- Some of the funniest TV scenes are because an actor couldn't keep a straight face. For this list, we’ll be looking at scenes in various TV series where an actor breaks character. We will not be including live sketch series however, as they deserve a list of their own. Our countdown includes the Peanut Butter Rap from "Community" (2009-15), Ross playing the bagpipes in "Friends" (1994-2004), the Spider Song from "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" (2005-), and more! What happened to Golden Girls? One of earliest ones had Rose telling a story to Blanche and Dorothy while eating cheesecake. Rose starts telling about the flea circus and all the things that happened to said flea circus. At this point one of them asked joke question, and Rose responds in a very serious tone of voice. At this point both Blanche and Dorothy who were struggling not to laugh, completely lose it.
I don't blame the actors for cracking up during the bagpipes scenes, especially when Phoebe joins in. I would probably have done the exact same thing! 😅
This is why I love Pheobe😂
Go watch the bloopers, it's a miracle that they could eventually finish the scene.

Third Rock from the Sun had an even better example of actors not holding it together when Dr. Solomon dyed his hair and wore leather pants to the office. Neither Nina nor Dr. Albright could stop from laughing, and it really worked for the scene since John Lithgow somehow played it perfectly straight.
I would've also included Everybody Hates Chris episode, "Everybody Hates Homecoming", where the family was laughing at him during dinner and Tyler's (Chris actor) face when Drew was throwing bread at him
Frasier (1993-2004) has had some of these moments, too. They are great to watch!
Are you serious? Almost anything with Tim Conway and Harvey Korman. As a matter of fact, the whole Carol Burnet show was a breaking character extravaganza.
That's why they had the disclaimer at the beginning about not including moments from sketch comedy shows. They believe those deserve their own video.

I watched Community, Brooklyn 99, Friends and Supernatural (they should have added Dean's laughter in Yellow Fever aswell) it was hard to miss those 'laughs'

Rosa smiles SO OFTEN in Brooklyn 99. Love that show.
Another one I like from Friends is from "The One Where Ross Can't Flirt". Ross and Rachel argue over whether or not Ross could flirt and Ross told her that it worked on her, to which she sarcastically responds something like: "Yes, you saw me, you flirted, and BAM! Nine years later, you had me!" Not only did Jennifer Aniston deliver that line perfectly, but you can also Matthew Perry in the background who started laughing. What made it even better is that even though he broke character, it would have been very in character at the same time.

Great list! If you do a similar list of scenes from classic tv, please include various times Rowlf the dog appeared on the Jimmy Dean show. Almost every time, Rowlf would say something hilarious and Jimmy would just openly burst out laughing on camera. If he was standing by a fence or sitting on a bench, he would double over on it.
I was actually going to suggest a Saturday Night Live skit before I heard the intro.

#1 the Christmas episode was way better than Prison Mike. It was Ed, Mindy, and B.J. barely hiding laughs behind each other and the wall. John told the camera guy not to swing over to him because he was laughing too hard and couldn't get thru being seen even for a second.
Never seen any of these shows except Friends and Seinfeld

She broke a lot! Every time Rachel put her hands on her face, Jennifer was covering a laugh
I often find it odd that the actors choose not to laugh when the character would. I guess that's t.v. comedy!
