@@ryanthomas9306they are cheap and fun. Kinda like authentic clones of $10,000 - $100,000 watches. In fact they even have near 1:1 Moonswatches of really cool Omegas like this with amazing complications. Definitely not for me, I prefer my Seiko 5’s in this range. Still great value for money.

Which is the intent. They want you to buy it, hate it, then buy a real speedmaster.
Omega didn’t have anything to do with this lol. They’re owned by Swatch Group and it’s Swatch made and Swatch movement. Even sold in Swatch stores. Swatch just used omegas most iconic design and branding to sell to people who can’t afford a real Speedy. This watch is a stain on Omega’s heritage if you ask me. Has nothing to do with them whatsoever and it devalues their brand actually.

The reason people line up for these is because it is swatch prices for an Omega watch which they buy to immediately flip on Ebay for a ton of money
@@dwong98 nah, its swatch watches for a swatch watch that imitates the look of an omega. Most people who buy omegas do it for the reliability and craftsmanship of having a fully mechanical watch. Swatches are quartz watches. The only thing they have in common is the look, which swatch probably paid omega millions for.

Mars is my fav. I scored the last one by chance that one of the selected boutiques had Thanksgiving weekend. No regrets but I immediately changed the strap out for a white rubber strap from Barton. Might spring for the Omega velcro strap at some point. I'm enjoying it.

Not sure how I feel about these watches, super easy to grab in london nowadays and they feel quite cheap!
Because they are cheap, quality is bad even for the originals, not to mention the fakes that already filled the grey market and second hand market.

Like I don't get it why people want to get this watch so bad?! With that money you could easily buy a Tissot, Seiko or a used Hamilton that have better movements, look more beautiful, and at least you will look like a gentleman not a plastic clown. People who buy this watch have absolutely zero knowledge about watches. Even the watch snobs are keep saying that Moonswatch is a scam and garbage.
Hype and because people want it so it feels like you are missing out if you don't get it. I wanted one and then I saw it in person and I was like nah.

Like you can? Not everyone is walking around with 8 grand to drop on any given day lmao. The speedmaster isn't even the best of the moonwatches. You can get the lunar pilot for substantially cheaper and have a much better constructed watch. And it has a sapphire crystal, compared to acrylic which the original and moonswatch have. I have both, and I wear my lunar pilot far more often.

Production in China is a major dealbreaker when I look to buy stuff that matters to me. I have and will go the extra mile to get high quality things.
Of course not everything made in China is complete garbage either. When I began learning guitar I bought a Squire, which is a lower quality Chinese version of Fender. With that sort of thing it just makes sense, and actually its quite well made for what it cost.

Glad I bought an Alpha speedmaster chronograph. Seagull st1903 mechanical mov. Hardened mineral glass. Stainless steel. When the swatch store didn't even wanted to take effort to call their customers when they had stock, I started to use my brains.
So hard to go back to a dumb watch after using my Apple Watch Ultra. I leave my phone behind all the time now, just use the watch for everything. It’s pretty cool if you haven’t tried it. 10 out of 10, would recommend!

Last week I walked into my local Swatch Store. They had 4 Models available; Mars, Venus, Uranus and Sun. I didn’t buy one since I’m waiting for the Mercury Variant.

Bought two of these for my friend and his wife cause the friend was literally raving about these watches and seemed like a cool colab but honestly the watch just felt very gimmicky and cheap and not worth the price.
My friend was very happy though so I guess, it worked out okay.

They have some very cheap ones too and I think they also have some that are more expensive.
In fact the Swatches are top quality watches, and it’s also a very innovative brand since its creation.
They are 100x more precise than all of the automatic watches, even for the ones that are sold for hundreds of thousands dollars…

Everyone who’s saying it’s a cheap cash grab is completely missing the point of Swatch. Sure it’s pricy, but really you’re paying for the Omega brand. Swatches own chronographs go for half the cost of the moonswatch. What Swatch did is helped put an Omega watch on the average person’s wrist, and that’s pretty cool.

Hey I wish it was cheap. If it was $6 I'd totally camp out just for the experience of it and the hype MINUS actually irresponsibility wasting money on brittle plastic garbage with unstable paint and uncomfortable band.
It retails for 250€. You can buy some vaguely well made stuff for that amount.
I personally find the strap very comfortable, I’ve been wearing the mission to mercury as my daily for the past few weeks and I think it’s comfortable enough the way it came.
I'm not into watches but that is a beautiful piece I don't blame you
