Y'all know this is just my opinion, right? - Hudba
Can you review the banana record on your shelf. That was my favorite record from 2003.
***** sarcasm is a hell of a drug
I prefer they're cotten candy one
Yeah my favourite track is probably Saturday evening closely followed by I'm not waiting for my woman.
yeah i smoke sarcasm regularly :p

I remember freaking out when I got this record in 1975....she was talking poetry in the middle of songs!! no one did that! and she would just go into all these abstract directions...after that I started tracking down her poetry books...I was obsessed!! she was and is a one of a kind!!
Gloria is probably my favorite opening track to any album.
Jakob Sanchez AND HER NIGHTMARES AND HER NIGHTMARES AND HER NIGHTMARES ANS HER NIGHTMARES
Even for cover it's pretty damn good. Especially since she makes it her own complete song.
agreed
Jesus died for somebody's sins but not mine...

Man, i was nearly crying at the end of this. This was really you, nerding out to your fullest potential. I don't know if you realize that you change a lot of lives for the better, but i got a lot of love towards you for it. I mean it seems like you had really good source material, but damn, you was geeked up off this review. Seeing you do what you love is so positive for me. This review right here had me feelin all the feels that you was gettin from the record. 10/10 review. Def gonna check the record out.
Wholesome as fuck ❤️
Same for me, I've seen this video quite a few times. Strange for a review. Love the record too.
@@matyhrdina strange for a review? How? There are so many rewatchable views, specially of games and movies
@@alphalax7747 i meant for me personally, watching reviews isn't usually a emotional experience that I would come back for on multiple occasions
@@matyhrdina although they arent as emotional as this one seems to be, you should definetly check out youtubers like JonTron and I Hate Everything. They make fucking amazing reviews that even like 5 years from now you'll probably still be coming back to them
Dude, When I hear the Gloria part ''make her mine, make her mine, make her mine...'' or Birdland's ''Take me up, I'm going up, I'll go up there''...it gives me chills. A sense of explosion and passion that no album has given me, not even the most stimulating or hardcore ones of the 2010's.
Definitely, Patti Smith... Forever
One of the greatest albums in my life! Saw Patti Smith 3 times, 2 of which she performed Horses in its entirety. It was beyond amazing!
The vocals are indeed the best part of the album. They are really dynamic, try to read the lyrics of Horses while playing the song. It's fun to follow. Also extremy visual, you can see Johnny, the hallway, the locker, the mirror. Everything.
This is my favorite album of all time. I’ve been listening for years, and to catch this review and hear you give your analysis of it in the way you do with so much passion and emotion was so beautiful for me. Thanks king :)
Birdland is the best on the album for me. Her delivery... still gives me chills to this day.
I love this woman, found about her because i thought she was Charlotte Gainsbourg.
Cool, you know Gainsbourg has released two albums? She's a really good singer.
wtf thats weird i was thinking about charlotte gainsbourg the whole time while listening to this
one produced and co-written by Beck :D
They both have good chemistry, Smith and Gainsbourg.
One of my favourite albums of all time!
I just listened to this album for the first time. The only song I had heard before was Gloria. The whole album blew me away. The only song I didn't like at first was the beach song. It was better on the relisten. It is amazing how she mixes music and poetry.
How have I missed your review of this album for the last four years? (and your channel for that matter). Thanks! Hitting subscribe. Patti is one of my all time favorites.
Do a classic review of 'Doolitle' by the pixies
YES, PLZ 🙏
Surfer Rosa**
@@markb9907
The review will be 3 minutes only talking about where is my mind
@@markb9907 bro what? Doolittle is so much better then surfer rosa
You're crazy, the instrumental on Birdland is fantastic.
Nine Inch Nails- The Downward Spiral?
The Fragile!
Took awhile, but he finally did!
4 year delivery lol
do the smiths or the cure for classics week!
YES
It would be pretty funny if Vegany Smoothtano reviewed meat is murder by the smiths.
+Canned Music I was just thinking that, but he would probably do The Queen is Dead.
+Chris Ramirez That makes sense, he tends to go for a band's most popular record. But I'd still prefer a Meat is Murder review because I think its the Smiths' most solid album. Also Anthony would evolve to meme level 8 and ascend into the heavens, which would be cool to see.
I've sent him requests to do a Smiths review for years.
I just wanna hear him talk about them, I don't even care if he doesn't like them.
could you review Jeff Buckley's album Grace? I'd like to know what you think of it
I second this
yes yes
+George T Yeah please!
plz
PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE MY FAVOURITE ALBUM
I listened to this album all the way through to and from work today. This album is incredible, top 10 rock albums ever for sure.
Wow, I really love her album 'Horses' and I loved the melodies, her passion, songs and all that.
But as a non-native English speaker, I never haven't gotten into the lyrics deep enough.
Now I caught a glimpse of what the lyrics are trying to say, and with your help I can love this album even more, in a new dimension. Thanks!
Up there as one of my favorite albums of all time.
"Patti smith you're napalm. You write with your hand but it's Rimbaud's arm." -Crass
ELMatadiablos crass were trite duschebags.
@@Gunz4Hire187 nah crass is and were epic
Can you review electric warrior by trex? I'm very interested to hear what your opinion is of that record and maybe just trex in general
Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star for classics week?
A perfect album to hear Fontano talk about. Such a dense emotional album there is So much to “nerd” out on great video man.
Sonic Youth: Day Dream Nation
PATTHONY SMITHTANO ty for reviewing one of my fave albums of all time ❤️ I was lucky enough to see Patti (TWO DAYS IN A ROW) last year at Bluesfest, I cried it was so beautiful :')
This album is a work of art. Brilliant
This is a truly amazing review, thanks Antony
I find it so interesting how life can be full of so many coincidences. I'm reading Just Kids by Patti Smith which have exposed me to many artists and poets and painters and this album in particular. Also, I randomly listened to Modern Lovers for the first time yesterday and here they are mentioned in the video as trailblazers.
I really enjoyed this classic review. It felt intimate, passionate, something I sort of don't feel with a lot of records you may even like or love from new releases.
Hairthony Cuttano
this was filmed months ago
calVILLAIN so you're telling me his next video his hair is going to be back???? wtffffffff
nah man its classics week rn, so all these videos were filmed throughout the year and emailed to people who payed for them each month, now they're being uploaded. when classics week over we gonna see hairthony growtano
calVILLAIN i was just memein ya i know these were prerecorded lol
u deserve an oscar
Honestly this is possibly your best review. You can tell just how impassioned you are by the record and you know a lot about it.
Great review as usual. Classics Week is always nice. Will you ever consider doing Pet Sounds or do you not like The Beach Boys for whatever reason.
Review a Joni Mitchell album. Don't really care wich one.
R0DisG0D BLUEEEEEEE
COURT AND SPAAAAAAAARKKK!
You have no idea how long I've been waiting for this.
Would you consider reviewing a doors album, preferably the self titled album or LA Woman
One of my favorite albums
Patti Smith....explosive, esoteric.....forever
The Dear Hunter - Act II, or Cursive - Domestica?
Anyone know if this is the same Birdland that Maynard Ferguson plays?
Starting off with a cover originally written by Van Morrison? Gotta give this a listen.
GLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORIA
i love how the google translate edit just adds more Os
surprised you didn't mention Television and Marquee Moon when discussing the bands who laid the groundwork of punk since they're sound amongst all those other groups you sited was the most similar. that whole art punk sound
Any chance of getting a review of Moderats II?
i'd love to hear a review on one of tool's albums!
It would have been cool if you had started the mid-year classics review week on the summer solstice, but I suppose this week is approximately half-way through the year or something.
I don't know if anybody has pointed it out yet, but it's certainly not surprising that "Break it up" reminds you of Television since Tom Verlaine (of Television fame) co-wrote the song and played guitar on it ;). Great review.
Good, I think it is about time for a classics review, and what an album to review too
+theneedledrop hey anthony i was wondering if you liked the new zealand doom metal band Beastwars?
Wow quite a powerful review Anthony, you almost made me kinda cry tbh
surprised to see no track review for either When Will I Return - Swans or that new beck track
You should review hybrid theory for your next classic week
Track Review of the new STONE ROSES?
Could you do a review of Jon Bellions new album The Human Condition?
Why did you never give your thoughts the Hamilton OST?
Tom Verlaine played lead guitar on Break It Up -> which explains the Television vibes
Please do a classic review on Marilyn Manson's "Holy Wood" I've heard you say it's your favourite Manson record and that you really liked Manson's first four albums so it makes sense that you would review it. Keep up the good work Anthony!
One of my Favourite Records ever!
Will you review the College Dropout? It came out twelve years ago so I don't think it's too recent.
Thanks to this album we have R.E.M.
R.E.M., Television, The Smiths, PJ Harvey, Nirvana and Hole were all inspired by this album.
Will you review Last Year Was Complicated?
So how about Lone's new album?
Would like to hear your input on The Downward spiral!
best intro line to any album ever
Planning on doing the new TeamSESH album? I understand if not cause it's long as hell
Review jon bellions new album the human condition please
Make your surprise review Silent Shout since it's 10 years old this year
damn you making me feel old - that album only just came out! along with all the other 10 year old albums.
I was thinking of Fever Ray.
Y U SHAVE THE HAIR BB
Because it looked like tooth picks
the video is form last year
I believe this was filmed several months ago
THIS VIDEO IS FROM JULY OF 2015
I also panicked at first, but then I realized it was prerecorded. The hair has really grown on me.
could you check out American Appetite from Harriet?
one of my favs this year
Anthony, I'd really like to hear your thoughts on some ska music. Perhaps Less Than Jake, Streetlight Manifesto or Mighty Mighty Bosstones. Anyone else agree?
do homogenic or vespertine pls.
Jon Bellion - The Human Condition
lol nah fam
he's gonna give it a 3 maybe a 4
Hi. I have your new ! Channel I like this review 📹 I will put his in my Library so Keep the reviews coming your new.! No.1 fan !
One of the best reviews ever. Thanks! 11/10
You didn't like the instrumental on birdland?! I think it's such a fluid and visceral backing for patti's story it follows what she's saying so well! Especially when the alien guitar effects appear when she talks about the spaceship lol
will we ever see the "Homogenic" by Björk review in the classic category? please 🙌
break it up sounding like television might be because tom verlaine is on guitar :D
Such a good album! Thx for the review. !
Still waiting on the Whitney album... it's getting a lot of praise so no reason to skip it
Hopefully after classics week
Any good art rock bands besides Talking Heads, Roxy music, Velvet underground, David Bowie and Television? I love this style of music and I want to get into it more. Thanks
Eno's first four solo albums with singing on
Masta Ace - The Falling Season?
Yo can we get one for Kodak Black's new mixtape?
Review Talk Talk's Laughing Stock or Big Star's 3rd
could you review the new netsky album "3"
Maybe this classics week will give Anthony time to listen to that new Autechre album in its entirety and finally release that review.
WHERE that OHB MIXTAPE Review at Doe
Wasn't the next classic review supposed to be Rain Dogs by Waits?
It was suppose to be Atliens by Outkast
+Christopher Murillo nah, that was a donation only review for now, he's releasing the vid in classic week in December
What's a donation only review?
+Žiga Auer at the end of every month, he opens up a support page and allows you to donate to him and a charity. In return he sends you a classic review and you get a chance to win a vinyl. ATLiens was last months classic. All of this years donation only classic reviews will be uploaded in the December classics week
+TheHoboSapien24 i think Tom Waits was the first donation only reviews, so that'll be the first one in December
is ur wallpaper blurry or is it blurry
You do know that Tom Verlaine plays lead on the Television-sounding 'Break It Up', don't you?
Could you review letlive.'s new album "If I'm the Devil..."
Ayyyy I have the vinyl of this from my dad - he had a sick music taste when he was a kid tbh. I inherited Darklands, Bona Drag, and some other amaaaazing stuff from him haha
Portishead - dummy
Beck - odelay
Air - moon safari
He actually might be doing Dummy
@@danielbernas2293 he did it!
Fun fact, this is longest classic review Melon has done to date. Probably because it’s just that good.
The Cure - Disintegration
XTC - Skylarking
Elvis Costello - My Aim Is True/This Year's Model
Can - Ege Bamyasi/Tago Mago
Talk Talk - Spirit of Eden
PLEASE ANTNEE DO A REVIEW OF SOME OF THOSE!!!
can you review becks new single wow?
Do Jon Bellion - The Human Condition!
you should do a gang starr album for a classic review
or an ice cube 1
I agree, Step In The Arena & Daily Operation are two of the best rap albums of all time. I have a feeling Fantano doesn't like Guru much, though. If a rapper isn't flashy with his lyricism or energetic and catchy he seems to just wave them off. Which is sad, because Guru is arguably the rapper with the most versatile flow and best vocal delivery of all time, people just sleep on it because of his monotone delivery.
Could you do Elvis Costello and the Attractions' This Year's Model or Armed Forces?
So if I didn't donate for his Outkast classic review, does that mean I have to wait for the next classic week or will it never come out?
your profile pic fits your comment
You'll be able to see it at some point.
It could be over a year tho before you see it
BEYOND AWESOME FILMS each classics week is probably gonna be six reviews so not likely
Outkast will be up in the December classics week
I think you should a classics review on Reinventing Axl Rose by Against Me! Not sure if you think it's a 10 but I think so
