In my experience, walking around Rome was one big archeological dig after the other, almost every street had a dig or museum. And the food! Magnifico!
For both the best food and the more uncommen sites you must explore this beautiful city.
Rome is truly a treasure, in which I felt at home immediatamente
Rome is the most beautiful city in the world - a place I'll never stop loving.
Also in my opinion the best espresso in the world, strong and sweet (no sugar added!). and while exploring, the best Spaghetti I have ever tasted, just on the fringe of Rome, during a pitstop, in a little family restaurant.
Kids playing around, the whole family gathered, cooking or serving, chatting all the time, checkered red and white tablecloth.
I felt like I was at home, blessed.
I have never felt like that in any other city in Europe, bless you Italia. Mille Grazie.
The piazzas (e.g., Piazza Navona which you failed to mention), the other major and minor basilicas which are home to artistic masterpieces, the museums (like the Borghese), the parks, etc. when visiting Rome, it is better to compartmentalize it according to time periods: ancient Rome, medieval Rome, Renaissance and Baroque Rome, modern Rome, including fascist Rome.
Beautiful city with spectacular places, tourist attractions and food, a dream to visit it one day.

I have been there , wants to travel again and again because Rome is very very different country in the world, it has many beautiful and historical places like Colosseum, St.Peter's Basilica,vitacan museum,Roman Forum,Trevi foundation,Galleria Borghese and Spanish steps for relax place.
