I make mine with just the Coconut Oil and BiCarb. Since using it, I don’t even have to use every day. I can literally go weeks without the need to apply. Even when I am in super hot and humid Sri Lanka !!
👍😊
Sorry what is it??
Bicarb ??

so excluding arrowroot powder should work just fine.
I’m just getting into this & I was thinking of using orange or rose oil , the possibilities are endless. Thanks for this, better than most video!

This is so amazing. Your diy is helpful. I really want to make some organic deodorants and toothpaste. Thankyouuuuu
Thank you!!
My experience has showed me it is usually better to use less baking soda, as I find it irritating on my skin. I usually go for a mix of shea butter and coconut oil. Shea butter makes it creamier and more spreadable. I then add arrowroot and a little bentonite clay, enough so the mixture solidifies. Baking soda is typically be half a teaspoon at the very end.
Thank you for sharing ClioMako!
Thanks for recipe
Yup coz baking soda skin rashes n blisters 😢😢😢😢😢

Thank you, Adriana! I look forward to trying this.
I hope you do Susan! It really works good!
This really works very well. I have been using it for a long time it even brightens the area also you can sweat but it's odorless. Finally I was worried that the oil will cause greasiness but it didn't, maybe the baking soda put it off.
Thank you so much for your feedback!! 🥰
Yes. Baking soda counteracts the oil from staining your clothes and helps to wash it out later.
Thank you! I'll give this a try.
😊
Love your videos!!!!!! More like this one please, and really some with meal prep etc. :)
Thanks Mae I will, and great idea on the meal prep!
@@Livinghealthywithchocolate what if i don't have coconut oil can i use any other oil
Thank you for this...I live in the Caribbean and I just use melted organic coconut oil which I apply first under my arms, then a bit of baking soda...it really works..
👍
can i make it with just baking soda and coconut oil? I have body odor, and i have try several products but didn't work...
Yes. Additional its better to have tea trea oil. I personally have a small bottle of water (u know those empty plastic drinking bottle?) i fill it with water, add 3 to 4 drops of tea tree oil. And dissolve. Then after shower first i apply some lemon juice, leave it for few mins, rinse. Then apply this water we made little bit in both underarms. After it's dried, apply this deodorant and tadaaa.
I've used this recipe for 3 months now and it works perfectly. It's one of those recipes that you can layer as well in case at the end of the day it's starting to wear off (rarely does), you can add more to your underarms.
Thanks for sharing Anna! Great to know you are using this deodorant recipe.

Arrow root in and of itself works great if you are sensitive to the bicarb. Espom salt is good too
Thanks for sharing. I find that without the baking soda, the deodorant is not as effective, especially if it's hot out.
I love your videos. I've been using this deodorant for six years, it's amazing! But I live in Brazil and don't know where to find arrowrot, so I use tapioca starch (polvilho doce) instead. It works perfectly. I used cornstarch in the past, but it gave me a terrible rash.
Thank you Hannah! I never used cornstarch and this is good to know! Arrowroot, tapioca and manioc (polvilho doce) are very similar so they should work well too.
Thanks Adriana this was my doubt, I will try to make it with corn starch then, I'll let you know thanks 🙏❤️

Hi! You're so pretty. Thank you for sharing this video. It really helps and i am so excited to try this. Can we use cornstarch instead of arrowroot? Thank you!
Thank you Yesha 🥰. You can use cornstarch as well.
Can i use Sunflower oil instead of coconut oil? And by the way, it really works! Thank you so much! I do not stink at all. I apply only in the morning after shower and that covers all day work.
To people that have rashes from this mixture: What I have realized is its from the baking soda. I found an amount that works for me pretty well though WITHOUT a rash and this is it:
1 tbsp - half coconut oil, half shea butter (you can use only coconut oil if you want) - smells nice, moisturizes, and is anti microbial.
1/2 tbsp - arrowroot powder - this keeps you dry
1/4 tsp - baking soda - this deodorizes the smell
Adriana!😍 Amei a receita so que aqui onde moro não é fácil achar arrowroot powder, com o que eu poderia substituir? Pls love it! Thanks a lot! ❤️
Pode usa a tapioca ou mandioca fininha também, e a mesma coisa.
@@Livinghealthywithchocolate ahh ok obrigada! 💋❤️
its amazing how simple this is to do. many many thanks for sharing. question...does the arrowroot leave white marks on t-shirts etc for example the same way anti-perspirants do? i dont like those type of deodorants so i just use body spray and would love to make my own the same way...

Adding bentonite sounds great ( I read one comment in respect of bentonite).
Have you tried making this deodorant yet? You can replace the arrowroot with cornstarch.
Sure am gonna try this
It won't disappoint you!
Thank God for natural remedies, and people like yourself willing to share them💗
I only have one! Concern in regards to using this.. Does the oil not leave oil stains on your clothes?
Thanks Kim! This deodorant does not stain clothes and after you apply it it dries in about 5 minutes.

This definitely works for me, it kind of makes my armpits darker but i see that it's been peeling off.

Fabulous!! I always thought of using alum
Hope you make this one soon Muniba!
So is Alum safe now?
SugarHoneyKisses, I don’t think it is fully safe. But double check your state’s consumer reports or department of health website.
Will try. TY
You're welcome! Let me know how it goes after you try it.
Thank you for sharing the recipe. Is there a one for natural toothpaste, you can share please?
That's a great idea and I'll share a natural toothpaste recipe soon!
I love this. Can't believe how great it works. But I am having a rash under my arms. Should I just not put the baking soda?
Try adding less baking soda. For me I started with about 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda and now I add 1 teasp to my batch. Your body will adjust.
Is there a way to use diy toothpaste deodorant or face wash or masks without coconut oil and nuts because I’m allergic :/
Hi Adriana?! How are you today? I just joined your channel I love it thank you for doing this channel. I also downloaded some sweets that I am definitely going to try. Concerning the deodorant need to add a fragrance can u pls tell us how.
I live in Lebanon the middle east
Thank you very much
Have a nice day.
Hi Chadi Saleh, try adding a few drops of essential oil - any essential oil you like the smell of.
I used only coconut oil and baking soda. It worked perfectly and better than the market bought deodorant.
The only issue is that if you sweat a lot outside then you may take an extra t-shirt or shirt so that you can change your t-shirt after sweating a lot because there is no deodorant on the t-shirt and after a while the t-shirt starts to smell like sweat because of the bacteria on the t-shirt.
Thanks for your feedback.
Hi, i am wondering is it possible to replace coconut oil with olive oil. i mean is that still working? because sometimes i run out of coconut oil. what do think about this.
I never tried using olive oil. It may also work.

Wow amazing youre so sharp
Thank you so much 😊
Love your video ❤️, How long can this formulation last if stored at room temperature? Thanks
This recipe makes a small amount and if you use it everyday it will last for about 1 month. At room temperature or refrigerated it won't spoil for at least 1 to 2 years.
*CAN I KEEP THIS IN MY ROOM?HERES MY RECIPE :) 4 TABLESPOON OF VIRGIN COCONUT OIL,2 TABLESPOON OF BAKING SODA,4 TABLESPOON OF CORN STARCH,10 DROPS OF TEA TREE ESSENTIAL OIL AND 10 DROPS OF LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL!DO I NEED TO DETOX FIRST BEFORE I TRANSFER TO NATURAL DEO OR ITS OKAY IF I DONT?*
I love this! But I was wondering does the arrowroot (I use corn starch) act like antiperspirant so it wont let you sweat, is that something we don’t want?
Eli the arrowroot does not act as an antiperspirant. It simply helps mixing the ingredients, and drying the oil in the skin after application.
hi, i love your channel and your recipes are so good. what can i put instead of arrowroot? i leave in algeria and we don't find such stuff here.thanks
You can probably find the arrowroot online or in some asian stores. I haven't tried using a different ingredient in place of the arrowroot, but cornstarch may also work.
+Living Healthy With Chocolate thanks
Thank you
So excited to try this! Thank you 😊
You are so welcome!
This video is very helpful
Thank you very much for your feedback!
I used to use regular antiperspirant with deodorant but since I've discontinued it and switched to natural salt deodorant I no longer have yellow staining on my white shirts. Will this deodorant cause staining?
After a couple of minutes of applying the deodorant should dry on your skin. But when you sweat, it does not stain.
Hi Just subscribed. Thanks for sharing. Made mine with cornstarch, was wondering about Tapioca, have some. Believe most cornstarch is GMO!! Tapioca I wonder?? And then of course my Baking Soda doesn't state whether it has Aluminum 🤔?
Thanks Kathy! Baking soda should not have any other ingredients added to it and the label should only call for bicarbonate soda. Tapioca also works in this recipe.
Made this and it works for me.
Thank you Regina! It never fails :)
Does it really keep your armpits dry? Because that's what I need. I've been stuck my entire life using the store antiperspirant/deodorant with the aluminum.
It does keep it dry. As soon as you apply it it will be wet, but it dries up soon after. Hope you give it a try. Keep me posted.
Thanks
You're welcome Irit :)
Will definitely try this. But what can I use in place of arrowroot because I don't know anything about it. I haven't even heard or seen it before. Thanks
Cornstarch or tapioca starch would be the closest substitute.

You don't smell the coconut oil.
great video :) how much coconut oil did you use for this recipe btw ?
Thank you! The written recipe is posted on my blog here livinghealthywithchocolate.com/how-to-make-natural-deodorant-that-works/
this is very helpful thank you,,,,, however is it ok to freeze this to have the solid version ?
Have you tried making this deodorant yet? How did it go? You can keep it refrigerated if you prefer. There's no need to freeze it as it becomes solid in the fridge. Personally I prefer it soft so I can stir it before each application.
I've been using this recipe and it works. The only issue is that it is a bit gritty and crumbly and leaves fine grit on my bed sheets. It's fairly cool where I am and I mixed everything as solids, though the coconut oil softened a lot as I mixed it with my hands, and so the deodorant is solid at room temperature. I let it soften on my palms before applying it. So, would heating/melting the coconut oil first allow the arrowroot and baking soda to dissolve better and thus prevent 'crumbs'? Or do you have any other suggestions? Many thanks, Adriana.
You could use another kind of oil that doesn't solidify at cooler temperatures. Avocado oil, olive oil, macadamia nut oil, almond oil are a few alternatives. Let me know if this helps.
You don't need deodorant when you are sleeping

I have a question! Does the aroma last for a whole day? Coz I sometimes I feel like I have to apply the deodorant more than one time a day, Im just hoping that ur product is what I'm looking for and that it last for a long time. Thanks
For me personally, I only apply it once in a day. With regular store-bought deodorant I had to apply it twice. Hope this helps.
Hi! Is there an expiration date on this deodorant, or can I make it in bulk and store it somewhere?
You can definitely make it in bulk and it should last a really long time. I'd store it in your medicine cabinet.
