HI ANGELS! Today I am getting rid of all my makeup...LITERALLY and completely starting over. Usually I'm shopping, but today I'm in full Marie Kondo style clean out! I've cleaned my collection before, but never like this...

I am 35 and it’s so true that at 30 you just have less patience for BS. I am on this journey of refining my tastes in make up and clothing, I am looking for color palettes in make up and in my clothes that complement my blue eyes, fair skin and blond hair. And also just simply diving deep into myself and pulling out things that have been buried so deep inside and bringing them to the forefront ☺️ no more hiding, no more pretending, just living my true authentic self☺️
For me I have dark hair and fair skin as well. Shades of pinks and nudes in makeup and clothing might look good on you since it really accentuates the fair skin.

currently about to cry rn because i feel so seen. i have depression, adhd, and a handful of other things so cleaning has always been such a struggle for me. looking at your makeup drawer reminds me so much of my own. for years i’ve kept empty tubes and boxes “in case i need them and their details or could use them” when in reality, i never will. living in chaos makes me anxious, but i don’t find time to clean. i say i’m on the journey of self-love, but i’m also starting to realize that in keeping all these things i don’t need and living in a messy area all the time isn’t taking care of myself. thank you, amber, for making your audience feel less alone, and less abnormal. most of all, thank you for giving me the motivation to do this for myself. i’m going to get off youtube right now and clean the things i’ve been putting off cleaning for years. maybe i’ll even start with throwing out my old makeup. thanks for being raw and real, and an inspiration even with the seemingly “small” but actually really big things in life. i think i speak for all of your viewers when i say thank you and we love you! ❤
Amber I've had the exact same issue my entire life and I finally got rid of it this past month. Instead of doing all round general cleaning after I decluttered my stuff, I developed the habit of returning things to their place IMMEDIATELY after using them. And for the first time in my entire life this past month is the most organized/clean I've EVER been. Just take baby steps and I'm sure you'll develop it into a habit❣❣❣.

@@loisen Get some storage boxes. You can buy some online or use regular cardboard boxes. Keep what you FREQUENTLY use in the open and the rest in storage boxes. And also make sure they're clean and neatly kept in the boxes so that you can easily access them and put them back😂❣️. I hope this helps❤️.

Amber, I have a tip for you. Keep all of your makeup in it's original box (if it came in one) to preserve it better. You can store box-less items in silicon ziplock bags. Plus wash your hands between steps during makeup application- your bottles/containers will stay clean. I always wipe stuff down w/rubbing alcohol and a cotton round.
I was going to add that with coloured electrical tape she could sort her daily items out of the fray
That's good advice but I think it's too much for Amber's chaos right now. I hope she reads it, though, and keeps it in the back of her mind for later use! 😊

I appreciate your honesty in this video! I much prefer seeing a realistic view and also seeing makeup being USED instead influencers showing perfect, aesthetic drawers of makeup that doesn't get touched.
I’ve recently got rid of my makeup and reduced my collection!! I used to have bright jewel tones and now I’m wearing pinks and more natural makeup!! I only have like 3 eyeshadow palettes

I can totally relate! I recently went through this same process with my makeup when packing for a business trip. I made sure to only take a few items for light packing. It made me be more creative with my makeup looks and i was less stressed when it came to packing up to go home. Now that I am home, I only use that same small collection. The morale of my ted talk: Clutter can add to your stress, without you even realising it!

You can be a maximalist with a minimalist mindset. You want your space full and "busy" but you're mindful about filling that space with things that make you happy. Not just stuff for the sake of stuff. Love seeing you curate your space and getting cleaned up and comfortable! I'm on the same journey with my hopefully soon-to-be maximalist apartment.

Thank you for this because I've been struggling with tossing out unused, broken, & half empty cosmetics for literally YEARS!! I have 3 makeup vanity drawers, 4 bathroom sink vanity drawers, & 4 totes on 2 shelfs in my linen closet full of all the above lol. Hell I even have a couple canvas totes in my bedroom closet with BRAND NEW eyeshadow pallets in them! I organise my makeup in like stages of when I put it on, one drawer is for the base : foundation, concealer, blush etc
One for eyes : mascara, eyeshadow, eyeliner etc
Three for lips : lipstick, gloss etc.
and then I spray on a glitter isch spray from caudalie it's super pretty!!!
The before looks like what I would find in my school bag at the end of the year

It’s kind of funny how our journeys have kind of paralleled even though we’re at such different places in life. When I first got into college I kind of discovered big girl money since all my money didn’t have to go straight back into gas like in high school (I saved everything for years to afford college). I discovered makeup and my own style and bought lots of new clothes and things and it made sense because Amber was doing the exact same thing. Now that I’m going into my last year and about to graduate and a couple months ago I just started purging everything. I only buy things if I absolutely need it and it will bring me joy and quality of life and I only keep things for the same reason now. It feels so good to be surrounded by things that bring me joy instead of being overwhelmed by clutter

As someone creative as well cleaning is not a good use of my time hahaha honestly I think part of the creative process is mess. Embracing the chaos. When we get ready for events, make up and fragrance fly everywhere and we try all the clothes and accessories. To make something truly beautiful you have to make a mess often at least for me you do. 12:18 keep a pack of makeup removers beside your bed 😂 it helps when you’re in bed and so exhausted to get up and wash your makeup off. makeup remover wipes isn’t usually recommended cause it doesn’t wash everything off, but i always say sometimes it’s better than just falling asleep in a full face of makeup! 🩷
