      JJ (as they call him) is an exceptional commentator in my opinion, because he keeps it about the game and the current play! He is not often (if not ever) referring to old stories and past experiences when there is play at the table! And the most important, he doesnt try to sound cool by talking in punchlines all the time like the usual commentators of the last years in the big tournaments (US Open, Mosconi etc). Alex Lely, Ralf Souquet, Mika Immonen, Thorsten Hohmann, Darren Appleton are all amazing commentators (Although I'd understand if these guys prefer to play instead of commentating :) )

    I can't see why pro billiards can't have rules banning jump cues, at least for the finals. In my days what made pool exciting was the massé and the calculated kick shots and kick safes and yeah, not kick saves. That's why people liked watching players like Reyes, Strickland, Bustamante, and so on. Just take for instance the fact that Chinese Taipei is now considered the best pool players per capita over the Philippines, who not long ago were considered the best, and yet the Chinese Taipei matches aren't as exciting to watch as the Philippines matches were; I guess it's an era thing.

    • @marshalcraft
      @marshalcraft Před 4 lety

      @@princeamin4125 Yeah Filler defeated him in world 9 ball final. Most pro's put that title as highest, so for Carlo to come so close, and then play him in other matches, he probably does not care to some degree cause he already lost possibly the match that really mattered. Also too there is age difference, and we see as players get a little bit older playign already some 20 years pro pool, apparently it is tough to keep their game to same level. People think that because someone was ounce really good they are always really good. But if the level of motivation is lower from playing so much, even with a lot of practicing the reality of it is, you will regress and no longer be able to play/do the things you did in top form. I personally like Biado better then Filler, cause he's got I think experience. It's one thing to win when you are young and every thing is working, but to still play good after a long time is another challenge all in it's own.
