    In this video, I am able to see up close all the expression that Andrea carries in her face as she is feeling the emotions of each of the songs she sings. I just wish there was a way that the band could be faded a bit and Andrea could be heard better while singing. She has all the right notes and words and music - but seems to be droned out by the band. Never-the-less, it is such a joy to watch her sing and swing.

    Great concert, and Andrea demonstrating how much her performance presence as matured from the older videos when she was 16 which we can still watch. And I agree wit another comment that the recording could have benefited by raising the balance more in favour of the vocal microphone. I really hope to see Andrea perform in the UK some day

    Andrea is so talented and attractive. She wears the cutest flower print dresses at times. She is such a breath of fresh air compared to all the off the chain weirdness out there that has become the norm. Thank you Andrea, for being yourself and being happy with yourself as you are.

    • @rlud304
      @rlud304 Před 2 lety

      Eww, are you like 80? That is one weird,, cringe "compliment" I know you meant well but it's creepy sexist and so gross. She is a talented, accomplished jazz musician deserving of respect. Because she happens to be a young woman you think you're entitled to diminish her by commenting on her appearance and making comparisons?
      "Being happy with yourself AS YOU ARE?" WTF does that even mean? The level of disconnect of a person (with an overinflated sense of importance ) who thinks he's giving a compliment when actually he's being insulting is always astonishing to me

    • @jimcarter6669
      @jimcarter6669 Před 2 lety

      @@rlud304 I'm not 80, but you sound 12. Go soak your head. (Probably shaved) You obviously missed it, and you'll get absolutely zero apology from me. (Hint: admiration of beauty in my part of the world is not solely an expression of lust.) I have no doubt that this is what your generation derives from it, though. Watch some old romantic movies in black and white. It's not always about getting between the sheets. I would suggest you are the one with the dirty mind. Get over yourself and stop pushing your so called morality on others.

    • @rlud304
      @rlud304 Před 2 lety

      @@jimcarter6669 My head is shaved? Why? What does that even mean? Haha And I'm 12? Really. Yeah cause lots of 12 year old girls watch jazz performances and tell creepy old men who check out young women's bodies that no one is interested in their disgusting opinion.
      Your part of the world? Oh you must be from the part of the world where obscenely entitled gross old men with zero shame and zero capacity for self-reflection are all pleased with themselves after making idiotic comments like "happy with yourself as you are" 🤮
      Watch black and white movies? I happen to have seen all the classics cause I am a film buff, but that is completely independent of that argument being so very stupid. It doesn't have to be about lust to be objectifying. It's about treating a person with appropriate respect and that means comment on what this is about which is the music, big band, her talent... not your approval of what she's wearing. I can't believe this needs to be explained to you.
      I'm sure after years of study and countless hours of practice mastering her instruments of voice and trumpet, after yet another flawless performance, of all the things to have opinions on, she's glad you like her dress and that she's met your approval for wholesomeness 🙄
      Btw, she's 21 in that video and now a 26 year old accomplished brilliant performer well deserving of acclaim, not a "breath of fresh air"...Eww

      @jimcarter6669 Před 2 lety

      @@rlud304 who said anything about checking out bodies? You obviously know nothing about men. You must hand around a bunch of degenerates. She is not Èlia Bastida, they are not the Sant Andreu Jazz Band, it has nothing to do with them. It is a good jazz orchestra from the city of Valencia that has invited Andrea for their concert, only that.
      There is very much good Jazz in Spain outside of the "Chamorro universe" fortunately. Regarding orchestras are there quite a few high-level ones: "Borondón Big Band" (Canary Islands), "SedaJazz" (Valencia), "Smack Big Dab" (Catalonia), "Taller de Musics" (Catalonia), "Andalucía Big Band" (Andalusia) and this "Big Band UJI" (Valencia), among others. There are videos of all of them on CZcams, for those who are interested.

    Неужели не понимает, что этим самым сильно позорит себя?!

    I very much enjoy Andrea's approach to the music but would prefer she sing in her native language...that or get some diction lessons and KNOW the words and what they mean! Some of these songs, I question if she knows what she's singing. Also, she was more confident on her horn, at eight years old than she is now...practice, practice, practice!
    Andrea, say this..."I must learn to pronounce my words, distinctly." Or there's always, the "My Fair Lady" approach, "The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain." I'd do both, were I her!
    "In time, the Rockies may cromble and Gibraltar may trumble?!?" When she first began singing, it was understandable...pros get the coaches they need. Her lyrics are distracting and in real need of improvement.
    And I love this girl!! I'd love her more if she stepped up her game and that help must come from...Broadway...yeah, Broadway would be an ideal place to find a language coach.

      To me, this kind of big band music, in contrast to the Sant Andreu Big Band, is too sterile, uninspired, and, in spite of good solo performances, ordinary easy listening music, unchanged since the 1930s, a waste of talent concerning Andrea Motis.
