I came here for the sci-fi stuff and stayed for the trains!
Not my hobbie, but I enjoy watching you plan/make stuff. Your forward thinking is great, especially the plan to make the tables modular and can be moved if need be. Well done sir 👍
FANTASTIC! (Yet again.)
Thank you so much James!!! So great to hear from you! 👍
I’m with you Jason on the changing from layout to layout . 👌😎 fred
Thank you!!! 👍
Jason, it’s a joy to watch you work. The quality of your modelling and your dedication to producing these videos is outstanding. Well done! I’m no modeller ( yet ), but I can watch your videos for hours. Truly inspiring stuff… 🙂
Thank you so much Nick!!! I really appreciate it!
The clouds on the wall are amazing I was never into trains but I think you are converting me slowly fantastic work Jason!!!
Thank you so very much!!! It does take some practice to paint clouds. Thanks for watching!!! 👍
I love the clear vision you have for this complex project.
Thank you!!! And thanks for watching!
Lovely work, Jason!
You know how I feel about multi level layouts! You’re not disappointing!
Thank you so much Craig!!! I truly appreciate it!
This will be great
Thank you so much!!! 👍
I see what you are talking about with a mirror to give the impression of the waterway going far down behind the layout. if you could pull that off it would be one of the cleanest things i had ever seen.
Thank you so much Cliff!!!
Jason, Great video on your layout, and plans.
I can't wait to watch you progress the layout.
Cheers, and stay safe, Michael
Thank you so much Michael!!! I really appreciate it! 👍
That is one heck of a layout. I really like the waterfront, I've worked on the ocean on commercial fishing boats and always enjoyed going in the harbor and seeing the old structures that still stand
Thank you so very much Joe!!! I like modeling waterfront scenes because the water and weather can really age things fast so it allows you to do heavy weathering! Thanks for watching!!! 👍
Amazing idea Jason. I cannot wait to see any progress in there!
Thank you so much Davide !!!
THANK YOU FOR GREAT DETAILED VIDEO
Your welcome! Thanks for watching!!! 👍
Very lucky to have just opened CZcams! can already tell this is gonna be great
Lol, first viewer!!! Thank you so much for watching! 👍
Craft foam that is about 1/16th inch thick can be used to make concrete or any other finish you are able to put in there and would hide the seams between layers. The craft foam can be painted any color that is needed.
Thanks for the suggestion Paul! I really appreciate it! I hadn’t thought of using craft foam. 👍
I love your layout. certainly the best on CZcams !!!
Thank you so much!!! I truly appreciate it! 👍
Is looking great, thanks.
Cesar
Thank you so much Cesar!!! I always appreciate it! 👍
It’s going to be excellent Jason. 👍
Thank you so much my friend!!! I always appreciate it! 👍
Love your work Jason, a long way to go yet china. 👏
Thank you so much!!! I’m so excited about the new section! Thanks for watching!!! 👍
I really enjoyed the video, I am starting to do the track plan for my lower level. I gave me some insite on how to lay things out. Looking forward as things progress.
Thank you so much Will!!! I’m glad to hear your getting a good plan together and thank you for supporting the channel! I truly appreciate it! 👍
wow we now start the other side !
It’s gonna be exciting!!! 👍
I know exactly how you feel. I am an N Scaler and am also into 3 rail O Scale as well.
That’s awesome!!! Happy modeling! 👍
It is sad that foam insulation, seemingly used by everyone, is now so expensive but, in a way, I was pleased to hear it's the same everywhere! I was beginning to think it was only the UK where it's expensive. I shall continue to recycle all the packaging I can get my hands on.
Even just gluing down foam your explanation of the thought process is very interesting.
Thank you so much Davie, I really appreciate it!!! 👍
love your work!!!
Thank you so very much!!!
@@JasonJensenTrains I love the idea of a future city! have you considered maybe shifting the backdrop to night to accompany that future megalopolis feel? Looking forward to seeing how this project evolves!
Nice!!!
Thank you so much!!! Always great to hear from you! 👍
Where would we be without our Sharpie?
things would be a lot duller 😁
Exactly!!! Thanks for watching! 👍
Did you say 3 billion years in the future ? No man made artifact could survive that long to be recognizable . Our planet probably won't survive 3 billion years . For reference a million seconds is 12 1/2 days and a billion seconds is 33 years . I would scale that back to maybe 3000 years and if you want wooden structures to be recognizable in the future 300 years would be more realistic . But when it comes to imagination in the fantasy world anything is possible and i applaud you on your effort. I have learned a lot from watching your videos I recently added pilings to my harbor sing using your Barnacle technique as well as long the tidemark on the seawall with the addition of some white bird poop on top the pilings and streaking down the sides keep up the good work .
That is so great to hear Larry! I always appreciate when people say they have learn something or at least try something from my channel. Makes it all worth it! I believe Star Wars is set 3 billion years in the future, I may be wrong on that. I’m just having fun building both layouts! Thanks for watching Larry!!!
Hello Mr Jensen, I have two areas that are foam, one for oil field donkeys, holding tanks etc and the other for an Asphalt plant. Do you have a video that could help me decide how to apply scenery
, roads etc to both areas? Many thanks. Mark
My 2 cents worth, a swing bridge would look more visually interesting 🤔
Well now you have me thinking. I’m going to take some measurements and see if that could work. Thanks 👍
Jason, great work! Where do you get all those buildings from? Do you have a link to a website? Thanks!
Thank you so much!!! I have been building all of those structures on my channel. In each video I tell who makes the specific kit. Some of the structures are from my old layout. Thanks for watching!!!
Of course, I signed up as soon as I watched your video. Question: When you and James (Dirt Spot) talked last. Wasn't it talked about which came first? The train tracks or the buildings (City).
Thank you so very much Lynn!!! I truly appreciate it! Yes, that’s why I had to place structures first before I could lay the foam down and decide on water. 👍
I go to my local recycling center because they are recycling the white Styrofoam and it's free to take
That’s awesome!!!!!
Is HO gauge the same as OO or better still, O gauge?
HO scale is smaller. Thanks for watching Christopher!!! 👍
Looks like your trying to compete with George Sellios ?
I absolutely love his layout! I actually got to see it in person. INCREDIBLE!!!
You! Need to be hired for Movie Sets my friend. Has Lucas Film or Paramount contacted you? 😉
Thank you so much!!! I truly appreciate it! 👍
Sorry, but the Track Plan looks very boring. Two Circles, no Station? No Turnouts?
I was thinking the same thing as well. Maybe the channel should be called Jason Jensens big dire rahma that just happens to have a train running through it . Don't get me wrong the guys are very skilled and talented modeler and I've used some of his techniques but trains are secondary feature to what he is doing .
Yep, this is my third layout and I’ve built layouts for clients. My first layout was all track which left no room for modeling. My second layout was half track and half mountains. Then I discovered my favorite part of the hobby which is structure building. I just enjoy seeing trains run in between structures and through finished scenes. I think people should find out what really makes them happy about what ever hobby they are doing and just run with it! Thanks for watching!!! 👍
@@JasonJensenTrains About 15 years ago I built a city scene that was around 27" wide by 7' long with an L ext, 2' x 8' that was a yard with city behind it.
The 1st section had buildings on the edge of the layout so at no time could you see the train all at once.
Visitors always stood where they could see through the buildings as it was a far more interesting view. There were 4 industrial spots. I spent far more time rail fanning that layout than any other layout I have built.
