Nah more like Homelander is like this version of Superman. Superman doesnât care about his image ruined or a narcissist. SUPERMAN at this point donât give a fuck whether ppl fear him or not. Homelander on the other hand, cares too much about ppl loving him.
Shazam was one of the few people there that could actually take him on and stop him. Superman knew that, and that's why for a moment he forgot about the kid named Billy Batson, and proceed to immediately eliminate Shazam, one of the possible biggest threats to his plans.

In the original make of this the developers has him in kid for already and because he was weak and couldn't fight back he went for a Shazam to turn into Shazam but superman stoped him and burned his head the game testers found it too graphic so they just made it look as if he's in Shazam form. Homelander is basically superman if he was actually real = everyone sees a superhero but it's really a man that knows the truth of the lies and politics and therefore makes realistically horrific decisions based on his knowledge of his power and knowing that no one can stop him.
