A six-year-old giant panda, Meng Lan, was filmed breaking out of his enclosure at Beijing Zoo. A staff member later used food to lure the animal back to the enclosure. Meng Lan is the most mischievous panda in the zoo, according to staff.

He’s always been an energetic one, what bothers me is that some comments really are just written without consideration….he was born and raised by humans. He can’t be released because he won’t have a way to live. The habitats have been greatly affected. And many people say that it wouldn’t have happened if they were being poached and their habitats weren’t being destroyed. For those of you who don’t know, because the panda is a very special animal to China. The government keeps a strict watch on pandas and their numbers. If a panda is poached, it’s considered a very serious offence with very large punishment in 3 forms of fines, community service and jail time. No one tries to poach pandas in China. And as for their habitat, it’s important to realize that China is trying really hard to bring their habitat back. China understands that they had destroyed many parts of it. And it’s been a few generations since that time. Pandas often gives birth to multiple children, but they are terrible at taking care of their young, many abandon or even sit on their young. Pandas also only choose one panda cub to raise, doesn’t matter if she gave birth to twins or triplets. Their reproduction speed is also very slow. It’s important to know that…even in an enclosure, it’s safer than outside.
Yes Amy I know all of those things but he still should be in a sanctuary somewhere then to be FREE!! All the money china has really!

He looked so Happy once he was over the fence. He needs more room to play and climb. If you sat & looked at the same 4 walls in your house over the years wound you not want something different to look at also?
In the wild pandas are fkin useless, they are endangered due to their own existence like they're so pathetic. They can't reproduce properly, they eat bamboos even tho their teeth is sharp asf because they are slow and weak compared to other species of bears.
Pandas still exists due to human intervention which is pretty hilarious, without us they would've be gone in a few years.

They don't know how to take care of themself. They will be dead in the wild very quickly unless they have training of some sort before releasing it into the wild

@@ishan2219 They are in a sanctuary. The only times they were at zoo is when they were loaned to zoos overseas.
@@iii___iii for pandas, they were breed. As in nature they are just distinguishing. So they are never REMOVED from natural. Instead, a program is on going for returning breed pandas to the nature, but only if they passed the training process.

@@nicename6258 every animal has its own life cycle. As long as they are not in danger of extinction, it’s best to leave it to nature. The amount of resource and money spent on conserving Pandas could be used for other endangered species. Just saying, because the animal is cute and cuddly, it gets a lot of resources. Think of it long term, where the majority of the population grew up in captivity, they will not survive in the wild if they are ever released.
