- The 1993 Ford Mustang GT convertible project returned from the paint shop, and it is time to put it all back together. In addition to reassembly, there is a few things that need attention after 30 years on the road. The transmission leak, exhaust leaks, window motor, power top and door locks had nothing to do with the accident, but things break, and someone has been here before, so we have some work to do.

My wife explains that a strategy to help with my ADD is to make lists. I accept that sometimes, yes, we need milk and not a car trailer made from a VW Beetle. I further accept that said trailer was effectively scrap and we don't have a vehicle with a tow bar. But there is freedom in letting random chance dictate what comes out the box next.

It was 15 weeks to get the title from the state and then a fire. Maybe someone is telling me this should not be on the road.

The S550s are the real problems but you still have to mess with the Ford fans!

My Father had a '79 Fox Body Mustang, white, 4 cylinder, automatic, I was 19 years old at the time, I'm 64 years old now.
I have a white 86 you could rebuild! 😂

When I was in High School in the mid 70’s I helped my Autoshop Teacher restore a 65, and then a 67 Mustang for two of his sons. But having seen your White Mustang and the fact that I’m 64 years old now, I think that car is beyond my capability. But thanks to your videos, I at least know what to watch out for while I cruise CoPart on line. Thank You.
I didn't think it was possible to put back together a Ford of this vintage. Without a can of trim black.

I thought there were not many left but it seems like there is a never ending supply. Finding one that hasn’t been hacked up is the struggle.
Been waiting for this one, was wondering if the Fire would derail it. Great work man.
Temporary but it wasn’t in the building so that helped.
The wires into the door were for added keyless entry or alarm for the locks. Should have been a couple of relays inside the car.
Somewhere there is a retaining clip engineer that just cried.

@vehcor have a 2012 Taurus. Only reason I own it is because at the time when I was buying it was the only thing I could find that felt was trustworthy for the money I was spending.
As you know they have that number pad on the driver's door. When I bought it they didn't offer a code for it.
Googled as to how I could get it without going through the dealer. Actually found it, not sure that I'll use it much.
I'm the only one that drives it so there's no reason why I wouldn't have a key on me, unless I'm mowing the yard. Then I have to park it in the alley long enough to mow.

Like he said, fasteners to hold the bumper on, Ford used to care about those mustangs going through the crowds mowing over people can’t lose their bumper because it’s fastened on 😂

This car brings back fond memories for me. I took auto body at Owens community college and a classmate and I spent an entire day trying to mount and adjust a door on a mid 90s fox body and the next week our instructor gave us the battle of the door award he printed off. Just watching this cars rebuild brings a smile to my face.

19:35 I was wondering if they addressed the problem with the 88+ versions. If you lift the handle you can slide a screwdriver under the handle, through that opening and push the lock/latch open. A flat blade works best, from what I've been "told" of course.

The pizza girl looks like a lady that you don't want to fight with. That's why she gets whatever car she wants. I'm married to a petite lady that is shoulder height to me when she's wearing heels. That little girl definitely makes a big impression. If you don't believe that then you can feel the top of my head! I'm sure Scott knows what I mean.

Fixing plastic, use Super glue and Baking soda, its a hundred times better then epoxy. Glue piece together let dry, add superglue and baking soda around the edges and let dry works every time.

Looks great Scott! That AC switch went out on mine and I totally didn't replace the O ring. It leaked everything out in a couple of days and took me a while to figure it out! 😂

Is a whining A/C compressor on a ‘04 grand am a bad bearing? The A/C blows cold still. The engine gets bogged down a bit at idle when the compressor kicks in

I put LX tail lights in my 91 GT. Never cared for the GT tail lights. Car is turning out great! I’m really liking it! My grandson asked, Is that a Wolf when he seen your shepherd. No son, that’s a Dog. I don’t think I convinced him! 😂

It was actually a couple months after it was filmed but, yeah.
EVERY convertible owner uses the AC (or heat) to have the top down when the weather is a wee bit beyond ultra-comfort.

This is one of my petpeeves. Windows. Specifically, Frameless Windows. Specifically specifically power frameless windows.
I love them, but in the 80s and onward they flop. A lot. They also dont go up and down in a nice smooth way like they did in the 70s, at least for Ford. GM seemed a bit better in the 80s. Also, these regulators just dont like moving up fast enough. Could be voltage with the car off, but likely weak chinesium replacements (unless you have a stash of NOS ones like I do for my Continentals lol)
But, what bugs me probably the most, is expectations, and a philosophical waxing and waning of getting old. I remember these new, unlike 50s, 60s, 70s cars that were used cars when I got my hands on them. So...yeah, sucks that we chase our youth, and like these cars when they were brand new, theyll never be the same way....
But, you accept it, do a burnout and move on. (or stay in place. Its a burnout after all!)
They look like the same door handles as used on the Australian Ford Falcons (XD-XF) which are so notorious for failing that they are a meme.
