to play a New York cop and the actor had a Punjabi accent that would be ok because he’s a good actor. Yeah makes sense 🙄
don't use ridiculous analogies
or the eyeroll emoji which expired in 2017 .......
Freeman is never convincing, just like Nicolas Cage you just wonder how do these guys get any work.
Haha, not a chance on this series.
He's brilliant
