I'm here to learn too! The Caribbean wine is in belly dance what we call an 'internal hip circle.' It's the same pelvic move but the legs are held closer together.

as a puerto rican, can confirm the grandma after 2 glasses of wine.... grandpas do it too. I learned it from my dad. when he really feels it, the up hand does a flutter. They lean forward and close their eyes, maybe bite their lip or start shouting vowels. they go into their own little world. nothing else matters but that moment with yourself and the music.

When I was younger I taught myself some belly dancing and it’s basically a lot of the same movements. Best advice I got was to bend your knees and lift your heels to help bring your hip up. Depending on the type of belly dancing, you’re doing a lot more work with your legs than you are with your abdomen, even though it doesn’t look like it. And isolate your upper-body as well.

Backup frothing: Grab a small whisk of any type, stick it upright in your mug, and quickly roll it back and forth between your palms for 10 - 15 seconds. Instant froth! That's how I made my own fancypants froufrou coffees for years before I picked up a real mini-frother. Never go without bougie morning foam ever again.

First of all, Gala is gorgeous. Second of all, have you ever tried “Ceylon” cinnamon? It’s a different species of cinnamon tree and is less harsh tasting has more antioxidants and better flavor than regular cinnamon! Had to try your PB waffle. Third of all, you’re a fantastic teacher. Very thorough and down to earth. Love your videos! ❤

@@tan_jem Yes as she sd Ceylon is way healthier and better for the body. So cinnamon contains coumarin which can damage the liver and affect blood pressure. Hence the western medicine Coumadin 😉 a blood thinner. Too much Cassia cinnamon which is what is typically found at most stores is what is sold. Look for Ceylon at local health food stores. Ordering online mountain herbs is a great company that many of us herbalists use. 💖🙏 Also if I remember correctly almonds are 5 a day. Most nuts can cause toxicity in high doses just like vitamins 😉

I didn't grow up in the Carribean but my whole family is from the islands so I'm loving your while vibe! We learned these dances watching everyone else, but I've never heard anyone explain them so well! You're a great teacher ❤ and aunties, grandparents, they get that liquid courage and be feeling 22 again! 😂
Growing up the granny was my mother’s signature move. It was also done by every relative over 60! I agree that every Caribbean island has a different name for the dances. The waist tick was called the dollar wine and the movement to each side was given an amount.

My favorite I've found was a blueberry creamed honey stirred into black coffee, or if you're running really gutter - a caramel apple Tootsie sucker in black coffee. I can't dance yet so I added what I could. Dig the dances. You're cool as hell. Thanks for the happy vibes.
