Fun fact about dark chocolate, it has one of the highest levels of antioxidants. So it would be understandable to add them to a MRE for health purposes!
the main reason you find dark chocolate in ration packs (especially European) is that it has a higher melting point so is less likely to be damaged through careless storage and handling
Glad to hear that there's many more of your videos on the way, guys. I always enjoy them, and look forward to the stories of your adventures in the Marines. I saw what you were talking about, with the fine powder consistency of the drinks. The hot cocoa mix, almost mixed up without any stirring. I watched most of the powder starting to dissolve and sink, before you stirred it. Very interesting. Keep 'em coming, great video, looking forward to more. God bless.

Strawberry and mint is a surprisingly good combo! It's hard to beat some mint tea, fresh strawberries, sugar and a little ice in the blender on a hot summer day.
Customs typically targets beef and pork products but you may have just got lucky...but these usually have two of those big tins inside. There is usually a spork in the box with the stove. Seems you are missing that, unless this one is entirely meant to be cold, but usually the lunch dish is meant cold and the dinner hot.
Lesley, Welcome aboard! Just an old Marine opening MREs and sharing old stories, some of which are my personal ones and others are just adventures I've read about. TFW!
There should have been a second meal of salmon and pasta in that menu, I guess the custom boys were hungry when they went through your package and liked the sound of the salmon pasta meal lol. If you like Gooseberries, try them coked into a puree/jam with mackerel, they go well together. Another one is Quince jelly, Quince in from the apple family but must be cooked), with a good cheddar cheese, or as I used to have as a snack, a bite of a good green apple with 1/2 - 1 inch cube of a mature cheddar cheese, good combo.
Cela fait plusieurs vidéos que je regarde où l'on test les rations militaire française ; à chaque fois vous commencer par le sucré , voir faites des mélanges comme le fromage et les céréales.
