one thing that lacked here is the tooth should be mounted. students are not allowed to do this(unmounted typodont) and even in real patients, you cannot remove the tooth itself and perform a cavity preparation.

Completely agree with you , this comment felt exactly like faculty's words . But this video was shot during lockdown and at that moment typodont was not with me . So sorry for that but shortly i will post a video making cavity on typodont

What should be the intial depth of punch cut?????

As you know , initial depth of cavity is 0.2-0.8mm so accordingly you can make punch cuts. They are made to make easy preparation, you can take 0.5mm without any doubts
