I liked black panther but in my opinion there are better superhero movies to be nominated for best picture, like Logan for example

How did Logan not get a nomination. That movie was nearly perfect.
Black Panther was a GOOD movie...but the amount of hype it received, and the fact it got nominated for a goddamned OSCAR was solely based on some, "it has a lot of black people in it, so we not only can't criticize it, but we need to actively praise it" propaganda, which the media gladly took part in.
I actually prefer Black Panther over Logan.
Black panther was a total badass in Civil War, nothing alike in his own movie lol even the suit was less cool imo, and the ps2 cgi didn't help much.
Just stop hijacking existing franchises and established characters. There's so much cool folklore/mythology, and history from everywhere around the world to pluck ideas from for "diversity". Yet these creatively bankrupt writers have no desire in creating something new. I just started learning about Filipino folklore from some random cartoon I found on Netflix. There's so much untapped potential for new movies/shows out there.
How are they hijacking their own property!? Just so you know, they can do whatever they want with it. This particular version, they decided on a Black lead. In the future, they might make her Indigenous.🤷🏿♂️
Also, they can do BOTH. They can make different versions of their characters AND create original ones.

I agree with Tyrone. Black Panther in Civil War was great. Really a warrior king who's on the hunt for Bucky. When I watched Black Panther movie, I was like where's that fire? Where's the animal-like ferocity?

Context is key. T’Challa had a simple but effective character arc in Civil War. Father was assassinated, out for revenge against brainwashed Bucky, came to realize that antagonism was misplaced, redirected it toward apprehending the true culprit, arc complete. That allowed us to see vengeful, badass T’Challa almost nonstop but very little room for other emotions. Which is why in BP we see the true T’Challa who has a range of emotions throughout, not just fire and fury.
He has tempered it with mercy.
the reason why they love not sticking with source material is because if they are paying millions of dollars for rights use or they own right's use they are going to make their own personal idea changes to Storyline or the Look of Character's

True with Civil war BP. Guy was a serious player, had agenda, was proactive, but he was still wise and calculated. He was dangerous but still humane. The ending confrontation with Zemo was one of my favourite scenes in the entire MCU

Why can't they stick to the source material is the question everyone has been shouting since all this started. They hire writers with no talent but have the attitude to push the message and directors who have no vision to make a decent show.
Well, the original '89 film didn't stick to the source material. In fact, NONE of the Disney animated films stuck to the source material.
Leslie Jones was far from being the worst part about the 2016 Ghostbusters. That award goes to the smarmy, smirky queefer.

Well...I'm still glad the Sonic movies are doing well, not EXACTLY sticking to the main source material, but still a great adaption from game > movie.
That said, that’s not as if they aren’t paying homage to the game lore in their own way. Unlike other properties I could mention.

Black Panther vs Capt. Marvel : Both are B movies, with one difference : people liked Chadwick Bozeman. People didn't like a plank of wood. And that was all the difference .
His edits are so hilarious, he always has the right clip for the thing he's talking about.
The only thing I liked about ghostbusters 2016 was seeing it in 3d. There were black bars top and bottom of the screen and the SFX, ghosts, ghost wands electricity went out of the frame, was a very cool effect. Made it even more immersive and 3d.
The only good parts of 2016 had nothing to do with the plot, characters, etc. It was the GB equipment and the return of the Firehouse to our screens after so many years. That was it.
Maybe fans would excuse the character changes if the movies were actually good.
Spider-Man is proof of that. completely changed the supporting cast but was still loved by the fans.
If they were really serious about "reflecting the world as it is today," we'd only have turgid, depressing dramas. No superheroes, no fantasy, no scifi. Just an endless rehash of "Kramer vs. Kramer."

I would say the biggest problem is all these terrible Hollywood writers.... They literally can't write to save their own life that it just becomes garbled nonsense.

I really don't like race swapping characters. Surely if the roles were reversed and it was Wakandans being swapped out for other race actors black people would be unhappy about it. What about if the next black panther was taiwanese? Can Blade be Indian? I understand black people need better roles in entertainment but they need to create new original charatcers for them.

Black Panther was a let down. It was good, but it wasn't Oscar-worthy, and it was entirely too predicable. Which is a shame because Killmonger was a great character and the stakes could've been much higher.
