Hi Tim! I really enjoyed this video and I hope that everyone out there will follow your advice about a daily/nightly skincare routine. I’ll turn 58 this week but I still look like I’m in my 40’s and this is because I’ve been caring for my skin (especially moisturizing) since I was in my early 20’s. Take care and stay well.
Love ur routine! Very simple and straight to the point. I used to have a freaking complicated 10 step Korean skincare routine but now I simplify it to only 5 steps ( make up removal haha cuz I’m a female) and it has made my skin feel so much better and also save me lots of time. Sometimes, simple is actually better.
My skin care advice: don’t touch your face and clean hands more often. Also, I use a Clarisonic face brush when cleansing it scrubs the skin and avoids contact with hands. Unfortunately, they’re going out of business this month but I recently found one on The Art of Shaving. One of the most crucial parts of a healthy skin regiment is exfoliation whether with a physical brush or liquid. You want to clean/unclog those pores and remove oil, dirt etc. Pairing your cleanser with your brush will yield results immediately. Also, for some globbing on a moisturizer right after cleanse might make skin oily and cause breakouts. I use Thayers witch hazel after cleansing. It’s super cheap and is decades older than most products your gonna find on the web best part is it works extremely well. Your also gonna want to implement some kind of anti age moisturizer to start reversing the effects of aging. Brickell sells a cream that is probably the most highly rated right now. Clinique anti age has always been good one too. Lastly, your skin has a natural ph of about 5 (more acidic) your going to want to get products that are around 4.5-6.5. This is the real secret behind glowing skin and getting rid of acne all together. Products you buy will mention ph somewhere on the page or you can call and ask. Also, a good rule of thumb is to start with your lowest ph product first and highest ph last. But you should use products in order: cleanser (with exfoliating) , toner (witch hazel), anti age (moisturizer). It’s still a 3 step routine too! I have suffered from acne for over 10 years and have tried dozens of products but it’s really an experimental procedure
One thing I’m dealing with is hyperpigmentation/acne scars! I’ve been wanting to build a skincare routine from scratch and this video helped out so much.
amora oh lord be careful with homemade skin care coffee grounds can damage your skin honey is fine it’s actually very good for skin and sugar is iffy but it’s water soluble but maybe give some chemical exfoliates a try they’re extremely helpful and work miracles on peoples skin. Not hating or anything I just want to give some advice.
Tip : Instead of using a normal towel to path dry after your routine, I recommend using a disposable kitchen towel/ roll. That way you always have something clean to use on your face. Keep up the good work Tim 👍
I’m a master esthetician of over thirty years and I love that your talking to men about skin. I have taken care of several athletes and professionals that realize if they look better they may be better accepted in life and business. The first thing you should all know is “your not special” ...... We all have the same skin... normal! It’s what we do to it that changes it daily, weekly and monthly. The only difference in skin is color and tone. Also men shave (although many women are beginning to and it’s a great form of exfoliation) and Yes water is life! Also wearing a hat can be as well! To many men don’t wear a hat in the sun and allow their skin to burn and age. You CAN use your “ladies” skin care products. ( it doesn’t matter what the packaging looks like) Skin only needs antioxidants! (Food for skin) Yes change your towels and pillowcases. Just another perspective months later. 🍑Lisa Peaches Skin Care.
Tim, the amount of value you provide is like no other Fashion CZcamsr out there. No gimmicks, no click-bait, just informative, helpful and straight to the point videos. Absolutely love it. Thank you for the lovely content. Cheers!
I gotta say, I really love your channel man!!!! So much great content presented in a great way, and I also really appreciate how you're picky with what brands you accept sponsors from, there are so many channels like yours will be sponsored by ANYTHING and don't care about the quality of what the company offers.
I appreciate his recommendation to find products that are tailored to your skin type, and there are other well thought out recommendations here all provided in his signature well lit, supremely edited, and super chill style. (It's hard to imagine he ever gets stressed! I was shocked to hear he feels stressed about COVID19. He relaxes me.) Your skin becomes dehydrated from sun exposure so you must wear a well formulated broad spectrum SPF 30 or greater every day. Ingesting water does not hydrate your skin. That's not how that works. That is not to say you shouldn't drink lots of water. Exfoliation will depend on skin type as well. He would see drastic improvement by incorporating a chemical exfoliating product into his routine because it can deliver more benefits for skin than just cell turn over.
I'm 30 and skin care was an issue for me bc of my poor self esteem. I always thought," Well, i doubt that any skin care will make me look attractive." That thought was a small chorus in my head from 18 to 28. So, here i am, a little late but willing to try
Literally all I do is stress all the time over random things and stay up all night and have genetically have very oily skin and I only get about 3-5 hours of sleep, and have some insomnia and only drink about one glass of juice or soda a day, I don’t drink a lot of water or, anything really. Thank you for the advice.
The point about eczema is an underrated and important one. I used to suffer from very bad eczema, something a lot of people forget about is that skincare means all your skin. Every now and then make sure you're moisturizing your whole body after a shower, the shower can leave your body very very dry and uncomfortable if you don't use a moisturizer. I'm being 100% serious when I say this is necessary if you have eczema. Before I did this, I literally had to skip entire days of school because I couldn't walk or bend my arms. Please take skin care seriously, take control of it before it takes control of you.
I began taking care of my skins some months ago, and my routine looks basically exactly like yours, and it has done absolute wonders for my skin, and by extension, my confidence! However, you've skipped one part, that I've seen mentioned other places; start out the routine with warm water and end it cold water, to open and close pores, respectively. That alone, before I included products, made a considerable difference for me.
I simply used to enjoy it at the time I had been very little. Even now, there`s still fun and also entertainment. My whole family is actually viewing this video, it’s wonderful. I do think you previously created a identical video. (Yet absolutely no compliant)
1.) I’m actually on a workout routine & diet rn the last couple months so this isn’t bad for me 2.) no idea what my skin type is 3.) I have one general acne wash I use 4.) never exfoliate 5.) wash my sheets/pillow cases once every 3-4 weeks if I’m being honest I’m pretty lazy 6.) I’m pretty stressed trying to find a new job, actually get up for online school, trying to do nofap and relapsing and staying consistent with my diet and working out so I’m pretty stressed. Here I am wondering why I have acne when I’m almost 18 lol
Hi there you seem quite stressed. Fear not my boy it will get better. And if you dont get what you want at least you learn. Regarding your skincare imo i think natural gentle face washes are much better than acne washes. The acne washea hve sulfates and abrasvies which make it worse. Wash your pillow cases about once a weak theres lots of bacteria on them. If not then every 2 weeks. For exfoliating a gentle one is the best. Main thing is drink loads of water. Good luck my boy
Should I add Exfoliation into the skincare routine or do it seperate? If so at which point is the best? As I understand it now: 1 - Warm Water to open the pores 2 - Cleansing (2.5 - Exfoliating) 3 - Wash off with cold water 4 - Moisturizing - Day-/Night Cream - Eye Cream 5 - Sunscreen ( In the morning ) Also on shaving mornings I would change it up to: 1 - Warm Water to open the pores 2 - Cleansing 3 - Shaving Cream 4 - Shaving 5 - Cleanse again 6 - Wash off with cold water 7 - Moisturize 8 - Sunscreen Does it make sense to replace the classic aftershave with a cleanse and moisturizer? Thanks a lot for the great comprehensive video!
These tips are great. For a good skincare regimen, I'd recommend checking out Doctor Youn's videos on perfect skincare routines for morning and evening. The products I use in the morning are: Cleanser: Sodium Sulfacetamide 9.8% Sulfur 4.8% Toner (optional): Thayers Facial Toner Antioxidant: skinbetter Alto Defense Serum (this stuff is amazing) *I don't use eye cream because I'm lazy* *I also don't use moisturizer because the antioxidant I use keeps my skin moist enough; note from my dermatologist: you shouldn't use moisturizer if your skin isn't dry* In the evening, I switch out the antioxidant step for a retinol. The retinol I use is epiduo forte, however, I don't do my evening routine every night as it is really strong. I try to do it about every 3 days. You just have to figure out what works best for you. Doing the daily thing might not work out for your skin type, so either change products or cut back on how often you use it. I'd at least do the morning routine every day though because you ought to be cleaning your face at least once a day, so it's probably best to do it before you go to work.
Man, this video was excellent! Great transitions, lighting, etc. I was hoping to find a decent quality video for men’s skincare, and this was really enjoyable! You got yourself a sub 😉

Brilliant. It always seems that you upload on something I am curious about haha! Wonderful video brother, thank you. Unlike so many youtubers, I really appreciate how genuine you are--how you would never make a video about a product that you never really used. Take care Tim!
Yes Tim the sunscreen is a great addition! Absolutely love that you are adding sunscreen in there. Such a great product for skincare overall! Super underrated.
I highly recommend chemical exfoliating instead of physical one like scrub. Once you find the right product to exfoliate once or twice per week, it will boost the effect of the whole routine to the next level.
Tim Dessaint I myself love the alternation using of Skinceuticals Retexturing Activator & Skinceuticals Blemish & Age Defense. Since you seem to look for simple and gentle product, you can try any of the following: Vivant Skincare 8% Mandelic acid, Skinceuticals Retexturing Activator or Sunday Riley Good Genes. Use 2 times/week is enough, listen to your skin then adjust it less or more. Tip: Don’t care about skin type while choosing exfoliating product, only skin concerns/problems matter in this step.
3:55 - This is a small point, but I feel like its important to clarify for people who might not know: you *can* drink too much water in a day, and it can cause some pretty adverse effects such as hyponatremia, which can be fatal. HOWEVER what Tim is saying is basically true, in that you kinda have to try hard in order to drink too much water, in order to see those negative effects. His recommendation of 3 liters is per day is pretty spot on. Just needed to add that bit of info because I know some people might think that there isn't a way for drinking water could be bad for you, and might try to follow some logic of "Well if 3L per day is good, then 10L per day is even better!" when thats not the case.
Hey Tim, I recommend using the Ordinary's Glycolic Acid Toning Solution (glycolic acid is an AHA or alpha hydroxy acid which is a type of chemical exfoliant).
I will say, be careful with eye cream, especially as a first timer. I used Cerave eye cream (not bashing at all, they’re great), and the bags under my eyes actually got a reaction to it to where the skin started to burn for a couple of days. They say to test new products behind the ears so if any reaction occurs, it will be hidden.

Ashroff Shah when you pee, you flush out electrolytes, which isn’t really a good thing, you should only drink when your thirsty and listen to your body
I also recommend the new face oil from Olivier Midy, this oil smells awesome for men and works great for multiple skincare concerns and is 100% plant based.
I'm part of that 10%! Great video! I am an Esthetician in Illinois and I would tell my male clients everything you just mentioned! Many things are so controversial in the industry so it's nice to keep it simple. The only thing I will add is maybe do less of the eye cream because that area can get what's called milia. They are these pearl like epidermal cysts and those then have to get removed by a medical professional here in the states. I don't mean to scare you with that but just to try and help!
1. Eat well & drink more 2. 3 Step daily routine: (Once in the morning & Once at night) - Cleanse - Moisturize (Using Day & Night Cream) + Eye Cream - Protect (Use Sunscreen after morning cream) 3. Exfoliating once a week (To remove dead skin cell) 4. Change your towels & pillowcases 5. Chill out (To reduce stress hormone which makes your skin oliy and produce acne)

@@muhannadmnea4359 the one that I use every week is basically coffe grouds, sugar or honey and water or milk. Sometimes I add babosa (aloe vera).
amora oh lord be careful with homemade skin care coffee grounds can damage your skin honey is fine it’s actually very good for skin and sugar is iffy but it’s water soluble but maybe give some chemical exfoliates a try they’re extremely helpful and work miracles on peoples skin. Not hating or anything I just want to give some advice.
@@cuzwhynotsmh yeah, thanks, I actually got a esfoliating soap that's very good!
I thought you were Jose for a sec😂😂😂
Tip :
Instead of using a normal towel to path dry after your routine, I recommend using a disposable kitchen towel/ roll.
(Food for skin)
Yes change your towels and pillowcases.
Just another perspective months later.

Tim, the amount of value you provide is like no other Fashion CZcamsr out there. No gimmicks, no click-bait, just informative, helpful and straight to the point videos. Absolutely love it. Thank you for the lovely content. Cheers!
Can we take a moment of appreciation how aesthetic his videos are!
So flattered to be one of those 10% 🙋♀️
I just literally thinking about stepping up my skincare and this pops up in my subscription :D
I gotta say, I really love your channel man!!!! So much great content presented in a great way, and I also really appreciate how you're picky with what brands you accept sponsors from, there are so many channels like yours will be sponsored by ANYTHING and don't care about the quality of what the company offers.
Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoy the videos 😊
Exfoliate once a week
Cleanse (Facial Wash)
Moisturize (Hydrating Cream)
Protect (Sunscreen)
First video I've seen of yours but seeing how well done, educated, and useful it's been, I can already tell I stan.
This is the greatest skin care of all time.
He penguinz0 I’m glad you moved into the skin care realm I with you the best with your new channel!
I'm 30 and skin care was an issue for me bc of my poor self esteem. I always thought," Well, i doubt that any skin care will make me look attractive." That thought was a small chorus in my head from 18 to 28. So, here i am, a little late but willing to try
You got this! It's never too late 🙂
Please take skin care seriously, take control of it before it takes control of you.
yay I'm part of the 10% of female viewers who follow your channel, you definitely deserve a lot more!! I love your content, keep it up!
i really needed this, and yea i have the same with the eczema on my hands, i like your style, you got a new fan :)
So glad you've found it helpful! Welcome to the channel 😊
Does anyone else find Tim's video therapeutic🤷🏾♂️... cause I do!❤❤❤
I began taking care of my skins some months ago, and my routine looks basically exactly like yours, and it has done absolute wonders for my skin, and by extension, my confidence!
However, you've skipped one part, that I've seen mentioned other places; start out the routine with warm water and end it cold water, to open and close pores, respectively. That alone, before I included products, made a considerable difference for me.
Very true about the warm/cold water! Thank you for pointing that out.
u start with warm water before cleansing, but after/before what step do u wash with cold water? Before moisterizer or sunscreen?
My routine
Be healthy
B3 hygienic (wash sheets snd pillow cases regularly)
Exfoliate occasionally
Sweat with infrared sauna
Apply jojoba oil after shower
I've tried skin care for years already and really see the difference from not using it!
I simply used to enjoy it at the time I had been very little. Even now, there`s still fun and also entertainment.
My whole family is actually viewing this video, it’s wonderful.
I do think you previously created a identical video. (Yet absolutely no compliant)
Tim the legend is back. Blessed my feed, thank you for this video. 🙌
LeBeautiful Wtf. You’re here too?
Thank you for watching my dude!
This is the first video...I watched on this topic... Can't be appreciated much.👍🏼
1.) I’m actually on a workout routine & diet rn the last couple months so this isn’t bad for me
2.) no idea what my skin type is
3.) I have one general acne wash I use
4.) never exfoliate
5.) wash my sheets/pillow cases once every 3-4 weeks if I’m being honest I’m pretty lazy
6.) I’m pretty stressed trying to find a new job, actually get up for online school, trying to do nofap and relapsing and staying consistent with my diet and working out so I’m pretty stressed.
Good luck my boy
nofap is bs
Hows your skin now ?
Unironically one of the best beginner skin routine vids I've watched; especially the tips around pillow cases, underrated
Should I add Exfoliation into the skincare routine or do it seperate? If so at which point is the best?
As I understand it now:
1 - Warm Water to open the pores
2 - Cleansing
(2.5 - Exfoliating)
3 - Wash off with cold water
4 - Moisturizing
- Day-/Night Cream
- Eye Cream
5 - Sunscreen ( In the morning )
Also on shaving mornings I would change it up to:
1 - Warm Water to open the pores
2 - Cleansing
3 - Shaving Cream
4 - Shaving
5 - Cleanse again
6 - Wash off with cold water
7 - Moisturize
8 - Sunscreen
Does it make sense to replace the classic aftershave with a cleanse and moisturizer?
Thanks a lot for the great comprehensive video!
hey Tim, just wanted to say I really dig the vibe of your channel. really positive energy is just what we need in these weird times
Thank you my friend! I appreciate your support! Stay healthy 🙌😊
I'm trying to reverse my quaranteen glow down, this was great.
I ordered the Geologie trial set which I still have and use. It's really good and I would recommend it to people who want to give it a try.
Do you still recommend it after 3 months?
Shoutout to everyone watching from the confines of their home! Quarantine viewing party!
Tbh, I love the transparency on your sponsors. It makes me actually want to buy those products
These tips are great. For a good skincare regimen, I'd recommend checking out Doctor Youn's videos on perfect skincare routines for morning and evening. The products I use in the morning are:
Cleanser: Sodium Sulfacetamide 9.8% Sulfur 4.8%
Toner (optional): Thayers Facial Toner
Antioxidant: skinbetter Alto Defense Serum (this stuff is amazing)
*I don't use eye cream because I'm lazy*
*I also don't use moisturizer because the antioxidant I use keeps my skin moist enough; note from my dermatologist: you shouldn't use moisturizer if your skin isn't dry*
In the evening, I switch out the antioxidant step for a retinol.
I’ll give it a try.
I’ll update you on how it works
"All skin is not created equal"
True in two ways :(
fantastic video. covered all the basics! great job tim :) hopefully this helps out those guys who haven't looked into skincare before.
Thanks a lot! 🙂
Man, this video was excellent! Great transitions, lighting, etc. I was hoping to find a decent quality video for men’s skincare, and this was really enjoyable! You got yourself a sub 😉
Thank you Matt! So glad to hear you enjoyed the vid 😊 Most of my content is related to fashion, not skincare, but I do like making the occasional grooming/skincare video here and there!
I haven’t thought of the pillow part before - that’s so true. Talking about beds - dust mites allergy can also irritate your skin btw guys. Clean/air your bed regularly 🔥
Brilliant. It always seems that you upload on something I am curious about haha! Wonderful video brother, thank you. Unlike so many youtubers, I really appreciate how genuine you are--how you would never make a video about a product that you never really used. Take care Tim!
Thank you for your kind words Kyle! I'm happy you enjoyed the video 😊
This video was very useful, I would love to see a video of you talking about the best fabrics for bed and sports clothes
Yes Tim the sunscreen is a great addition! Absolutely love that you are adding sunscreen in there. Such a great product for skincare overall! Super underrated.
The discount STILL WORKS and just cut THIRTY PERCENT off of a full set of stuff. Definitely getting Geologie, thanks.
Acne at 24 years old gang where you at

I’m about to be 23, I started accutane a couple months talk to a dermatologist
😅
Yo Andrew, I started Accutane on the 4th of March! How are you doing so far?
@@scott825 Accutane was 100% worth it for me, remember to keep taking care of ur skin after you are done with Accutane aswell
I highly recommend chemical exfoliating instead of physical one like scrub. Once you find the right product to exfoliate once or twice per week, it will boost the effect of the whole routine to the next level.
Do you have any specific brand that you recommend for a good chemical exfoliator?
Tim Dessaint I myself love the alternation using of Skinceuticals Retexturing Activator & Skinceuticals Blemish & Age Defense.
Since you seem to look for simple and gentle product, you can try any of the following: Vivant Skincare 8% Mandelic acid, Skinceuticals Retexturing Activator or Sunday Riley Good Genes. Use 2 times/week is enough, listen to your skin then adjust it less or more.
Tip: Don’t care about skin type while choosing exfoliating product, only skin concerns/problems matter in this step.
Tim : You can never drink to much water.
Me : Drinks 18 gallons hoping to clear my acne.
Ok maybe not that much 😬
18 gallons would cause an electrolyte imbalance that kills you, acne would be the least of your worries xD.

Can’t believe this video been 4yrs wow time flies we need an update on this.
This was comprehensive and easy skin care for men. Thanks Tim!

"All skin is not created equal," Tim Dessaint, 2020
21st birthday, figured that's a good moment to get into skincare :)
Deffinitely is
3:55 - This is a small point, but I feel like its important to clarify for people who might not know: you *can* drink too much water in a day, and it can cause some pretty adverse effects such as hyponatremia, which can be fatal. HOWEVER what Tim is saying is basically true, in that you kinda have to try hard in order to drink too much water, in order to see those negative effects. His recommendation of 3 liters is per day is pretty spot on.
Just needed to add that bit of info because I know some people might think that there isn't a way for drinking water could be bad for you, and might try to follow some logic of "Well if 3L per day is good, then 10L per day is even better!" when thats not the case.
yeah but i dont think anybody ever will drink enough for fatalities. hell, i struggle to drink 0.75L a day sometimes.
@@grqfes You'd be surprised. It does happen which is why I made the comment. It's not exactly intuitive that drinking water can kill you
Hey Tim, I recommend using the Ordinary's Glycolic Acid Toning Solution (glycolic acid is an AHA or alpha hydroxy acid which is a type of chemical exfoliant).
Sorry to hear that! That sucks. Thank you for pointing that out and for the ear tip 👌
wow! this is exactly what i asked for in the post you made a few days ago! and you already finished the video so fast! Thank you so much Tim this is so helpful
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
I'm in indonesia and interested in this skin care routine, i even want to but it using your code. But because i live so far away, it will cost almost 70$ just for the shipment. And i was like... Well maybe not 🤣
Ah sorry to hear that! Shipping can be hella expensive 😐
Lol hi im half danish and indonesian
Most informative guy, I swear....only expected the cream suggestions but the other things woahh alright I better start doing this regularly
7:36 interesting fact.
Tim, you are so amazing guy! I explored your channel few days ago and I am very excited of your videos. Even those videos without connection to fashion. Thank you very much. I think your videos will help me become better in future! Peace.
Damn! Former Yakuza member talks about skin care. Nice
just fyi, there is such a thing as too much water. I've learned it the hard way. In the context of this video though, Tim's the authority so thanks for the great content :)
Tips from me: drink more water everyday
And sleep more
U a syed?
I only get more pee. help
@@kaichun6613 its a good thing actually.
Thank you Dinora! Glad you approve of the content 🙂 I never knew about milia. I will look into it, thank you for letting me know!
honest/genuine guy and gave us awesome information. Appreciate it !!
YESSS Tim back at it again with the fire 🔥

I just went ahead and ordered their 30day trial using your code after watching the video. Starting my route better skincare!
1. Eat well & drink more
2. 3 Step daily routine:
(Once in the morning & Once at night)
- Cleanse
- Moisturize (Using Day & Night Cream) + Eye Cream
- Protect (Use Sunscreen after morning cream)
3. Exfoliating once a week
(To remove dead skin cell)
4. Change your towels & pillowcases
5. Chill out (To reduce stress hormone which makes your skin oliy and produce acne)
How many times should you change pillowcases?
bro I'm new to your content and I'm usually super suspicious towards anyone who gives advice when I'm searching for it but you seem like a legit dude, telling the basics like eating and all
my skins is kinda okay but is definitely not as smooth as I'd want it to, so I'm gathering info to know more or less what I'm trying to get info

Philosophy clenser (overpriced, recommend cereve cream-foam instead)
SA cleanser when my skin is a dirty after wearing a mask for 12 hrs
Cereve daily moisturizer
Krave beet the sun sunscreen spf 50++++
Exfoliating Paulas choice once a week
the ordinary niacinamide almost daily for hyperpigmentation
The ordinary hyluronic acid for eye cream replacement and extra moisture at night (not really needed most moisturizers have it)
Retanoid differen A as needed
Works for me!
