What a nice peaceful, enchanting and very informative video. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My overseas partner went casually mudlarking the other day due to the stormy 🌊 weather. He found a brass bell with a wooden handle on the beach! 🔔 I couldn’t believe it when I saw it. Talk about “ringing” in the New Year!! 🎉😊

Mmmm. Red raspberries are my absolute favorite fruit. I love cooked mushrooms; I will eat them in anything, but I don't like them raw at all. No matter how knowledgeable I was (I'm not, lol) I don't think I would ever feel confident enough to forage my own. Fun, different video ladies!

Kate, I understand your enthusiasm! I grew up in a college town, in a neighborhood with one of the world's leading mycologists, Dr Orson K Miller Jr. It was so much fun setting out on hunts through our yards and woods. I would report back to him and he would come out and photograph them and take samples. One of the best joys of my childhood. His books are really interesting if you want to catch up on North American species.

What a wonderful place, and yay for trees and mushrooms! Fly Agaric grows here in my hometown in coastal Australia, they crop up in shady places around April-May, which seasonally is probably your Sept-Oct. We used to go mushroom hunting when I was a kid, it was a solid Autumn tradition, blackberries too. I'm glad to have grown up in a time (70s/80s) when there was so much foraging to be done. 🍄❤

Yep, the biggest mushrooms I have ever seen were in Italy, god knows where I was, but the shop window was full of them and they were as big as the window. Yummy. But yes, never ever pick wild mushrooms, they can be toadstools and poisonous. I love mushrooms. Here in Spain you get lovely ones.❤❤❤

I spent part of my life as an Environmental Awareness Officer and once knew the Latin names for everything even the mosses which are structurally beautiful ,to the fungi. I am also interested in Shamanic practice so the Fly Agaric is fascinating and would not have been out of place at Christmas. Who said Latin doesn't come in handy at some point in your life. Feels like a past life now and was probably at least 30 years ago. Thankyou for the walk amongst the ancient trees ; I loved it . There are trees that bleed or ooze if you prefer rainbow sap and couldn't help thinking about that when you said they shot at the trees . The world is one great mystery from the repeating pattern of crystals to infinitely glorious detail of everything in nature. I lost my husband in October having nursed him for several years ; he was like a Buddha and would have loved this place too. I will always centre myself back in nature in places like this so thankyou for this film.
