This was interesting. Re: number of drawers. My kitchen currently has 8 drawers and I don’t feel I need more. However, having said that, I’m renovating my kitchen and will have 16 drawers, but that is primarily because I’m replacing the lower cabinets with drawers.

Love that you went with color! I'd also say that STRs need different storage than a typical residential kitchen, and probably not as much - but also not tricky (had a friend whou couldn't find the silverware in an STR and had to contact the host - it was in an IKEA hidden drawer!
My parents have a trash compactor (installed in the 70s) and I have a garbage disposal - I added it so that I would basically never have to dump the sink strainer basket again - most things go in the trash (we still scrape dishes to the trash, for instance) but the bits and pieces that would otherwise be in a sink basket get swept into the GD and sent on their way.
Thanks Gretchen. Not dumping a sink strainer sounds like the perfect reason to install a disposal. Good thinking.
Hi Mark, great video! I enjoyed your update on your Air BnB kitchen remodel. I was thinking - on the blank section of wall between the basement stair door and the stove base cabinets you could add a framed blackboard for messages of welcome to the guests (or their comments to you).
Also, will you be one of the few designers on CZcams who will be “crossing the rubicon” and doing a video with the complete cost breakdown of your kitchen remodel? I know you said when you got back from Costa Rica your dad told you that the budget was blown, but what contributed to the extra costs? Was there a lot of rebuilding or restructuring of the building envelope before you could get down to the actual kitchen install or was it more for the labor to update plumbing and electrical?
Hey! That's a great idea for that wall section. For now we are putting a full length mirror. But I like that chalkboard idea! I actually plan on doing a video on what this kitchen cost. A full breakdown. I'll keep those things in mind when filming. Thanks for all the ideas!
What colors of kitchen cabinets in the open concept kitchen dinning room and living room? Should be a neutral color or can be an aqua colors

@@MTKDofficial I was referring to the amount of kitchen stuff that can be stored. We keep coming up with design ideas and all of the aesthetic designs give us less storage space. Could be what was meant by forgetting about storage.
