Perhaps the most impressive to me in this recording is the sheer openness of that F horn tone! Every note clear as day. As an amateur hornist I struggle with finding the hand position that keeps the instrument most in tune without sounding either muffled or crass, so it dumbfounds me to hear a horn that practically doesn’t sound like there’s anything blocking the bell.
