  • Fix for all electric windows not working. All the fuses are good and motor is good. the remaining thing is the windows control unit circuit board on the drivers side which is intergrated with the motor.
    This video will show you how to trouble shoot and change the two components that are faulty. The 10 pin 12v ACT 512 relat and the 100uF 35v capacitor are the culprit. There are links to where more infomation can be found. I hope this will solve your problem because it solve mine.

    This fix worked perfectly. I ordered the parts you advised from ebay. The cost was £6.95 for the relay £2.50 for the capacitor. I had a friend do the soldering for £20.00. follow what this guy says and I'm sure it will solve your problem. There is clearly a issue with this specific part. These components seem to be the problem.
    Top video great soundtrack, many thanks👌

      Why capacitor is bad? I think it's all relay fault, because I don't see any trouble with capacitor, after visual inspection:( what about yours? Capacitor was blowen or cracked?

    Yep. When something stops working on a canbus vehicle bypass the canbus and use a separate relay and fuse, and power from the battery, and an ignition source, ie, whatever broke.

    I have a Skoda Fabia TDI from around the same time. I had some battery trouble during lockdown and I have recharged then replaced the battery. I have tried everything to try and reset the windows according to the manual (not working at all), so I am starting to think that it was just coincidence that the windows went at the same time. I suppose unlikely for both motors to go, so the control unit seems more likely.
    I still have a soldering iron from a while back, so I could give it a go, nothing to lose. I have heard that relays and capacitors can go. I had a couple of relays go on my central heating circuit board too - fried.
    Many thanks for the info in any case.

      Before I try the circuit board, I am now thinking it could be the reset procedure using the key and the driver's door lock. If this isn't working then the windows would stay inactivated on my particular model (2008). Some models I believe it is just the convenience close that is deactivated. I have a feeling the window open shut using the key never did work since I have had the car. If this is the way to reset, then it wouldn't work in this case. I will check the connectors and continuity. Obviously there must be a connection between the door lock and the window control unit.
      However, it is quite wet and windy today and I can't be bothered going out to do it. Will report back on the outcome for anyone interested.

    Very informative vid👌🏽. Well I have a different problem: mine (polo vivo front powered windows) shuts off soon as drive speed exceed 60km/h and won't operate until you stop, switch off the ignition and give it a few secs before you start again🤔, and same issue repeats soon as you drive again (over 60km/h😏). What could be wrong?
    Please help! 😢

    • @seismic6402
      @seismic6402 Před 3 lety +1

      This seems a strange problem but perhaps not so much when you consider electronics can work in weird and wonderful ways. The voltage would be higher when the car is running could offer a possible explanation. Everything being equal of course it shouldn't happen but degradation of parts on the circuit board like the video above suggests could be an explanation. In between working properly and not working at all, there may be an intermittent stage.
      As the poster says, if you take off the motors and test both the motors and control units separately and then decide where to go from there. If money isn't an option of course take it to a garage and electronic diagnostics may throw up something useful. You could get both motors and the control unit replaced if you really don't want the headache too.

    Hi Gents,
    I have a polo n9 2007 series ,
    The problem is the passenger window who is not working,
    When I disconnect the battery the window works, I close the car after a few minutes I try to open the passenger window and the problem is the same ,
    Can help to find an issue,
    Note that the window does not work also from the both bottoms

    • @darrenlokster
      @darrenlokster  Před 4 lety +1

      HI I havent encountered this problem. Try to trouble shoot. isolate different components to rule them out. It sounds like a relay problem like mine. because when you disconnect the power the relay resets and when you use the power window the relay gets stuck and stays in that position. Hence works once or twice. Not sure if there are relays in both sides. When you replace the relay replace the capacitor too. Good luck
