In the florida keys, a lot of deep water sharks wash to the beaches to die. Something strange is happening.

Get used to these scenes. Off the coast there will be 176 wind turbines anchored to the ocean floor 27 miles off coast. Whales use sonar to guide themselves so they’ll be bumping into these things if they swim nearby them. And these things are better for the environment? Where does the oil in the units end up if they fail over water? Just a joke.

The risks need to be managed carefully that's for sure. Proper siting, monitoring. But we desperately need clean energy because global warming is also warming the oceans and negatively impacting whale populations, too.

@@stephaniebaima6947 I believe we need a cleaner environment but it should be considered the negative impacts from these changes as well. The turbines kill thousands of birds of prey every year as well. Perhaps a different less invade design might be better suited for such issues. But instead everyone panics the world is coming to an end if we don’t act today. Don’t jump into water head first without checking the depth. Only then we can agree to make changes safely and be happy. 😊

There's no compelling evidence that offshore wind farms are harming sealife. Millions of birds die from crashing into windows and from cats every year, but we aren't outlawing either of those. Navy testing harms sea life and lots of it. @@bobmp3832

So why do they go for the bile of the whale? They just go for that and some of the oil, just like they did 200 years ago.

Where do whales normally go when they die?

I believe the body gradually sinks, maybe different creatures pick at it on the way down, and then when it hits the bottom it's called a "whale fall" and the bottom-dwelling crabs and things have a feast for a while. So I think it's too bad they're not putting it back out there to be part of the cycle.

It also could maybe be possible that they are burying the body with the intention of the bones being naturally cleaned off. I've visited the New Bedford whaling museum and they have several whale skeletons displayed hung from the ceiling and they say the bones were cleaned off by being buried in beaches or cages at sea and then retrieved.

Is anyone here a marine biologist?

This is terrible. Maybe it's because of either contaminated water or the Navy ships sonar?
