I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. just so you know kai made contemporary stages relevant in kpop when the other boys was popping and locking. he mastered ballet, jazz and korean traditional dance
the moves ten did at the beginning on the "T E N" sound was spelling his name. and he was the one singing his part.
also we all agree that ten is so talented but he worked so hard for years on his dancing, he's so hard working and passionate let's appreciate that too💓
@Sophie Thinks he really loves his job and said it multiple times and it's really inspiring seeing how hard he works for what he loves the most. I still remember the post one of his old dance class mates posted back before he joined sm and how hard he works and he even goes to the bathroom to cry if doesn't get something right :( I just hope he konws he's always doing his best so he shouldn't be hard on himself. but he really dedicated his life for this and come so far with it I'm so proud of him

Ten is just beyond amazing more than words can ever describe him, like it's talent and skills and all his years of hardwork and efforts, and practice all come down together, which results in ten being the way he is now, he's just super inspiring and the fact that he's stil learning and growing, he's just unbelievable

Ten is naturally talented i guess, he’s born to be in the spotlight, moving with the rhythm, dancing to the beat, rapping his heart out , and blessing everyone with his vocals shhwiwkwgw i mean ten is an overall performer, he’s amazing. You should see the video of Ten and Taemin meeting up for a dance show “Hit The Stage” for the first time😂 Ten has said he idolizes Taemin for his dance and he was such a little fanboy it was awesome.😂 Taemin truly has such a wide and unshakable impact on dancing in the Kpop industry he truly is one of the best dancers out there. I recommend 2 things of his that are bound to blow you away and show you his true stage presence: his Live Preformance of his song “Sexuality” and the Dance Practice and MV of his song “Famous” I promise you will not be disappointed!❤️

If you want me to explain what kind of person Kai is...then
Kai have learned dance since he was 8 years old .his major specialities are ballet,jazz & hiphop. Well, is not easy to balance all of those genres if you don't have a great stamina & flexibility clearly. It's also really challenging when you have to control & show a perfect(suitable) facial expressions while dancing. But he can perfectly present that.
Kai has lost his dad a year a ago. Mr. Kim is the one who lead him to be where he's standing right now. His passion for dancing is all bc father's encouragement. Kai experience a lot of major injuries .He injured his ankle 3 times when he had to use a wheelchair & walking stick to move around.He attended the concert extremely felling sorry, bowling his eyes (ashamed) for not being able to perform in front of fans is the most heartbreaking moment he experienced. Eventhough he was seriously injured several times, yet he doesn't make it as an excuse to continue his passion for dancing. He don't want to disappoint himself,fans & also the most important is his father.
I may sounded bias in here but I have a reason. I love the way he make other people inspired through his dance (journey).I just impressed & admired his sacrifices as a performer. He never said that his dancing was good yet far from perfect. But he will still try his best to show people a better side of him.When people tell him that they admired him, he just still & shyly gets speechless bc he knows he never done enough.. There's reason why a lot of junior Idols picked him as a role model. He deserves it. Undenyable . People can find him cold outside & mybe that's the main reason why people just judge him by his appreance . I hope people could see him in a better view. Additional information above all of that he's actually a global ambassador for Gucci.
Also this doesn't mean I didn't appreciate ten & taemin. I've been following them since the day they were debuted. Plus, they're my favorite in Nct U/wayv & SHINee They're all really crazy talented but Kai really had left a deep impression in me when it comes to dance. He's the reason why I started dancing.

watching kai dance is like watching a living art moving in front of you. he is so talented and many kpop idols select him as thier role model in dance and voted for him as best dancer for years now and we can see why.

To think that kai’s part was choreographed and recorded in the same day for a short period of time of 1 hour? I’ m not that sure tho but it was a quick decision and he choreo it himself with his choreographers input.
Did you notice how ten formed the letters of his name with his body at the beginning ? Did you notice also how ten sang beautifully for his choreo, that's probably were the "musicality" came from. I really like how you said his technique is just pure talent, mixing all the dance styles he learnt and make it his own..
I'm glad you've finally been introduced to another video of taemin dancing bc move didn't do him justice at all. But in this video it was really too short, that's why you should watch famous, want and his stages in hit the stage. Or even his super m stages bc he is crazy.
Kai's one is my favorite. I don't have a lot to say expect it made me emotional the first time I watched it

Loved the uniqueness of Kai’s performance. It was so different and enthralling. So much body control and finesse there. I was so drawn to his emotions too. When he was struggling with various feelings, I could feel the same struggle. And Kai is telling a story with his performance. It’s called Door. He has explained the concept in detail in one of his live Instagrams. Taemin's originally a popper. He taught himself to dance. It's amazing to see how he evolved as a dancer from being a popper to contemporary, and everything in between. Taemin's part was short because he didn't have enough time to choreograph a longer dance. He was in the middle of his Japanese comeback with the song Famous, while preparing also for SuperM's debut.

@@des2bfree yeah, you're right the choreo is made by Kasper, but it's known Taemin usually contributes in the development of all his choreos. What I actually mean is he didn't have enough time to learn and practice a longer choreo.
This perf is basically showing their original styles while also showing the progress they made over the years, styles they picked it up and other aspects they refined. Ten is pure talent as u said. Taemin always was into and good at hard hitting popping/locking. even tho he can do various styles, Kai likes to move more "lyrically" as u wud call it especially for his solos which i hope u wud react to in the future. This particular piece is called "Door" as u can see him opening a door when he starts. its abt him entering his late father's dream. there is an alternate ver he did for a Gucci campaign. i hope u wud check that out too. he is all sharp, precise and fast movements mixed in with subtle and soft ones and his facial expressions are the pretty cheery on top to complete the performance.

Taemin's dance style is very unique. Even if another Kpop İdols Cover him dance, it doesn't feel the same. Because Taemin's body control is at a very high level. He is Popping in general dances heavily. Popping dance is a dance that requires a lot of power and control and is the best Taemin among Kpop idols.

Each of these performances was self-choreographed with the intent to show off the talents of SuperM's 3 best dancers,
Fun fact: Did you notice that at one point in Ten's dance he spelled his name with his body? If you didn't see it the first time, go back and look. When they say T E N. He makes the letters with his body.:D
Taemin actually started out as a self-taught popper and locker as his primary dance style. What you see him doing now is a little bit of every style which he has evolved into his own style over more than 12 years as a dancer. SM had originally intended SHINee to be a hip-hop group, so Taemin started his training in more hip-hop style dances. So, he has a very solid background as a popper. But as you have seen, he has now incorporated a lot of the body isolation and ticking movements into his more contemporary, modern style of dancing. Over the years, Taemin's style of dance has evolved and now he has created a style that is all his own. That's why it's almost impossible to copy what he does, because it's so technically advanced and can't really be defined. Taemin is so unique that it's no surprise you are having a hard time trying to describe his style. :D There really are no words that accurately describe what makes Taemin such a legend.
Also, ff you notice, at the beginning of Kai's dance it looks like he is trying to open a door. Kai in Korean means door or gateway, so this dance was created by Kai with that in mind. Kim JongIn's stage name is Kai because as the center of the group, his name is supposed to symbolize his role as the door or gateway in EXO's storyline -- that's also why he was given the superpower of teleportation because he is able to transport himself anywhere as if he is a door that connects all the EXO and SuperM members together, etc.
Also something to note, is that SHINee's fan color is aqua blue/green and NCT's fan color is green and, although EXO's fan color isn't red, red plays a big role within EXO's storyline (which represents the Red Force). So the colors you see in this performance are, I think, a nod to their individual groups, as well as a part of SuperM's storyline.
You will also see all 3 of these colors prominently featured in all of SuperM's teaser videos for each of the members and the group as well.

T E N at the beginning.
When Ten got chosen as the member with the best flexibility, he shared that it's because he used to do gymnastics when he was younger. I think the first work that Ten did with a bit of contemporary (or traditional idk) feel is Dream in a Dream in 2017, this was his first solo dance-focused song. I too, have never seen anyone perform like Ten 😂 He can really execute multiple types of dances well and every single time, there's a Ten signature to it.

So here is the thing.. Taemin is my everything, I just love how he describes feelings with his body. Ten, I can't with him. He is just pure Talent with a big T. And Kai. Oh my, where to begin. It feels like he is posessed. Only when he's dancing. There's just.. something in his eyes. I can't look at him. And I'm serious. Of course in a good way. This is a deadly trio. And in my opinion, the strongest. As I said.. Taemin is everything but with Ten and Jongin, it's not just everything, it's a universe.

It was something else, and I just cried. I'm so proud of them, and these boys too. They have come a long way.
Please react more to Taemin, this performance doesn't show his whole potential, but you could see how different his dance style can be, from Move to this. Please give him a chance and SHINee too, they are amazing performers as well.

Taemin makes my heart flutter whenever i see him dance haha. I love all of his dancing styles and his body control is incredible. As far as i know, popping is one of his favorite dancing styles! You have to check out Press your number (Performance Version! Version 2)
i would also recommend Famous and Sayonara Hitori. But japanese music is a little bit hard to react to because of copyright... So those you can maybe check out on your own haha

Taemin is an incredible dancer, not only in his performances as a soloist, but also in his performance as the main dancer in SHINee, it is a pain that you do not give him another chance because you did not like the choreography of Move. I suggest you Press your number video performance and Danger and Want mv and dance practice.
Taemin is a versatile and well-rounded dancer. Since you seemed to like Ten's dance style in this video, you should check out Taemin's "Flame of Love," the dance version and "Sayonara Hitori/Goodbye", the live version. You will be amazed!

That's why a lot of people are amazed with Ten. He can really like, adjust his body like according to the song or genre. He can do hiphop, contemporary, etc. And he's very flexible❤.

I have never click so fast when i saw the notification!! I love your reactions!! I have been waiting for this!! Actually Kai learned Ballet and Jazz when he was a kid and his dad really made him reach for his dreams. For me Kai when he dance its so different because i feel that every dance he choreography’s it has an story to it and the way he moves it just different and it always touches my heart. Also Kai and Taemin are best friends! They are one of the best dancers in korea and I’m grateful for SM for having them!

Hi Jeff! Glad to see you also love Kai. You might want to see his dance in EXO's concert Baby Don't Cry (one of my fav dance from Kai). And I agree with you related Ten's dance. He has his strong and sharp intuition in almost everything. I can see it in one of their variety show (NCT Life season Hansik Cooking Challenge(?) I forgot hahaha), Ten said that he never do any cooking before but turns out his strong intuition led him far more than any of us would expect. Even his members said the same thing about it (Ten's sharp and strong intuition).

Taemin is definitely a popper, that’s his I guess niche and choreo he does in Move and Want is a departure from what he originally does.

what i like the most from the dance video is that the dancers danced in a way that shows their identity and their color, which is v unique. in ten's case (im sorry i am such a 10vely lol) even he sang in the background music ("ten on the floor, ten on the floor you gotta give it up now") also interesting that you brought up ten's gracefulness and his knee work! actually in 2017 ten went hiatus for months apparently because he got injured and got a knee surgery. amazing that after all of that he is still slaying and stealing our attention. truly born to be a star!

I think you would really like Taemin's "Sayonara Hitori". It is one of his most beautiful dances/mvs. Just be careful since it is a Japanese release and those tend to get strikes on YT.

could you react to a video called 'the performers act v.' it was kai's performance collab with vogue, gucci, and gq and one of my favorite dancing videos of kai. it isn't as much of a dance video, but it's more of a video that kinda shows his story and how he got to where he is now. :)
Taemin's part is too short ㅠㅠ Actually when he debuted at 14 years old, he's into popping, he's a self-taught dancer since he didn't take any dance class back then before he became a trainee. But after that he's been learning other styles as well.

Kai's literally an art himself idk I'm really shook and cried when the first time I saw that vid . There's literally like no music but he moves fluidly and beautifully idk and the fact that song have a deep mean oml I love him so much but I can't deny how talented taemin and ten 😭❤️💖
