I love when teddy talks about inoue
same
one of the "little subtle things" that teddy didnt have time to mention is how inoue threw a lot of right hands to nery's left side, forcing him to defend with his left hand and so he cant throw it as much. very subtle but very smart.
Teddy is a master of his craft
Inoue is SPECIAL
Yeah. He's one of those type of fighters and athletes who come around once in a generation.
Yeap... You can say that again...
Inoue vs Salvador would have been fireworks and an epic fight.
Dont know man... I'd bet on inoue against any fighter that i'v seen last 30 years, round that weight ofcourse...
I have watched boxing since I was in high school, when Iron Mike was KOing everyone left and right, in his early-mid 20s..... as well as when he lost horribly in the same Tokyo Dome.... The way he was knocked down and was crawling on the mat looking for his mouth piece, or something, either in that fight or another one when he lost badly (I remember him crawling on the mat, seemingly looking for his mouth piece, but I don't remember exactly which fight it was).... and so I have some small appreciation for the very hard craft of boxing. So when Teddy uses the word "special" to describe fighters like Inoue and Crawford, I immediately understand what he is saying...
When he goes into Monster mode its a spectacle. He really looks like a predator out there. When he got dropped you saw the look in his eyes he was still focused on his mission. Masterful adjustments he made. His short explosive shots, the left hook, short right straight at the end...so brutal. He dismantled him.
Really solid performance.
Even after the knock down, when Nery was going into overdrive, he covered and still countered solidly a few times, he still looked composed under enormous pressure. In the end, too much speed, to much power too much everything.
@@jeffreycurtis9075 Inoue got a bit careless and paid for it but was not hurt at all. Afterwards it was another ruthless clinic.
Molony-Takei fight was so great. I’m really glad to hear your thought on the fight.
This'll be a good one, I was thinking this after Inoue got the KO win yesterday. 🥊
Inoue got caught w the left hook, like Haney, then he came back like a champ and Boom.
Takei was a world champion of KICK boxing a few years ago. He was saw having a talent to knock out the opponent effectively. Last match tested his patience and endurance.
27 with 44 fights is hardly a "kid". Munguia with the talent he has, should be better than where he is. Defense is very poor for a top fighter. Maybe Roach will bring up more, already saw some improvements in there, just not enough.
Better than going 12 rounds with a p4p great. Not saying his game is flawless but he put a good showing. Not everyone is the best, doesn’t mean he’s not a good fighter
@@matdolor2564 Oh no I wasn't implying he's not a good fighter. He definitely is. I just see him as having even more potential than he showed. He was tremendous in there. He's talented but needs work technically, particularly with the defense.
I understand the original text.
He is experienced but only fought a few names.
I think this fight has changed him.
I think he believes now, and his team, he belongs.
Victor Conte involved in Vada is all we need to know!!
For me Inoue and Crawford are a tie for #1P4P. That come back from that knockdown by Inoue shows just how special he is. Not many fighters can readjust like that
How inou fights bum no talen in that division 🤦♂️ stop hyping him up
My favorite fighter now is Inoue (and has been since he crushed the very respectable Omar Narvaez in only his 8th fight), but I put Crawford as P4P best because he destroyed a guy I thought he'd be 50/50 with in Spence... however, let's say that "The Feel", Usyk makes a mockery of the giant, Fury.....and *IF* he does that, well then I got him as P4P best.................
@@shadowk4718 ha, oh if I had a dime for every one of these guys I see online..........
Inoue is #1 bro. He's just more active. that aspect alone puts him over the edge. Crawford is 2 though.
@@shadowk4718facts they be hyping dude cuz he Japanese
Inoue is pound-for-pound #1 in the world. Yes Bud has other-worldly talent but he's just not as active. the activity Teddy. that's what separates them.
In my 300 years ive never seen anything like the Japanese monster 👻
I don’t get the hype with Benavidez. Dude has no defense, slow feet and doesn’t have that one punch knockout power he’s hyped up to have. Munguia’s boxing skill is way better then Benavidez and he throw alot more punches and based off stats and the eyes view has more power then Benavidez. Benavidez is just a tall cruiser weight who sucks down to 168 and then rehydrates to a cruiser weight
Benavidez is the real deal....all these things you mentioned...yet Benavidez is undefeated....watch how he throws his from his core making the combinations.....quick....fast...short...compact with snap....will go and get you.... talented....Yes.. Benavidez is the real deal
Most guys that dont "get" the hype with Benavidez are the same guys that do not want to see him fight Canelo. They try to find all kinds of flaws in his style which I find interesting. If Benavidez is really that flawed as many think he is then Canelo should fight him next. It should be easy work, but Canelo does not quite see it the same way hence the reason he is asking for ransom money to fight him knowing full well no one will pay him that much money. Ginger knows better.
@@AttorneyBaileybenaburgers beast win was caleb off a loss and andrade who came up in weight, and lemiuex. Terrible resume.
inoue said he is happy he got knock down...not human
Conte has a cozy relationship with the director of VADA
Great episode, and interview with Thomas Hauser.
Enjoying watching and viewing here in South Africa.
Canelo standing up between rounds too, I respect that from a veteran like him. 8-4 Canelo for me. Inoue is top dog of them all right now. That's my view.
2 great talents
Cannello was a joy to watch on Saturday, his high IQ and skill level is why I love the beautiful sport. He makes it look like a work of art the way he puts his punches together, the punches are thrown with great accuracy as well. Only two other people I find as entertaining to watch in the game, and that’s Bud, and Inoue.
I'm a HUGE Canelo fan. I had the first three rounds for Mungia for sure. And a couple of rounds late.
What is your nationality Mr. Grasmick? Just curious. Thank you.
Love listening to you teddy ! You’re one the best persons to break a fight! Much respect 🫡!!❤
Victor Conte is shady, he doesn’t have science degree. He’s a businessman/politician of boxing 🥊.
Today.... commentators are not ....repeat.....not members of the public.....have to be a fighter or well known analyst....what about just a member of the public that is just an average Joe that has an extensive knowledge on the science of boxing and the history of the sport.....no perspective from a member of the public...just an average Joe...not a trainer....former fighter....a simple well knowledged individual that is well informed without motive or agenda.....where if who is our next Max Kellerman?
Leonardo Da Vinci didn’t have a degree either and he was smarter than 99.9% of the history of mankind
Some said that Inoue has trouble with southpaw. He had fought southpaws before and the results are the same, KO. Nery did KD Inoue due to Inoue’s careless, overconfident or too anxious for quick KO. Since after the KD and Inoue has adjusted. Nery’s left hook was nowhere to be found. So, how can anyone say Inoue always has trouble with southpaw.
Great show as always❤
Benavidez is taking a dangerous ass fight.
A would not be surprised to see him lose
caneloill lose w
The analysis of how Cannelo has slowed a tic is amazing. It's not a disrespect of Cannelo! He is a great fighter! The way Teddy explains this is masterful. In Boxing sometimes a tic can be an eternity. Thank you Teddy for you ongoing contribution to the sport of Boxing.
That was excellent. I see it too. That kid would give any other fighter a huge problem but Canelo just has that experience that is hard to overcome.
Gvozdyk actually fought thrice last yr it's gonna be a banger!
He Carried Jaime He relaxs. Robert Garcia noticed that
He carried Mungia? 😂
we all saw that. i pointed that live when Canelo hurt Mungia and Canelo grabbed him right away. I was Canelo is not going to knock this dude out.
A little
not as much as some people think. he was also relaxing to pace himself.
@@jandro8370there was nothing Jamie did to really force Canelo to have to back down from pressing him. Canelo let him work way too much
I've been waiting on this one
I like Teddy but he does not like Canelo it's all good everyone has their opinion. Just wish Teddy can see how many champions he has fought Mayweather, Lara,Jacobs, Cotto,Mosley, Plant,Saunders,Smith,Mungia and GGG twice really Teddy give this guy credit
Because Canelo is a lot of hype. If he was fighting in the 90s he wouldn't be the face of boxing. He's fighting in a weak division in a weak era. Then stays away from the real competition.
He lost against Mayweather, robbed GGG twice and arguably lost to lara, let not mis-remember history here.
Canelo is more corrupt than our current administration!!! Go 😴 joe
@@d.jparer5184can’t forget Bivol
You’re just one of the rabid fans who doesn’t listen and reacts with emotion. He said canelo had a great performance. Shuttup
This is the recap that I was waiting for. Teddy Atlas is the best boxing mind!
Great broadcast guys.
Tuesdays are for tacos and Teddy talks. 2 things that I always look forward to that make the 2nd day of my week more enjoyable.👍
Max Holloway on Joe Rogan's podcast mentioned Teddy's term, "putting water in the basement" as something he did with big guys, and in his fight with Justin.
Cheers to Teddy Atlas ✌️
Knowing people in bodybuilding what he supposedly was positive for is not a performance drug. It's something for recovery and it's not possible for to pass previous test then fail the one he did because this particular drug takes days and days to do anything and wouldn't make sense to take it the day of the fight.. Ryan wasn't supposed to win that fight. He exposed Haney and I just smell something fishy
No one is talking about Gvosdyk because he was retired to 4 years and fought 2 Uber drivers in his comeback fights. And is 37 years old. But Canelo gets flack when he beat Kovalev.
And kovalev was a champion
@@alfredyankson7573 yes sir
Kovalev was coming off a very short rest after having taken a substantial beating from Yarde (when Canelo beat Kovalev). Also, Canelo looked huge against Kovalev (but against Bivol Canelo started all this "live vegan, don't eat meat" plus golfing, and of course he looked horrible horrible against Bivol).
@@Midwesterner223 canelo has never looked huge at LHW. He’s naturally the smaller guy even when he was at 154lbs
@@erosbeltran3544 I was meaning to say was that Canelo in the fight versus Kovalev was 'huge' compared to any other version of Canelo (specifically the Canelo that faced Bivol).
“Let me get down to the brass knuckles” is my new quote 🤣
once-a-year fighter p4p #1? lol yikes
yup, Teddy lost credit there. Sorry fellow Americans (I'm American) but Inoue is no doubt P4P for real fans.
I love it when Mr Atlas get "mad" like the accountant thing😅😅😅
Episode 301 of this show coincides w/ the recap for UFC 301! Too perfect.
Munguia won rounds 1, 3, 8 and 10 for me. That and add the knockdown this was a resounding and very clear win for Canelo.
Great show as always. Slight nit, but I wish you guys had a segment on Aldo-Martinez. I know Teddy's been complimenting of Aldo in the past, and his performance -- crisp punching, using angles, counterpunching, slipping punches past opponent's guard -- against Martinez is right in Teddy's strike zone.
Teddy is correct. Canelo is slower! People forget he went in the ring with GGG and messed up his hand as well and needed surgery !! Both fighters left a piece of their soul in fight 1 & 2 !! I have said this before on fighting platforms !!
That 2nd fight took what was left of Golovkin at age 38, and took 5 years off of Canelos career at age 29. You are seeing those effects on Canelo right now.
Canelo is a smaller guy, everyone he fights is bigger than him, yet he beats them to submission. But this Canelo hater never gives him credit, he is a natural 154/160
Fight Benavidez
He’s the undisputed champion in the 168 division, it doesn’t matter that he was smaller. Canelo is not fighting the best opponents, he’s a 🦆
It’s the only way they get views so ironically canelo is feeding them and their families lol
A natural 154/160?? Maybe when he was younger but not anymore. If that’s the case he should go and fight Crawford at 154, his supposed more natural weight.
Canelo may be a "natural 154/160" but he's a juiced-to-the-gills super-middleweight NOW.
Teddy, do the commentators scoring the fight live have access to the punch stats after each round is over? If so they may be scoring the fights based on that and not what they see.
The flying Scotsman's strength in 'high guard' is so solid at 168.
Also the guys neck strength super solid.
Takes a really solid puncher (such as Bivol), to get solid shots through.
Couldn't they do the weight cut earlier? Gives them more time to rehydrate and would give time to test for 'picograms.'
I had Munguia winning first 3 as well but Canelo 7-5 don't think Teddy dislikes Canelo. I think he dislikes the fact Canelo has been give WAY more credit by the judges than he deserved. . A draw vs GGG when GGG won 1st fight easily, the fixed looking BIvol fight where crooked judges had Canelo winning thru 9 I think Canelo great and has fought best career competition since Roberto Duran. But he clearly lost badly to Bivol and lost first GGG fight Don't forget about Lara fight & GGG 2 many gifts
I love the integrity of Teddy Atlas.
Thanks!
The solution is simple. Move the weight-in back a day or two but have a maxium rehigrate clause in effect.
Can you guys go over the fury uysk one more time fight week 🙏🏻
Canelo carried the kid, the fact he is Mexican as well and was very respectful to Canelo, Canelo did not want to mess up his future promising career. He did just enough to win a convincing win and didnt want to break his fellow Mexicans spirit.
Are you Mexican too Mr. Tiano?
@@bgonza2 no I am not
@@MarkoTiano What is your nationality Mr. Tiano and do you like Mexican boxers? Honestly. Thank you.
@bgonza2 I m European, and yes Mexican fighters are among my favorite fighters of all time. They come to fight, not mess around and run.
@@MarkoTiano Yes!!!! You just made my entire day with your response Mr. Tiano.
Mr. Tiano, may I please know what is your earliest memory and history with my country of México, with Mexicans or with Mexican culture as far back as you can possibly remember as a child or teenager in your native country?
In other words how did you first learn about Mexico's existence? Perhaps your very first knowledge of México occurred in school, or from watching a movie, or a television program, or a sporting event, or accidentally listening to a Mexican song? Or maybe it was your father or mother or another family member or a friend who first introduced you to anything relating to México for the very first time in your life? Or perhaps your very first knowledge of México occurred in some other way?
For example I was just 5 years old in 1985 when my father took me to watch Rocky IV in our local movie theater. This was the first time in my life that I heard the words: The United States of America. Before Rocky IV I didn't know what the United States of America was, nor that it even existed in the world.
The reason for asking you all these strange questions is because we as Mexicans are by far the most culturally patriotic people for our country, for our culture and of our ancient history more so than any other nationality on Earth has for their own. Trust me, our love for México is like a religion for us it is that extreme. However...
At the same time we recognize and are deeply ashamed and embarrassed of our centuries old corrupt Mexican government which is mostly responsible for all of Mexico's many problems particularly with our vast poverty, organized crime, general crime and lack of good employment opportunities. This is why millions of Mexicans migrate northward to the United States of America seeking a better life for our families and ourselves. Unfortunately the Mexican government is still too powerful to overthrow or change for now. But all the negative things about México are for another time.
As a result of our extreme patriotism, we absolutely love whenever we see people from other nationalities that have any personal interest in our country, in our people or in our culture. In your case with our Mexican boxers! Perhaps you also love other Mexican related things!
Seeing people from other nationalities that have any personal interest in our country and our culture fills us with much more with patriotism, honor, joy and means more to us than you can possibly imagine. This is why I'm asking you all these strange questions. I would truly love and appreciate your honest responses to all of my questions Mr. Taino. Thank you for your time and God Bless.
Respectfully,
Benito González García.
You expect inoue to win by tko or ko, and he usually does
Special fighter
Ken , Another Dessert run through the night in a blizzard ! The whole circle. I am near Kens age a longtime boxing fan , My dad had won in the Golden Gloves after the war where he received many medals , He was a professional , Like Teddy I grew with a physician , THE GREAT WESTERN RUN IN NORTHERN CALIF NEAR AUBURN AND FOKSOM LAKES THAT GOES THROUGH FOREST-HILL WITH RATTLERS TO COUGARS ( big ones 220
plus) and bears ! Also Ken the big hairy guy I won’t say anything on , I know! It goes on at night with coverage where they can light it up with accessibility in the woods ! Wild country Ken ! Should go for it ! Kevin .
Controversial Opinion: I think Benavidez wins and I think he wins relatively easy. I mean NO disrespect to the Teddy, I think he's just forgetting one thing. Gvozdyk in 2024 is NOT the same fighter as he was in 2019. I watched his fights, they are against....lesser opposition.
I think he's got experience, confidence, all the things Teddy named BUT I think that all goes out of the window when he starts getting hit clean consecutively. I think he'll look good early but in the middle rounds I think he'll start to remember why he retired. David isn't as strong as Artur but he's faster has good instincts. I think he'll hurt him and Gvozdyk will get dropped and if not TKO'd will quit in his corner in round 9 or 10.
This is my prediction.
Q
Both guys have a strong chin specially Canelo.
Wilder rarely throws body punches
All he knows are windmills…
I feel Teddy, I'm currently in physical therapy for a torn meniscus... And man 🥵🤬😅
14:00 This seems to happen in all of Canelo’s fights when it comes to the scoring. I was stunned when even one of the commentators claimed Mungia won the first round but not the second and third. It’s like Canelo is so expected to win that he gets given the rounds by default.
Why isn’t Benavidez stepping in to fight Bivol? He has the opportunity to prove he wasn’t lying about all that I beat Bivol in sparring talk. But I doubt that was even an option for him. Because I don’t think Benavidez really intends on staying at 175lbs. I think this is a one off fight for Benavidez. I think he chose this fight because he couldn’t fight anyone else, but David Morrell without getting criticized. And how do you avoid that? You move up.
NEITHER BENAVIDES OR MONRREL CHALLENGE THEMSELVES TO FIGHT BIVOL
Benavidez was a huge 168, I think he’s starting to outgrow it naturally
You typed all this for no reason, the answer is simple: Turk doesn’t want to intervene with the plan of Bivol v Beterbiev. He wants that fight to happen first and he’s in control of the card not Benavidez or his promoter.
@@pandabear1576 I get that, he’s the guy with the money he calls the shots. And I also was looking forward to that fight. So my question to you will be, ¿so then you’re OK with Canelo fighting Crawford since Turki Alalshikh wants that fight instead of Canelo vs Benavides?
Teddys all over the place here
FYI Conte helps a lot of PBC signed fighters
Think I remember Larry Merchant saying that he would get letters from Archie Moore...can you imagine that?
Like that statement "been around long enough to have my own damn thoughts"....like that
Munguia not only did well but fought like a true warrior under duress later in that fight. He deserved much more respect than he got by jim grey post fight
Munguia is a great fighter, but slow.

@@bgonza2 I just like good, tough fighters who are willing to give their all to try and win, to be honest. I appreciate "Mexican Style" guys, and the pride Mexican fighters take fighting for their country and the love and passion Mexican fighters give back to their fighters, but I appreciate all good fighters regardless of their nationality, race, or their style. As long as they come to win, I'm a fan.
@@redblacktichy7713 I didn't think he was that slow the other night, rather he didn't use his height and reach to his advantage. But he did slow down later for sure, but he was taking a lot of punches and was very aggressive early on and threw a lot of punches. Also I noticed his technique got sloppier as he fatigued. I have a feeling he'll really get better after this fight in the same way Barrios has improved, and Canelo improved post-Mayweather and Lara.
the monster in the uk or usa next would be epic
Conte is also on team Haney!!!
Makes no sense how would they find it when dehydrated and not when he was in camp?
Is funny how Teddy never mentioned anything like this about Canelo, when Canelo face 3g he was same age as Munguia had almost the same amount of fights and Teddy mentioned nothing about still developing,Teddy makes good points, but he also plays favorites and had double standards.
Think about it. They get tested when there most vulnerable to get caught the results sre know before the fight and they can rehydrate a reasonable amount.
Love you teddy but just say you don’t like canelo. I get it. The kingdom gotta fall at some point
It’s not that he don’t like him. Teddy just knows truth. Canello ducked Benavidez for years. Picks his opponents and lost a couple a fights to better fighters. Great fighter for sure. But not the king he portrays to be
Teddy needs to invite Inoue, Canelo and Oscar on his podcast. Oscar could translate for Canelo if needed. Just try to get it done.
Yep others completely ignoring gvozdyk in same way some talking about fury vs Joshua like usyk doesn’t exist
Gvozdyk isn't an impossible fight to win but still a very hard one
Victor Conte recommended the top wigs in VADA. I agree with Teddy for once. The amount was so low in quantity has no effect. I don't think Ryan took it intentionally.
Why are people saying that? I have not seen any official reports about the levels that were in his system.
Regarding Garcias failed drug test, Teddy gave him a pass. That's a cop-out.
I've never heard Teddy sound so calm when talking about a fighter who tested dirty. Damn! I hope he isn't compromised because he likes Ryan
I was wondering the same.
Normally he’d be screaming to the rafter… just look at How he handles Whyte, Miller, Ortiz, Valdez…. It’s sad to see him not maintain the same energy…. But at his age maybe it’s taking a toll. Cause he was all over the place until Ken steered him back.
THE FIGHT with Teddy Atlas Teddy is absolutely right; taking nothing from Nery Inoue has since said he was 'nervous.' Why? Maybe all the expectations on him...

Teddy is weird. He took an angle to explain how Garcia fans felt, playing devil's advocate, knowing personally himself how testing and how people hide steroid usage. He knows Exactly what's up, weird angle for a guy who's a spokesperson for the sport.
Ken's explanation of doping was excellent.
He's been there done that as a trainer

I think he’s saving benavidez for the passing of the torch

Devon haney got his ass woop plan and simple
Loma shoulda got a second voice in the corner with his dad. His dad’s great but their strategy has cost them in several fights. He doesn’t start fighting til the fourth round and like teddy says gives up rounds late sometimes. Hes never fought all 12 rounds in his career I’ll never understand it.
Re: Pantoja vs Erceg
The current UFC scoring criteria values DAMAGE above all, including ground control time. Erceg won.
Yes test afer the fight also.
Big Atlas fan but he’s coming across like P Diddy history with Ryan Garcia 😂
Ryan also worked with snac. Victor conte had nothing to do with the ryan test.
Ryan Garcia wasn't dehydrated, they didn't struggle to make weight, you can see in his skin and how much energy he had all the way right up until the day of the weigh-in, he was never dehydrated, so that Victor Conte explanation doesn't add up.
I wanted him to talk about Michel Pereira...
I had it 8 rounds to 4 - Canelo. Munguia won the first 3 rounds and won a later round as well.
