Ladies and Gentlemen, today I want to share something that truly shocked me. We're talking about fake Rolex Submariner watches. As an Italian citizen and resident, it's crucial for me to uphold laws and protect the copyrights of brands, especially those connected to Europe.
In this video, I'll conduct a detailed comparison between my genuine Rolex Submariner and a counterfeit one I acquired from the market in Istanbul. I'm sure many of you, like me, love luxury watches, but when I saw this fake, I was astounded by its quality.
We'll examine both the external and internal features of both watches, from the dial to the sound of the mechanisms. I'll show you just how identical they look on the wrist and even how similar the sounds are when opening and closing them. Believe me, some fakes are so good that they're nearly indistinguishable from the real thing.

Even the movement it has been cloned. In my opinion the only reason clones were created it's the insane price of the original. And let's be honest they are very overpriced. The fact that this watches can be replicated in an indistinguishable way, tells you that the watch materials are not that expensive. You pay a 10th of the original price for the clone.

@@aldolirosi7658 ...It takes millions of dollars to develop an in house movement. Yes, the chinese companies reverse engineered it, but R had to put down capital in the first place to develop it.
So if the fakes are so hard to tell from the real ones, is Rolex quality so poor that its easy to fake, or are the Chinese so good at making watches they should start their own designs? Asking for a friend
Chinese are so good hence they can copy perfectly as well as create their own brands.

What makes it even harder is the fact that older bluesies have that matte blue dial (similar to that of the smurf) like yours while newer ones have a sunburst finish. There are a lot of Rolex variations and so a lot of the time, slight differences between a real one and a fake can be dismissed as differences between different Rolex models over time. At 5:53, I can easily see the dial finish difference but that alone doesn't mean that it's fake because Rolex has produced the bluesy both ways in the past.
I only know this because the bluesy is by far my favourite Rolex.
The first two looked fake, and you can fool others but you can't fool yourself. To each their own.

This is one of the best comparisons I have seen because you showed how good even the "cheap" fakes have become as well as the "Clean" replicas. Even though you compared a 40mm to a 41mm, the similarities between the fake and genuine watch are amazing. Buyers need to really be careful when buying on the used market.

The 12 o clock marker on your fake is crooked.
People think genuine watches watches are flawless but I have seen many that also have flaws like that. I've seen crooked date wheels, bad dial printing, bezel problems and mis-aligned rehauts all on genuine rolex watches.
Show me free 6 months of wear and tear , fakes will always be fake.
I recently sold a fake Submariner Kermit bought in Bangkok in 2004, still running fine, never been opened.
I can tell in one second after looking at the movement. I am not buying from someone I don't know, without checking the movement.
From what I've seen on other channels doing real/fake comparisons, it's too expensive for the fakes to clone the movement. And really, the movement is 98% of what you're paying for.
That's actually not correct for Rolex. 98% of what you are paying for is the name. There are top quality Swiss watches that look and perform just as good as Rolex for 1/10th the price. Also, the top quality Rolex fakes actually have clone movements with all the markings of a genuine. They are so accurate that you can repair them with genuine Rolex parts. The one main difference being the fakes do not use a free sprung balance wheel but instead, they have regulators on the balance bridge to adjust the watch. This is an immediate tell to anyone that knows watches. However, one can swap out the balance wheel, bridge and assembly with genuine parts and now you really need to know your stuff to spot the fake.
There is an extra piece in the movement of the fakes. Even a novice can spot it once he is shown what to look for. There are several other tells, but it is hard to explain without a watch as an example.
@@rickjason215 And that's really my whole point. The top quality fakes are so good you often have to open them or have a genuine next to it with a jewelers loupe to see the differences. Of course, you also have to know what to look for. And don't even get me started on "Frankenstein" (fake watches with gen parts) watches.

Instead of that watches flow directly to dealers of grey market. For this Rolex was penalised for 100 mln euro in France. Another “ secret” to you: Rolex stopped supplying Sport models to US, Australia etc. and redirected merchandise to Asian and Middle East market. I consider this as a discrimination. The best way to tell is to hold one and move the crown and bezel. Real ones are super smooth while the fakes are notchy and gritty.
You can't tell a serviced Dangdong VS3135 or 3235 movement from a Rolex by it's feel.
Gritty movement is a definite false tell, as is accuracy, although due to poorer tolerances the fake will start to lose or gain (probably gain) time sooner than gen.
And it's obviously far less likely to have been cared for and serviced/maintained regularly.
If a fake OOTB lasts 2 or 3 years it's pretty much a throw away item compared to what servicing a Rolex will cost you.
Within the 1st minute I could tell it was a fake. The crown is not a good fit. Way off the crown guards.
