    I just bought my 2nd set of Toyo Open country A/T3’s for my ‘02 GMC SIERRA 2500 HD Duramax Crewcab in 37-12.50 17” rim sizes & they are mounted on Non bead locked Black Rhino’s. I’m only using my rig for mostly driving to & from work with occasional weekend desert runs to explore new areas for over -landing type camping trips & not heavy rock-crawling . I’ve been extremely pleased with the Toyo’s as they wear & ride well & are pretty Damn quiet for daily driving, plus 3 out of 4 tires just installed took zero weight to balance & the last only took 2 oz !! BIG shout out to ORW here in El Cajon California ( San Diego) for getting me in & out in less than 4 hours The week after Christmas. Thanks guys, and thank you here for your video & reasons for your choices. Wishing you all the best in 2024 . 😎👍

    My Firestone Destination MT2's get 50% more life than the Toyo Open Country MT on the exact same vehicle running the exact same driving type. This is on a 2500HD Chevy in 295/70r17. I'm at 68k miles and still going. I like the Firestone so much i just put a set in the same size on my FJ Cruiser with Method 705 wheels. Three ply sidewall, load range E, knarly tread that works good everywhere. They stay balanced and wear even with regular rotation. Personally speed tested to 110mph.....regularly, lol

    Are all your tire set load range E? You talk about weight saving but especially when aired down I am afraid to puncture a sidewall without the tougher heavier tire.

    Just put a set of Toyo Open Country A/T on my Chev Colorado. I'm loving it. Here in rural IA I need a tire that performs well on gravel, thick topsoil, and glacial clay. Heavy snow and spring thaw as well. So far they beat my old BFG's, I'll know for sure after spring thaw...hahaha. Thnx for another year of great content! Happy new year from the heartland.

    What offset do you typically run. I remember you saying -30 in one of the videos but I haven’t seen much in the way of -30 on method.

    I'm familiar with Methods and Black Rhinos. What are "HDR" wheels?

    • @SandyCats
      @SandyCats  Před 7 měsíci +1

      They aren’t listed online yet (it seams). On instagram they are @HDRaceWheel

    Frankly all of these are inferior to the Hutchinson 2pc design that locks both beads with an interior hard rubber ring. Sure you're getting your outer bead locked but that inner one will still pop.

      I agree hutchinsons are amazing. But the install is a pain and the weight is high (I think around 40 pounds for a 4runner). Plus… I’ve wheels my Jeep extremely hard (it’s a trailer queen) for 15 years and have never popped an inner bead. Gotta make some compromises somewhere…. I’d take a 29 pound beadlock and feel good about it.
