Yeah that was a bad decision by the creators of this. What makes stuff like this scary is putting yourself in the position of this person. No one would reach around the door, they would just push it open. So it takes you out of the moment and really ruins the dread they had been building up to that point.
Honestly I do that when im scared so when I open the door I can see the entirety of the room rather than glimpses when I open the door

One of my worst fears was in this short film, when your cloths pile starts moving in the dark. I never seen a horror film make that, I give this 5/5.

Oh god 😫😫😭 that part was SO terrifyingly convincing that something will pop out of my piles of laundry in my room if I don't do something about it, I think I've got the motivation to donate what I don't need or wear, and finally fold the rest into the dresser that I do indeed have, but has been the forbidden word vs the mountain of clothes piles these last few months. Depression is a bitch. No but really, that is one of those scenes that's going to stick, that was a good one 😁❤

The part beginning at 5:25 with the clothes pile...that's the scariest thing I've ever seen. Really well done. I sometimes think about that part alone and come out in goosebumps 😅 Absolutely terrifying
Can someone please explain how “Hollywood” puts out complete shit horror movies most of the time but multiply CZcams pages have decent Horror videos?
Because it's easy to make a short film that doesn't require character development, a long story, and so much more that a long film requires
Hollywood is about who you know that's going to give you that big break.
Because a shorter story doesn't require much thought into the characters, mostly into the idea and execution of the horror.

Logic, we dont do that here. Fear is irrational by natural design. If you dove into the dark to investigate every little sound, youd be dead. Or at the very least bump into something and get hurt. First you gotta shine light on it so you know whats up.
This is one of the scariest short films I've ever watched in my life. A short film like this never scared me like this in a while. This movie is almost nightmarish scary.
I think the reason people call out "hello" in horror movies is to see if it's someone they know, because someone they know might answer back. Or maybe to scare off whoever's in their house because some people don't want to get caught.
Well they need to start of with 'the power of Christ compels you' or 'I gave Holy Water' 😂
If theres an ominous feeling already and something doesnt sit right with your guts. Make smart choices and think of more of the possibility you dont know that person or its an intruder and call the police. Better safe than sorry

Amazes me how effective horror can be when done right. You do not need a budget of millions of dollars to really scare people! I love shorts/movies that make me all tense up without the use of jumpscares. Loved it!!

Watched this when it first came out and even now - having watched WAY too many horror shorts on YT in the intervening years - this is still hands-down one of the best out there. Brilliantly scary.

@@BroflovskiSlave Erm you do know that when she was unable to move in bed seeing a demon is pretty much exactly what someone with sleep paralysis sees at times. They often hallucinate very scary things because they've not fully woken up

Alter does a very good job of playing on emotions and discomfort. When she was watching the dark shapes from the bed the camera stays on for a few frames longer than would a regular horror film. I was so unsettled that I couldn’t watch it head on...I turned my phone to the side and kinda squinted my eyes...I just couldn’t watch it. Good job.
I haven’t been afraid of dark spaces since I was a kid. Now I’m turning in lights and looking up the stairs and pushing doors open til they hit the door stop. And checking the trash for demon trick turning muppets.

What makes it worse is that the house used is really like a couple I have lived in in London. The stairs and layout are exactly the same. The doors on either side used to spook me at night coming home!

Arm Collector I liked Terrifier but I can’t seem to find The 9th circle. There is also one called All Hallows’ eve or something like that that also looks good. There is a sequel in the making for Terrifier.
That was brilliant well done. The tension, scares, music and acting were outstanding.
Binge watching this channel at 3am probably won’t go down as the finest idea I’ve ever had but holy shit you guys could teach Hollywood a thing or two about horror.

I actually had a supernatural experience like that. I saw a lady sitting next to me on my bed in the middle of the night, I rolled over and just shut my eyes, did not have the balls to look that side again

Hands down 1 of the scariest demonic films I ever seen. Usually Alter adds a hint of comedy, but this is their serious baby.

the knot in my stomach i had during the laundry in the chair scene… i felt as if i were there experiencing it for myself. one of my worst phobias! and then everything from that point on was the stuff of nightmares. you could feel the tension and dread through the screen. excellent film!

WOW! That was scary as hell! Outstanding job by everyone involved with this production!
This is one of my favorite horror short films ever, and it's funny because I actually just thought about this very film lately, as I've remembered it from a movie with a compilation of short films I watched years ago (can't remember the name of the movie though).
And just like everything else I think about, the universe has this funny way of bringing those thoughts to reality. If not, I honestly don't know where I would have to begin looking for this film to find it.
Finally, a horror protagonist that knows how to use their phone. She dials 999, she turns on her flashlight... Take notes people

Perhaps as she was so scared she meant to dial 666 to get some help from all the things that live in that rather warm place , who better to call than them as the cops are pretty much useless in these situations.
That was legitimately scary, mostly mental horror. Great job!

The scariest part for me was when she ran down the stairs and when she found out that the entrance door was locked, and additionaly when she had to look back if someone or something was chasing her down.
In a way this could almost be a sequel to "Armoire"

I watched many hortor movie, but the part begining at 5:25 is honestly one the best (or maybe the best) horror scene I ever seen. Horror isn't about jumpscare but tension and this scene is mastered. The slow mouvement of the body and the silence is frightening. I really like to rewatch it.

After seeing a TikTok and a Facebook reel plus a CZcams short of people reacting to one scene in this film, I finally found it after months of searching. Did not disappoint.

The last movie that was horror for me was Hereditary...i dont know i was alone and high. But that movie moved me a little bit, after maybe 10 years of watching crap horror

LITERALLY THE BEST HORROR MOVIE EVER MADE!!!!
The creature climbing up the bed brought back some creepy memories from my past. They could be dismissed as a sleep paralysis episode, as I’ve experienced them as often as 3 times a year, since I was 6 or so.
I’ll describe the least Creepiest first. I remember laying down and feeling the cat jump on the foot of the bed. After allowing myself to feel trust in my safety, I suddenly remembered the that I we didn’t own a cat…
Normally, after a jarring realization like that, I would “wake up”… but the pressure I felt on the bed did not change at all. My solution was to silently pray/cry myself to sleep.
Other times were much more gut-wrenching. Like before, I would be lying down, on the brink of sleep, but instead of the usual feeling of a cat landing at the foot of the bed, I would feel a much heavier buttocks slowly coming to a full rest.
Again, I was too terrified to do anything except silently cry/pray myself to sleep. I knew these incidents weren’t sleep paralysis because:
*** I recall stretching and yawning as part of my feigned sleep, whereas during actual sleep paralysis, movement is nigh impossible.***
*** I could not see, neither the cat, nor the person, during these encounters. During sleep paralysis, I can see, not only nightmarish/hallucinatory figures, but indeed the entire room, despite my eyes being closed… Seeing my surroundings is actually very common for me, not only during sleep paralysis, but also during meditation and even during hypnagogic/hypnopompic events, as well.
Regular meditation/prayer, dream journals and a stable and consistent sleep schedule have all but eliminated these issues.

A lot of people write in the comments how Alter short films are better than feature length Hollywood movies (and I agree). I've seen replies saying that it's because "shorter movies require less thought" and things along that line. I want to post what I had commented to someone else who commented as such. A shorter story doesn't mean less thought goes in to it. Telling a complete story from start to finish in a limited amount of time is an art form. Whereas longer movies get more time to develop things, a short story writer has to be really precise with what they showcase. Which means every choice is deliberate and was weighed with great thought and care. I think one reason people find newer horror movies to be lacking is because the budgets are big and rely on the ability to just draw out shock and terrors, but forget the story telling art in the process.
She's deserved all she got if she checks her house that unthoroughly.
Thank you! She checked one room. I would've checked all rooms, closets, bathrooms, the pantry, under the beds, etc. Of course, with the police there with me after waiting outside for them to show up.
She also went BACK UPSTAIRS after everything that showed up there. And left her back to several dark rooms after seeing that stuff appears in dark places.
I don't often yell at my monitors, but with all the chills this gave me, I kept yelling "Y U DO DAT?!" just calm myself down. lol
