    Do you know how nice it is to see you wash food straight out of the packaging? It says a lot about you. I love foodie videos and I see so many people dump food (especially meats) straight into a pan or pot right out the nasty plastic wrapper. People (customers and store personnel) drop things, step on them, sneeze, cough on stuff. Wash everything ... Excellent video, I love peppers! Blessings from Texas ♡♡♡

    I wonder how much in weight of powdered chili do we get from a kilo of fresh chili.
    I could stock cheap chili's and use when it becomes expensive.

    Nice video. You've strained the chilli to make it perfect powder.
    I've seen 2 pack/container of chilli, may i know how many grams in 1 or 2 packs to make that amount..thank you.

    If you live in a tropical or humid area you might have to dehydrate them. Too much humidity for simple air drying.

    After cleaning/rinsing and draining excess water...
    I suggest that the stems be removed prior to drying.
    So during the drying... water vapor can go through the hole where the stem was removed.

    To share with you, instead dry them under the sun , i dehydrated them inside the refrigerator. I did this method not only with chillie also some herbs, i.e chopped springonion, mints and coriander etc
    I love your channel. 👍

      just dry anything onions garlic herbs in the warmth of an airing cupboard. Then grind them up to required powder size.
      Truly - paprika is just sweet peppers...hot paprika is sweet peppers with added chillies....
      mmmm amazing homemade flavours especially for bbq meats.

    • @erichanastacio9695
      @erichanastacio9695 Před 4 lety

      Maybe you can dehydrate them behind the fridge (those with grills that people sometimes use to dry those wet/damp clothes, shoes)

      Thanks Sandra for the comment.. the reason why I showed in detail what to do is because some people don't wash them and dehydrate them with all the pesticides on them...

    What you made was not Chili Powder and you are going to confuse people. Chili Powder is mainly a mixture of 3 spices, ground cumin, oregano and paprika. It is only mildly spicy. What you have made is cayenne pepper also known as cayenne powder. It is very hot and spicy. Please do a little research.

    • @Superbassi0
      @Superbassi0 Před 3 lety +6

      Actually, YOU'RE mistaken, and you're confusing people. Chili powder CAN refer to the blend of ground chilies with other spices, but it's more common to refer to just ground-up chilies. The store-bought chili powder I have in my pantry lists "Chilies" as the only ingredient. Cayenne powder, on the other hand, is specifically the powder of ground-up cayenne peppers. Most cayenne peppers I've seen are thin and long, these look a little thicker and shorter, so I don't think this is cayenne powder.

    Chili is a term used for a dish made with beans and meat...Chile is for the chiles that grow in plants, dried to make the powder...so in this case the right term will be "how to dry chile peppers and make ChilE powder"
