Great choices James!
They haven’t let me down yet so will see. Cheers 😊👍
If it ain’t Lezyne, it ain’t mine. Not sure that rhymes. Moon are good too, I’ll make an exception for them.
🤣 Something should rhyme😁 thanks again Carl😊👍
Woo... Lindt chocolate Advent Calendar... 😍😍
I was going to invest in Advent Calendars but my accountant said their days are numbered.... Way hey... boom boom!
Oh alright... I'll get my coat...
Oh the lights. As you know James I got the 300 strip drive pro thingamabob after seeing your review of it and am very pleased with it. That mode where it flashes a couple of times then flashes at full belt is really good in daylight for catching the eye. I had a little rubber spacer block thing with mine as well, to make the light angle correctly when on the seat stays or something like that. Never used it though.
A few months ago I bought a new Lezyne Super Drive 1300XXL for the princely sum of £40. I didn't know at the time but it was cheap because Lezyne had discontinued the 1300 and replaced it with the 1400. If I had known I'd have bought another, as a matching pair always looks better than a single light, and I'm wishing I'd bought a pair now as I usually do! 🤣 Now I can't find a 1300 new anywhere so am stuck with my single light, or a mismatching pair. It is a cracking light though, built like a tank. Because it's short and stubby, it doesn't wobble about on the bars or vibrate, giving a nice, steady beam. My 1000 lumen Planet X lights are good too but bounce about all over the shop.
Great stuff!
I’m glad you got your coat😂
I like the 300 as well Mick but as I usually do, I’ll spend my hard earned YT money on new things to review, or look at. The Drive 1000 is around £50/55 I think and 400 rear £45, so not too badly priced for the pair. Glad you say built like a tank, as that’s what the Bikehut lights were made of, but now changed to plastic and different mounting systems… price has gone up and cheaply made… pity. I give the lights a try and see how they fair, if and when I manage to get out that is🤬 weather 😉 Cheers 😊👍
Sorry, I can't resist making a crap joke!
Lezyne seem to make good gear, don't think I've ever heard anyone say their stuff isn't much cop. Despite that, their prices are pretty reasonable I reckon, so a good brand all round in my opinion.
Edit - just found a Lezyne 1300XXL on Leisure Lakes Bikes so grabbed one quick. I know it's daft, but I much prefer a pair of lights up front to a single. Twice the run time if you use them one at a time, twice the amount of light if you don't and you have a back up if one fails for some reason. Plus two lights look more purposeful! 🤣
You and I James are going to have to start a Bike Lights Anonymous group for people who keep buying lights 🧐 😎😵💫
The youtube light specialist 😉
Just trying some out… for a friend😁😊👍
Finally they got away with that silly USB stick charging port
I hear ya😁👍
I have the Micro Drive Pro 800+ and its a cracking light been using it for 2 months and the battery is still going albeit it on low now and needs charging. I want to grab the 1600+ version that would be awesome :)
Loving the name😁 Thanks for your feedback and comment. I’m hopefully going to get a video up of the 1400+ shortly, which looks at the reason why I went for this light over the 1800+ and 1600+. Lezyne seems to do a good job in their lights. Thanks again😊👍
There won't be an issue if you are mounting it on an angled pole or any non vertical surface like a bag. The very wide dispersion in both the horizontal plane and vertical plane means that vehciles/cyclists 10 to 100m away still can see you very nicely. You can use your phone's luxmeter to measure things so as to confirm. Put the side of the light right up against a wall and you'd see what i am talking about. Compare this with a cygolite hypershot, that one you'd have to be within like 5 degrees vertical/horizontal.
Thanks for the information appreciated. My first look videos always will have open ended questions, I’ll try to be the buyer so I can then look in to the issue and solution for when I do a review. The new light clearly has a lot more opening so you can see the light can be seen from more angles than the 300. again the info is great thanks. Appreciate the view and comment. Take care😊👍
Thanks for the video, do you know if one can use the light while plugged into usb c (eg power bank)?

Check out this little short I just made for you😊 Answer is yes😊👍
Hi there, could you pls do me a favour? Please make a video and show the 400 lumens mode for at least 30 seconds. I want to see how many full powered flashes does it flash in say 10 seconds and also the duration of each full powered flash. Thank you.
I take it you’re wanting the 400 Day Flash on the Rear Light. I’ll try to get this done as a short tomorrow. Cheers😊👍
@@JamesSocialCycling Thanks a lot James. Yes i am intending to get a light that has a fair number of flashes in its top output mode. Appreciate the vid, will lookout for it and it'd help heaps. :)
@@2100BLF I’ll show the 300 as well in top setting. Will post in the next hour
