For anyone wondering, these puzzles are called Himitsu-Bako (秘密箱), which literally translates to “Personal Secret Box”! I have one that’s in the shape of a dolphin!

Fun fact: these puzzles were invented to prevent theft from the royal troops during dynasty time. People would hide their jewels or money in them, and since the guards were trying to move fast (house to house), they would not have time to “solve” the puzzle. Its made out of wood, because you cant burn it without burning the money or valuable inside, too. And wood is actually more durable (bounces when smashed to the ground by force, which the guards did).

I like that the egg and die puzzles "make sense" -- like, the solution relates to the puzzle itself. Those tend to be my favorite puzzles, they're really clever.

I remember that one puzzle Chris did too, it was called broken radio, there's a lot of buttons but the only solution is to smash it.
The foot one too, I store stuff in the heel of my foot all the time. Detaching my big toe nail is pretty painful but crushing my pinkie toe isn't so bad.

It probably works by an object going through a track using gravity. I don’t know how it would unlock it though.

My favourite is the dice, it’s a really unique and obvious way of solving the puzzle. It’s also satisfying listening to it click as you turn it.

Listen, when in an emergency, you won't have the time to go 6 numbers in order to access the item. I'd suggest, get an ordinary box.

Even if it's a pistol, by the time you get it out, you'd be dead from whatever threat you are facing. Lol, an ordinary box. Something you can immediately open. No hassle. But I suppose you meabt valuables for safekeeping and not emergency items. In that case you can use anything you deem appropriate

These are more like decor, with a hidden stash.
A lot of these types of puzzles have a hidden stash inside.

You can be sure that he has far more than 2 brain cells, lol.
These just work better for shorts or tiktok, since they're easy to showcase and fast to solve.

My dad had one of these! It was a weird ornate box with what looks like a very striped wood grain, but it was actually a bunch of small cuts in the wood for you to figure out how to disassemble the whole thing. He kept an emergency cash stash and an old note from my mom in it
