I really enjoyed your video. A small comment on style: You are almost consistently using "future in the past" throughout, i.e. "he would do this...". This tends to disrupt the flow of the commentary and is unnecessary in most cases. E.g. "At Carson's advice he left NBC" would be just fine and sound more natural.

I find the stark contrast between Conan and Ellen Degeneres very interesting. Ellen's entire on-stage personality was how kind and generous she was and it turns out she was an abusive asshole when the cameras weren't rolling. Meanwhile Conan's on-stage personality was a horrible boss and an annoying creep and it turns out he's genuinely kind guy who's also a great boss.

I like Conan & Jay. Watched them both since 2001/2002. I wish The Tonight Show had worked out for Conan in the long run, but the truth behind that debacle is still not widely known. I highly recommend the book "The War for Late Night" by Bill Carter which includes the nuance in the story. NBC screwed over both Jay and Conan and I believe Jay has been unfairly villianized. In 2004, NBC told him Conan was taking over in 2009 no matter how good his ratings were. Jay loved NBC and did not want to leave in 2009, so he accepted the offer for a primetime show. Misguided? Yes, but not malicious. Bottom line, the two could not co-exist at NBC anymore, so one had to go. Again, I hate that Conan quit. I miss him and Jay on TV. They are all just a series of ads mixed in with genuinely terrible "comedy", like Stephen Colbert's vaxx-scene thing I'm not an anti-vaxxer or anything, but that is just pure garbage content that exists solely to pander to an audience of self-righteous narcissists. Conan has never had anything like that, he actually puts effort in, he has actual comedy on his show, and when he has guests he actually talks to them and makes it less about whatever product they're shilling.

I have to give props to Lopez for recommending Conan to TBS, and Lopez also alerted Sammy Hagar to Eddie Van Halen's illness, and to make contact with him before he passed. Letterman is also very genuine, and recognizes true talent when he sees it, and roots for the underdog.

Conan is definitely great and this was a well done tribute video. I'm glad he helped you and others (and myself too).
I will say some other greats are Craig Ferguson and the still active Graham Norton (on BBC).
I mention them too as I feel at least for some if you like one, you'll like all three of these hosts. Others have said and suggested as much too. Of course some are determined to only have one favorite and make it a competition. I think that seems silly as we're just spectators of their shows (unless of course you actually did work of any of the said shows).
Anyway I say more great comedy shows to love is definitely a good thing and I enjoy switching it up. And when I come back to one of them after not seeing them perform for a bit their comedic style is all the fresher for having taken a break from immersing myself in their comedic wares. Well happy comedy hunting and cheers : )

The only other host that has his replayability is Craig Ferguson. His interview skills were at, if not better than, any other late night host, including Conan, Letterman, and Carson. He made every single guest feel comfortable and let them even show some of their dirtier sides. Every time before an interview, he rips up the suggested guest question cards and just ad libs the whole interview, which never really happens nowadays. He was the only late night host that could stand toe-to-toe against Robin Williams as the funniest guy on stage and not only have a genuine conversation without him going off the rails, but also make him laugh.
With the current landscape of late night being so horrible with the only glimmer of hope being Seth Meyers, it's great to remember how spoiled we were to have guys like Ferguson, Letterman, and Conan on our screens every night.

It's truly a unique emotion to witness the growth of a talented actor, writer, or comedian, from getting their start as a page or intern to being one of the most successful shows on the air today. Naturally I'm going to have a lot to say and even more importantly is, knowing who will all read and hopefully relate to my comment. It's intentionally well thought out. I think ya'll are just confusing a lack of grammatical errors for Ai. Grammarly is a very useful tool for any writing enthusiast. Especially for creating beneficial writing habits. @@dardarstar

This made me sad because I LOVE Conan O'Brien and he's getting old and I just love his remotes. The guy is genuinely the happiest and most down to earth person in Late Night Comedy. He was born to be a late night talkshow host.

He has also spent decades promoting and boosting the profiles of new comedians. Especially for many UK comedians, his show was often their very first appearance on television in the U.S. He seems like a kind, generous man. Is professional generosity a thing? If so, then that's Conan.

What I love about Conan is that he's very genuine and kind based on what you hear from people who are both close to him and those who've only met him briefly.
He almost always puts the joke on himself, so he never really makes anyone uncomfortable.
Plus, he's very quick witted and funny. That's a brilliant combination!

Thank you for the video! Conan's self-deprecating, silly, non-political humor was such a contrast to all the other late-night shows. In fact, it is (the podcast) a contrast to the entire media landscape. I wish more people realized the quality and value he has been bringing to comedy.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched his skits with his staff, Jordan Schlansky, Clueless Gamer and etc. Conan is that one TV show host who can instantly make your day better with his hilarious non-scripted skits and down-to earth personality. I urge people to watch his Oxford appearance and how he behaves like a clown who has some of the deepest philosophical insights about the world and great advice for young kids. His is the evergreen humour, the silly one. It's as unique as Craig Ferguson's naughty one. Conan started the Pete Holmes show about 8 years ago and it was the funniest thing since Conan’s own show. But because Pete opted to interview only other comedians instead of traditional celebrities, and because he did a standup bit instead of a traditional monologue about current events, people didn’t watch his show. I mean I did. I watched every episode and then again 15 more times on CZcams because his opening standup bits are a part of my soul, but if you’re not really into standup comedy and you don’t know a bunch of the less popular (but no less funny) comedians he had as guests, you probably didn’t care. But it WAS the successor to Conan in my mind, but nobody gave it a chance. I have a feeling that unfortunately Taylor may share the same fate as Pete.

Conan and Ferguson have such special places in my heart. Growing up they were the only two Late Night shows I genuinely looked forward to watching with my Dad. I never really knew what it was that attracted me to those shows at the time but looking back on it I feel that it was because they were the only ones who somehow managed to really care but still somehow didn't take themselves too seriously. They were always invested in the moment and really cared about the people around them. They made absurdity into an artform.

Conan during his peak Late Night run was a force to be reckoned with. Dude was just unstoppable with his comedy and his craft. He's still killing it to this day with his remote stuff and his podcast. I truly believe him and Craig Ferguson were just infinitely better than the earlier Leno and Letterman time slots. Conan and Craig could do no wrong. That being said, the long running Mac & Me joke with Paul Rudd is the best thing of all time.

Hey nice to see another fan of both Conan and Craig. I'm sometimes surprised why a number of people want to rank and compete their stature and skill level against each other. They are both great and glad at least some can realize if you like one of them, you'll probably at least like the other too. They are both absurd and wacky in their comedic style and while they have their differences their probably the two closest matched in style (and talent of course) among American based talk show hosts.
Another guy who's still has his show actively going I'd recommend giving a try to you (and any other fans of one or both Conan and Craig) is Graham Norton on the BBC. The weak James Corden tried to make use of the same format style of having all of the guests out together on a couch talking freely with the host facing them. But where he failed (at least from what I've been able to stand watching) Norton and his revolving cast of often buzzed or even drunken guests have a ball of a time. Also it's fun to see a mix of American and British guests socially mingling and sharing their stories and perspectives.
      Well happy comedy hunting, cheers!

Conan was a breath of fresh air. He didnt TRY to be funny....he was funny. At times where he needed to be serious, empathetic and understanding, he was. He, based on every bit of content hes put out in the years since he started has pointed to a good human being.....which is something you cant say about most celebrities. I still to this day watch old remotes every now and then. All this coming from someone who hates late night TV (I couldnt care less about what celebrities are up to), I tuned in to Conan because he was genuinely a funny guy and made me laugh. His remotes are hilarious, his charecter is upstanding, and he deserved so much better from an industry that treated him like trash. Regardless, he still managed to become a legend and thats worth every penny. Ill always be a Conan fan.

He has got to be one of the best interviewers, if not THE best. The evidence for this is in, of course, the talk show, but his travel shows where he talks to 'regular' people quite effortlessly and entertainingly while always being respectful to the person. Even when he's being irreverent. The improv skills during conversations is at another level.

I was so sad to see the end of Conan's TBS show, but quickly realized that we're now in a new golden age of Conan because he shines more than ever in the longer form podcast format. It's so much better when he isn't boxed into 7 minute chunks by commercial breaks.
