Nobody is a great song too, and I see where you're coming from with the "repetitive" nature of it. But i think it shows more than just guitar in the song which means it's more rhythm based than a driving force in the song which I think makes it somewhat unique.

My interpretation of the inspirations behind the song:
    0:00 - 0:32 Phlegmatics - Disco Volante - Mr Bungle (the instrumentals)
2:01 - 2:26 Snubb a Dubb - Mr Bungle - Mr Bungle (soft falsetto with the dreamy like instrumentals)
2:26 - 3:19 Sudden Death - Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny Demo - Mr Bungle (Thrash metal with chaotic solo)
4:32 - 6:15 Retrovertigo - California - Mr Bungle (bittersweet and melancholic acoustic chords)
They’ve gone and created a Bohemian Rhapsody(esq) structured song and found a way to add in a style from every Mr Bungle Album and still maintain the originally that makes Avenged Sevenfold so bloody good!
    This song is a masterpiece!

It is sooooo different. But when they released Nobody, they said that it was middle of the road on the album. There would be weirder stuff and more traditional stuff. They also said even their die hard fans would hate the music. Which, I’m not sure I agree w that. I’ve only listened to this once cause it dropped so late. The beginning threw me off, but I love it.

I don’t know if it’s a masterpiece but so far, it’s fucking good. A lot of people who hate on it want another generic album, but those albums are nothing musically. Most of the songs off self titled are basic pop songs played with metal instruments. It’s why they were never taken very seriously as musicians and clowned on often. While I like their previous work, these last two albums are true artistic efforts from them, which I can certainly appreciate. This is them as artists trying to take you through a journey in music form, not just create songs any longer.

This song same as the last single “Nobody” at first I wasn’t a fan but after like 3 total listens they definitely grew on me and I’m very excited for this new album.

I think in a few decades critics will look to later Avenged Sevenfold work as modern progressive avant-garde metal aproach to Pink Floyd \m/

Geebz, it's a nice format! In some cases it's important for us subscribers to see the genuine first time reaction, but being able to hear a more weighted and detailed analysis of what's going on is really important too, and it's also what draws people to your channel - and it's definitely more weighted and full after a second listen.

I'd suggest this with most bands but especially avenged sevenfold. You should go through the discography on your own time and listen to a track or two from each album just to see the change/growth but one thing has always stayed strong and true and thats the composition and way they set they layer everything. It's really cool as a fan from The Sounding of the Seventh Trumpet to see how far they've came.

I actually didn't like Nobody until I heard this song because it helped me understand the concept and themes they're going for with this album. I loved this song on first listen, and now I also think Nobody is one of the most intelligent songs they've ever written. I'm super excited to hear the rest of the album.

Glad you dug the track! It’s completely different but they deserve some more love so I highly recommend the band “Makari”! The track “Better” is awesome but I recommend it specifically because if you’d like, there’s also a live acoustic version available for you to listen to here on CZcams, along with the standard version with the music video!
