Neither of those teams were championship caliber. You're not going to win when your best players are notorious for choking, Boston last year had a far superior roster and he took them to 7 and won a game with Embiid hurt. Prior to that, he had to deal with Ben Simmons who is even worse than Harden. Anyone who thought they should have gone to a Finals with those teams had unrealistic expectations.

Stats arent everything. Didnt they have an easy schedule so far and are one of the worst defensive teams in the entire NBA? This wont hinder you to have a decent record in the regular season, if you have a great player like Giannis, who manages to carry you nonetheless. But what about the playoffs, which is a completely different beast. Also we dont know about all the problems between the coach and the team, which may have occured.

There are many people who are questioning the Doc Rivers fit for the Bucs, but I think the more relevant and important questions should be directed towards the Buc’s front office. They are the ones who fired Budenholzer, hired a rookie head coach to lead the team, and fired him with half the season left. This seems to me like they have made many poor decisions that need to be accounted for.

I agree about Rivers tenure with Philly, you can't place that fault on Doc about the three years of turmoil he had to deal with. From Simmons not showing up to Harden just flat out quitting, that on them and feel sorry for the clippers and the nets that that they're carrying excess baggage around.

Only reason i have even the slightest bit of faith is because this bucks team is the closest to that 08 Celtics team Doc Rivers has coached. The team has balance, depth and chemistry and they all want to win. Nobody outside of Middleton is too injury prone and they got defense and offense. The same cannot be said about the clippers nor the 76ers when he coached them. They were all incomplete and incompetent teams with selfish stars and injury prone players

Tracy McGrady should have gone to an NBA finals back in the early mid 2000s when the Orlando magic was hot when Doc was head coach. They were up 3-1 and end up losing a series. But during that time Shaq and Kobe was dominating the league. But that would have been a great finals Magic and Lakers though.🤔 But this is it though for Doc Rivers. If he can't win a title with Giannis and Dame, and only tell you got the show for yourself is the '08 Big 3 Boston Celtics title, it was really more about the players than the coaching. 😕
