It's funny how Serato doesn't have any support for uninstalling the driver. I've been trying to figure out for 2 days now.

I have a ddj-sx and running serato in the newest macOS catalina update, and i've tried this step and so many other steps and I don't know what to do. I get the same error message! "Error. Failed to connect audio!!" As for the ddj-sx there's no drivers needed to run it on the mac but even if there was when i check my MIDI Drivers folder in the audio folder it's empty. So im assuming that's where the problem comes from. It's been about a month now and still haven't found a solution.
i downloaded the audio drivers for the ddj 1000srt.....when i went into system preferences in my Mac and checked the sound option....the audio drivers are nowhere to be found....am i missing something?

I got the mixtrack pro 3, and it used to work no problem. Now when I plug it into my MacBook Pro. It lights up, but it doesn't control Serato pro, it not recognizing the controller I guess because it only responds to the trackpad

@crossfader Please HELP if you can. I just received the Pioneer DDJ-1000SRT and was having this problem so I uninstalled the driver and reinstalled it, but it didn't give me the prompt the second time. I went into Security & Privacy and manually granted permission. Serato DJ Pro finally recognized my controller but nothing much is functioning other than deck 1. None of the channel level indicators are lighting up though they light up when I turn on the controller, so I know they "work" and the crossfader won't do anything. I'm also not getting audio from the headphones. I've done all the "common sense" stuff like setting up the crossfader assign switches and everything up top is set to USB A. I feel like this is still possibly related to the issue mentioned in this video but I've uninstalled/reinstalled the driver multiple times and it won't give me the pop-up anymore. Please help. I'm desperate here and don't want to end up with an expensive paperweight.

Ive been trying all afternoon :( I dont even get any of those pop ups just tries to open the updated driver then says controller not connected when it is...THATS the whole problem in the first place...Rekordbox is not connecting to my controller...just like you suggested....but I cant even get the steps to update...im going nuts over here :( :( :(

somehow I can connect my djm 850 mixer to audacity, but my macbook doesn't recognize the device, audacity does though. meaning the djm 850 is the input in audacity but when i press play, audacity doesnt record anything. Also there is no djm 850 driver on my macbook and when I connect the mixer to download the firmware it says its not connected. PLEASE HELP

Thanks mate, I was about to throw this XDJ-XZ in the trash & plug my DDJ-SZ2 back up. At least the same Power cord from the SZ2 work with the XDJ-XZ so now I have a new spare. Cheers.
I keep installing my drivers but once i close serato dj overnight it gives me the "error audio failed" message. the drivers won't remain installed for long. HELP!!
That's not my problem. The driver is installed properly and is recognized in other user's folders, but for my user login, it isn't -- the software recognizes when it's connected and not, but the controller is just never activated when plugged in. If I login as another user and run the software, it works fine. I've tried re-installing the Rekordbox several times even deleing the Library plists etc. each time but to no avail. It's clearly some user setting or corrupted system file or something, but I can't find anything to change.

I just installed the driver on to my MacOS Ventura and that pop up didn't appear for me. It followed the normal process of going through the license and terms etc but the pop up never appeared. It said installation successful, so I'm guessing in the last 2 years that was fixed?
to simplify my question, what if that pop up didn't appear, is there something I'll need to do next time I connect to the controller? I downloaded the driver for the XDJ XZ

Thanks for this video! This happened to me when I first tried to connect to the DJM-900. However, even after I pressed "Allow", it still gave me the error on Serato. To fix this, I uninstalled the driver, and before installing again, I selected "click the lock to make changes". This way the additional options aren't greyed out, and you can click "Allow" or "Always Allow" from there. I thought this was a one time thing, but the same happened again when I connected to an SZ. It didn't connect after pressing "Allow", so I repeated the steps above. Don't know why this is.

Thanks for the video im going nuts I am getting exactly what you're talking about except I'm not getting the pop-up I have a 2019 MacBook Pro with an Intel core processor, not the M1 chip I just deleted the driver and I'm reinstalling it and going to connect to the controller is there any other way to get to that security setting because when I reinstall the driver I did not get that pop-up.

* If you want to use the driver software on a Mac with an M1 chip, you need to change security settings on your Mac by
following the steps below.
Follow the instructions below to change [the level of security used on your startup disk].
1) Close your Mac.
Choose [Apple menu] > [Shut Down].
2) Press and hold the power button until you see [Loading startup options].
3) Click [Options], then click [Continue].
If requested, enter the password for an administrator account.
Your Mac opens in Recovery mode.
4) Choose [Utilities] > [Startup Security Utility] on the menu bar.
5) Select the startup disk you want to use to set the security policy.
If the disk is encrypted with FileVault, click [Unlock], enter the password, then click [Unlock].
6) Click [Security Policy].
7) Set the security policy.
Click [Reduced Security].
Select the [Allow user management of Kernel extensions from identified developers] checkbox.
8) Click [OK]

@@lightning221 Hey guys, I do not have the M1 chip my mac book pro is 2019 16 inches with the intel core processor I've updated the firmware for my ddj-sz2 and the audio driver and at first, it worked fine(at home) I even tried it with 2 different mac book pros and everything worked fine, then I go to my first gig after updating everything and my mac book pro gets the pop up saying its now connected to the ddjsz2 and so I drop a song in a player and the music plays out of the Mac's speakers so I check the sound and the ddjsz2 is not showing at all, I change controller wires and restart my mac and still nothing, but my dj plugs in his 2017 mac book pro and his mac is not updated and everything works fine. so what should I be looking for or testing or changing. thanks so much

Not helping. I Updated everything... mac os and Serato DJ Pro ... "error: failed to connect audio!!" shows up connects for split second and disconnects.

@@mlwmemphis sooooo all you have to do really is go to system preferences while everything is plugged in and allow serato / pioneer apps to run!! its apple not permitting your drivers to run

I upgraded to the SR2, but can't find the drivers. My Mac reads my SR, as well as my SX2. Whats the issue???

I’m having the same problem. I don’t get this notification either
I got that notification once, now i cant find it again. I have unistalled the drivers and reinstalled, restarted, disconnected ddj, but still doesnt work. Plus even the firmware update isnt working for some reason. Ive tried holding sync & shift until it blinks showing its ready to update, but nothing happens after i keep uploading driver🤷🏽♂️

Its Apple blocking the Pioneer program. It shows up under Utilities - System Information - Blocked Software. I can't find a way to take it off. I have Mac OS Catalina.

So helpful, but now every time I reinstall the driver the pop up no longer comes up- it just auto downloads without an issue. Also the uninstall for the driver has gone walkies so I actually now can't uninstall.

Having the same issue! You can select all the drive files and move to bin then empty your bin to fully delete. When I reinstall the driver though I'm also not getting the pop up any more and can't allow the apps in the system preferences either. Lmk if you have any luck!

id recommend contacting apple to see if they can downgrade to the previous. Im not too versed with Bg Sur I just know everyones having a issue with it around this time. if I find a video ill be sure to share it with you to best help if you can't get it resolved
