Probably this is the 50th time that I listened to a whole playlist of Joan Chamorro's arrangements and I still amazed. Thanks for the good music, thanks to Andrea Motis and thanks to all the good people that are sharing this on CZcams
This is the purest music I have ever heard, smooth instumentation and the sweetest soft voice of a beautiful girl who radiates youth. No make up or fancy stage clothes, just simple, pure and honest music.
WHY are you commenting on her appearance tf. If you like this pure and honest music, talk about that. I do not see what makeup has to do with it OR if she chooses to wear it. This music is beautiful and is one of my favourite songs but you are focusing on the wrong thing.
@@teodorapausan9833 I wouldn't be so hard. There seems to be a discrepancy of the appearance and the seasoned singing. So why not pointing it out. If someone wants just the music, one can listen to the audio stream. I myself find it very pleasing to encounter such a plain and natural appearance in the sea of painted puppets out there.
Andrea, as a singer, has a way of becoming one with the music. She never attempts to be "the show" like so many singers do. It shows great instruction by Mr. Chamorro and great modesty by her. She's refreshing and a delight to listen to.
I like it that he never tries to sell sexiness. The girls are always modestly dressed and like you said they don’t try to be the show. You will never see any of Chamorro’s kids acting like Lady Gaga or Cardi B. thank goodness.
Neil S has hit it in the head. Andrea is not only a talented singer, she has mastered the jazz approach on sax and on trumpet. As a former musician (Woody Herman, etc), I can appreciate the approach JC has instilled in her. In fact, if I were about sixty years younger, I wouldn’t find it hard to fall in love with great gal!!!!
That's a bad thing? There's no need to bring people down to bring someone up. 😒 there's nothing wrong with how performers choose to perform. The fans love it so they keep doing it. Plus, they sing different genres. Jazz singers arent going to belt and start dancing, fool.
I've heard many versions of this classic but this is beyond doubt the best. Wonderful musicianship in every department. All hail the Catalonians for keeping Jazz alive. Mhhhm seems some people are hung up about the lyric. Her first language is not English - so get over it! Some goofball complained it doesn't rhyme! Neither does TS Eliot's "Wasteland'! Jesus! This is actually Jazz - and it's about interpretation; feeling and soul. Bloody 'ell!
I've played trumpet for decades and have also attempted to sing. Andrea Motis is in a high class of her own. No one compares to her excellent singing and trumpeting. The band is exquisite. I already loved them so much!
She is 20 years old here...barely out of diapers and with such natural musical knowledge. A prodigy that comes along once in a lifetime. We are blessed. Put on your headphones and enjoy.
This group is re-defining what smooth jazz is. I could listen and watch them for hours. Thanks to them for sharing their love of music with the rest of us.
Just discovered Andrea and her band. I'm blown away. She radiates a kind of internal focus, peace and balance. This is class. Jazz with a heart. Not a bloated show that's a 1000 notes per second race to impress. The quintet is also high level. The pianist, Ignasi Terraza, wow!
This piece of repertoire of Summer time is vary jazzy slow blues and has a nice tempo and the guitarist was Awesome. The Jazz Quintet of Andrea Motis Joan Chamorro & Scott Hamilton sounded really good and they played Summertime really well Of the Gershwin piece. I thought All the instruments of the Quintet band played wonderful solo's of Summer time and Andrea Motis had a lovely voice singing for a singer of summer time. Sean Chilton Blues Man Chilton
Yeah, I know what you mean. I listen to it on audio a lot, but I still pop in to watch the video from time to time. I see it just passed 9 million views, which is great. (and many millions more than when I first saw it!)
I've been listening to this song since the early '60s, it even used to be a standard here in Jacksonville, Florida, where the original Classics played it along with many other bands ... this version is just masterful. Every part of this is incredible ... but that interaction between the string bass and the piano on the solos, is just a work of art.
07-24-20: I came across this young lady today and man, was I blown away! She has an old soul to sing the way she does and this was the perfect rendition of Summertime that I have ever heard, and she plays the trumpet so well too! I'm looking forward to hearing more from her going forward. Love it!!
I love Scott Hamilton since I was a teenager, it is great to see him surrounded by great young musicians who are the luckiest young jazz musicians on Earth being so close to an incredible musician like Mr. Hamilton. Also: I think this is one of Andrea Motis's best performances: she is making something else and something very personal of an old classic.
Mario, Listen to this...Please take a look at this budding young jazz singer: Angelina Jordan. She is 14 now, but this is when she was 9 years old. It will blow your mind >> czcams.com/video/nwFloCPXzCs/video.html
I have loved this song for as long as I can recall ... the bluesy texture that ripples as risen bumps atop my arms, neck and skull.... the longing of a soul for something better yet probably not attainable .... can't we all relate, at some time or so in our own lives? Captured so perfectly in this incredible piece...
Take a classically trained trumpet player who uses the breath control and nuance of the instrument to utter perfection as vocalist and back her with virtuosos all around and you get this magnificent work of art. It is stunning how good she is and the band too.
Smokin! 🤩🤩🤩😍😍😍.. harmonia anaesthesia baby .. of the highest order😎😎😎 feel like I could jump out of plane without parachute and this track would float me down slowly and safely to Mother Earth🥳🥳🥳
Boy Oh Boy can't you hear the Miles Davis influence in her horn playing. The whole concept of Joan Chamorro, be it his quintet or full jazz band is fantastic. He has also discovered some sensational musicians and singers such as Eva and this girl, who is outstandingly multi talented. She is also one of the must sultry singers around today. Pure class in every department.
