    Mino Raiola: Why Players Love Him & Clubs Can’t Stand Football’s Controversial Super Agent
    Football agent Mino Raiola famously clashed with Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2012, leading to Paul Pogba leaving Manchester United for Juventus, only to return in 2016. The transfer is considered controversial due to the massive fee that Mino Raiola collected - as discussed by Football Leaks - with these large fees being a trademark of Raiola’s. After representing players like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Mario Balotelli, Gigi Donnarumma, Paul Pogba, and more, this Mino Raiola Bio will look at his early life in Haarlem, all the way to becoming the biggest super agent in football.

      True he is a killer. If you hire him as a agent you get a guarantee that the clubs wont lowball you. Dont forget that the devil is in the details and a contract isnt just a salary but it will have loads of clauses, things that Raiola works with every day. I cant imagine some players comming in with their father as a agent, thats a guarantee for being lowballed by a club. You should get Raiola as a agent when you want to get to the best CLUBS , you shouldnt hire him if you want to a SPECIFIC club.

      Praise for his come up and how he treats his clients - which all of them have attested to, and why he has some of the biggest names under his belt (must be a pretty big belt at that). They all see him as family. If he didn't care for them, his business would suffer. Now, do I respect how he tiptoes around regulations and has made dodgy deals? Nope! But how he got into this position in the first place is impressive.

    • @maxkellerman4313
      @maxkellerman4313 Před 4 lety +22

      Rabona TV I agree that his journey is impressive and his aptitude has to be praised.
      I just feel that Raiola’s clients love him so much because he makes them feel like they are his priority, which they are because his business depends on it. In essence, I don’t think his ‘care’ for players is unique or special I.e. all agents do this to varying degrees. But Raiola ONLY treats his clients so well because he wants to maximise his profit. That’s clearly shown by his strategy with top players I.e. maximising the clubs they play for to maximise his earning potential. For example, he had the opportunity to move Pogba to Madrid from Juve - but he took the longer route through Man Utd because he would receive two large payouts (from his transfer to United and his inevitable transfer to Real Madrid). He is doing the same now with De Ligt. To do this, he destroys the players relationship with clubs and potentially ruins dressing rooms. He does this all to maximise his profit, NOT to protect the interest of his players - he simply makes them feel like it’s protecting their interests.
      It’s a business so I praise his acumen BUT I don’t think your video captured his selfish side

    I have worked with agents for a while. Smart agents don't burn bridges with clubs, because other clubs find out and that then affects your players options. If an agent pushes a player too hard over the club, while also just straight trying to get loads of money for himself, he forces ruining the balance of wages and relationships between all players at the club thus risking the harmony and performance at the club itself. This goes against all the managers/DOF/staff plans and work to develop the club just to service one player in the team, this is totally against the concept of a team, which most agents understand and try to operate within that system. He has no players at Barca/City/Real Madrid (apart from the 3rd gk) and any other team in the premier league, which I think is more telling than the odd italian or ajax player who has joined him over the years. Fergie offered him a record contract for a teenager at united (maybe the world) and he turned it down. All this was still while Giggs, Scholes, Carrick, Rooney, De Gea, Rio, Vidic, Evra and Berba were all at the club, so how do you think they would have reacted to a kid getting paid so much after a handful of pretty woeful performances, ALL OF WHICH I WATCHED, while really wanting Pogba to succeed and be our new Ronaldo. To trash a club because they won't give you a huge signing on fee, when all you really want is to get another chunk of a transfer fee somewhere else, is pathetic and transparent af.

    By player's interest you mean financial interest or sporting interest? He works hard to get his players big contracts, but can't deny that his players moving from club to club is his main interest. No surprise Zlatan, his most famous client is among the record braking players in terms of different clubs he played for. You could argue that he and many more of those clients have still had amazing careers, but can you say that every move they made was good and they would not benefit more by staying at one place longer. I want to point out one specific move as the biggest example of money move. Pogba left Juventus for Manchester United. He had huge role in Juventus and the team was great, made UCL final. United was struggling, but they'd pay 100 millions and Railoa would get tasty chunk of it. Who am I to judge people for wanting to make more money(I mean both Raiola and player), but "the best of player's interest" can definitely be understood in different ways.

      The release clause of de ligt being negotiated to low. Hugely signifies it.
      De ligt will never be a Juventus legend. He will soon start to move around the time a large club offered more money to riaola.
      Pogba was happy at Juventus. But riaola convinced him that his boyhood club will do him greater good. And see what happened. Pogba had a chance to be great but riaola for his own profit thrown him side by side.

Bosman ruined football together with all the shark agents. It's to much money around some sports and often you see less heart in those sports. Agents earn way to much. its a sorry state of affairs when any industry becomes so rich it attracts people like this, who contribute nothing, anyone who thinks they do are very dumb, any player who uses a crook like this is dumb. Pogba's actual cost would have been a much more reasonable 30 million without Raiola's involvement. Clubs must take a stand no agents fee, players must pay the agent. Also any person who negotiates on behalf of a club, should never sign a player without a relegation clause which states if we go down you the player gets a reduction of 66% in your wages, as you are partly responsible for our position ion the league. If the won't sign tell them to p*** off. Its common sense. As a manager surely you would want to look the player in the eye and get a feeling for who and what he is.

    I do not have a problem with an agent ruffling feathers behind closed doors. But pumping up the media is a game that is not always in the player's interest. Fan support of players and clubs matter, and being too mercenary can be costly to a player who hits a rough patch. Pogba is not going to get support if his performance dips at ManU -- I do not blame Pogba for that but his agent is throwing gasoline on the fire, and Paul has to own that.

    I don't think he really looks out for his players in a genuine way. I've noticed a lot of the players he represents move on from one club to another, never staying at a singular one for an extended time. As a result, I believe some of these players aren't or have not reached the heights of their quality that many believed they could (due to constantly being moved and having to adapt, etc.) I firmly believe it's because Raiola sours the relationship between club and player all so that he can get another move and earn more money. It's only about money for him, which sure, you can respect as a businessman. But to football, he's a true parasite
