I am the builder of these two sprinters. From the installation point of view, R2000 is easier installed and easier to connect cables.Secondly, the external noise RTX2000 is bigger than R2000. In terms of price, R2000 has surpassed RTX2000. To be honest, I have decided to replace RTX2000 with R2000 after modifying ten cars. It is worth it.

Thanks for the demo and comparison! Did you measure the decibel output on the RTX unit?
Maybe a better comparison is a nighttime test to avoid heat gain effect and heat the inside with same space heater to the same temperature and monitor same variables, e.g. time to cooling to a temperature (maybe 75F), power consumption over that time, and noise level. Not sure if the fan speed is a meaningful variable given the small circular diameter of the Velit air vents vs the squared larger squared output net on the RTX.

Yes we did! It seems we forgot to edit it in and we will upload a corrected version later. The decimal for RTX is also 58dB inside so it's almost identical. On the outside, RTX is significantly louder in the first 10 minutes and then quiets down to a similar level. It's a good idea but it is very challenging to control all the variables in real-world environment. We may build a simple heat chamber for more accurate comparison in the future. The biggest takeaway of this video is to demonstrate the difference in cooling capacity and the builder mentioned that RTX was not able to bring the temp down in the California summer.

Thank you for posting this information. I know people want specifics, but there’s so many variables. Appreciate you doing this. For the money, Velit 12 Volt AC appears to be the better buy than the 12 v X2 and Dometic rtx (2000?).

Thanks for your support! It is extremely challenging to control the variables in the real world.

Because of your video, I moved forward with purchase of the Velit 12 volt in black! Very excited! I have Victron system with Victron LFP 600 amp hrs and if average amp hr consumption is 30-40 amps (up to 650 watts), I’m hoping for 15 to 20 hours with AC solely. I don’t feel like it should be an issue, but any experience with connecting AC to busbar I.e Lynx DC distributor? Thanks for your input.

The power consumption varies based on ambient temperature. You should have no trouble getting 15h on a 90F day. The busbar connection would be a plug & play.

I feel you have a good product, but you need to reduce the variables in order to have a legitimate comparison. This video doesn’t really show any reason to choose the Velit over the other brand.

Thanks for your interest! You are correct. We tried our best to find these two vans with the same floorplan but didn't realize the impact of color difference. However, the outlet temperature and air speed could be a good reference point. The outlet temperature is similar but the air flow rate of the velit unit almost doubles and that demonstrates the higher cooling capacity.

    Not a good review.
